Coach Canon
The case is a nice genuine Coach brand bag, although made in China--I assume like the rest of the Coach line. The bag is very snug fitting which is nice, however, the metal zipper on the bag is sharp and scratches across the camera screen. My wife made a nice fabric bag to act as an inner liner to protect the camera as it goes in and out of the bag. This didn't work though because the Coach bag is so tight fitting it won't squeeze in. An when she made a liner out of silk, it is so fine, it gets caught in the metal zipper. SO, with all that said, about the bag, the camera is fantastic. The digital face finder is amazing and it is leaps and bounds above our 4 year old SD450.
Overall, the COACH edition is NOT worth the money, better to spend the extra $50 on a nice bag of your own :)


High Quality for a novice
I read many reviews here and elsewhere before purchasing this camera. Get a good memory card and the shot repeat time is faster than advertised. I wanted a camera that took Widescreen resolution photos so the photos would display very well on a large HDTV, the major reason I went with so many mega-pixels, otherwise, you may want to look at other PowerShots. Overall, I find the interface easy enough to use and I don't know much about photography. It's auto-focus is fine, stabilization is fine, I'm not certain but I think it lags a little bit when adjusting for lighting conditions. It's an excellent camera if you want the res. The video's good enough for posting the kids' activities to the web for relatives. So I feel I have a quality all-in-one for my needs.


an outstanding camera
I just bought this camera like replacement of my SD100 before going to a voyage. The photographs taken are simply marvellous in particular it has a manual mode which provides a better instantaneous order in extreme state of lighting. I tested SD800, SD850 and even SD870 in the stores of camera but they like are not polished as this one. However, the image is sometimes turned 90 degrees in mode of review. The software package comes with the camera is manner well better than that comes with Sony. Moreover, the Gun should improve the design in the way in which the cable of USB is connected. It is awkward to connect the cable with the connector due to the cover. For the size and the price of a compact numerical camera, I cannot think of no other best camera.


So good, It will be my primary camera!
I decided SD950IS after having considered much the models classified by pocket, including the models of Casio and Sony. I looked at photographs announced on the sites of review and Web sites of enthusiast. I to have Nikon DSLR which takes excellent photographs, but it is too expensive and cumbersome for the majority of occasions of shooting. I like to capture these memorable spontaneous moments which can be only taken with camera classified small, fast by pocket, but I am not been willing to accept photographs of lower quality to achieve this goal. After having used the camera of Gun SD950 during approximately a month, it is clear that it will be my primary education camera. It very quickly takes the clear projectiles crunching of quality, of the power on and of the reinforcement to frame, prone to the subject. The integrated devices impressive, are even compared with my DSLR, although I doubt that I employ some of the ésotériques functions. I miss sometimes the lack of complete ordering of the handbook shutter/aperture, but I remember what is the goal of this camera. I consider this high a final point and pushes, established quality and semi-finale-rugged, which takes the really impressive photographs for its size. It feels full and pleasant to be held and orders, and posting is coated pointed, luminous, and anti-glare. Basic controls are simple, and I found the mode of film to be much more pleasant and useful that I had thought that it would be. It takes really the nice looking at films 480p, and any problem with more than 10 minutes of continuous drawing on the end from Sandisk the chart from memory of 4 gigaoctets does not seem to have which I installed. Again, I have a devoted visual camera which is capable of a better visual quality, but if I want a film spontaneous fast with the Gun, it is ready to go and surprisingly nice viewing. I like the fact that it takes the films of avi which can be easily played on any computer or to be transformed into a disc.


Great Camera but not simple "Point and Shoot"
This is a great little camera, but it is not for those who want something very simple such as a "point and shoot". While it has an "auto" mode, it also has 10 preset other modes that can be somewhat tailored to your particular operating situation, and also a "manual" mode which has significantly more adjustment capability. However you cannot set shutter speed if that is important to you. The User's Guide is approximately 240 pages long and quite well written (in English, not foreign spoken "English"), although most people will not read it.
Before purchasing, I debated between this 12MP camera with a 2.5" LCD and separate viewfinder, and the SD870IS with 8MP and larger 3" LCD but no viewfinder. I would have been satisfied with either, but chose the SD950IS for my particular usage primarily because of it will take 4000x3000 pixel images (12MP). It should be noted you can also take smaller images with both cameras (8MP, 5MP, 2MP and 0.3MP for the SD950IS) which will allow putting more on the memory card (you will want to buy a separate memory card because the one that comes is only 32MB; I bought a 2GB which should store more than 300 images at the highest settings). While the layout of the controls are slightly different on each camera, they are basically the same.
I have not used the movie mode.
The included software is pretty good, although it is not as extensive as the specialized photo software from Adobe.
My main complaint is that it is very difficult to open the cover door to connect the camera to a computer to download the images, and someone with large fingers may not be able to do it easily. Also that door is very flimsy and if not handled carefully might break off.
Plan to read and study the entire User's Manual to get the full benefits of this camera. Canon makes good products.
While I found other stores advertising the SD950IS for a significantly lower price than Amazon, when I called them and tried to order it, I was told it would be 4-6 weeks even though their web site said it was "in stock". Be careful with other stores; Amazon shipped it free in 3 days (however it was by USPS and took 6 more days). And Amazon will refund any price reduction within 30 days (I have received it).


Canon PowerShot SD950IS
Camera was easy to setup and use. All features are well thought out. The lcd screen is larger which makes it easier to view. Excellent photos. Compact and lightweight design.


Better and Better!
I have owned several Elph's in the past two years. This seems to be the best yet. It is a little heavier than my Powershot 850IS. The few pictures I have taken measure up to Canon quality. I use the Canon 30D and Xti as my regular cameras. The Elph is always around in case there is a shot too good to pass up!


Very Pleased
This camera has performed flawlessly. I am very satisfied with it and look forward every time I am about to go and take more photographs.


Canon sureshot is a sure hit
I employ this product for work. I take 300 to 500 photographs per week, certain macro and the others on the car. I am not a professional photographer, but I have complaints zero with the camera. I like the size, simplicity, and I had to read the book to check several devices but they are not complicated. However, I make establish the resolution a little - I do not have really any use for an ENORMOUS photograph, but I guess if I need a one day, I will have the possibilities. And the battery lasts me above one week for each load, although I bought a protection (always in the package). And I like the small green places which jump upwards on the screen to identify my sector of hearth. It lets me know that I concentrate on the correct point of hearth.


Great camera!
Great camera for the size, fits in my pocket but I can still take great close up shots and fantastic true color high rez photo's. The pets and children setting was a surprise! When I needed to take a picture of a very energetic dog I was able to catch the pose instantly with no delay of the camera. I am not really a camera special effects guy as I usually can doctor up my photo's on my computer software but there are some fun settings that I have never used before. The software that comes with the camera is nothing to get excited about but it does the job if you just do the basics like color saturation, balance and crop.


Great replacement for my Nikon S3
I bought this camera after wide research. I have three kids and I like to take photographs. I thus have no time for the SLR a point and a growth was my only option. I bought Nikon S3 when it left the first time (before reviews) and I regret it. It takes photographs of lowlight of AWEFUL. I checked new Sony and it had all the kinds of things of recreation including/understanding the screen of contact but it took the putrefied photographs of lowlight as well. I also checked Olympe, Panasonic, another Gun and Pentex and none them took good photographs of lowlight. Things I miss about Nikon - 1) charging and downloading coupling of the station for the battery. Large device. 2) marking of the date on each image if I want. 3) plus mode of back-light of the contract 4) 5) on against emblavage of camera with the Gun - 1) it is VERY difficult to open the compartment of cable of USB and you can hardly obtain the cable inside. I fear that the door breaks thereafter. 2) no capacity to carry out on the emblavage camera. You ensure that you buy an additional battery and a larger chart of memory.


Picture review stopped working after 3 uses
I liked this camera for the few days I had it. I thought the review button was an interesting new addition but it stopped working after a few uses. I returned it for a refund and am keeping my trusty SD900 which has just as good a picture. When I checked the Canon web site for troubleshooting tips this problem did come up and all they could say was to return it to Canon for repair. A $400 camera should not have to be repaired right away so back it went.


Excellent Point & Shoot
As the satisfied owner of a Nikon digital SLR, I originally purchased the Nikon P5100 point & shoot as a holiday gift, but soon found that sluggish low-light focusing was a problem with that model. I returned the Nikon and replaced it with the Canon SD950IS. I couldn't be more pleased with the unit. It has a solid feel, excellent fit & finish (I like the durable titanium shell), excellent resolution on the 2.5 inch LCD and takes terrific shots right out of the box. Canon packs a LOT of technology into a very small package. The enclosed 32MB memory card will get you up and running, but only holds about 10 high-resolution shots, so you'll want to upgrade to a 2-4GB. It's not a replacement for a quality SLR, but it does a terrific job as a convenient, compact, high-quality point & shoot. I hightly recommend it.


Very nice camera but not very user friendly
I think this is a great camera. I love the ability to take pictures up close. Our previous camera, a Kodak, couldn't focus on anything closer than about 3.5 feet away. I will say that the Kodak was far more user friendly though. One thing I liked about the Kodak that this Canon does not have was the feature of telling how many more pictures you can put on your memory card before it is full. I can't seem to find that anywhere on the Canon. But overall the Canon SD950IS is an excellent camera that I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a good point and shoot camera.




Great Compact Camera
I bought the SD950 approximately 2 weeks ago when I sold my G7 Gun on the Amazon. G7 was a better camera. It took better photographs of interior, have more manual controls, and it is in the black and does not show any copy of image. However, the SD950 is only better with the towers of the size. It is a compact camera which you can carry it all the manner a long time right if you should take a projectile. G7 is cumbersome and heavy, thus you want really to carry it around for no reason. G9 is identical except certain difference as it can record in the BELIEVED format and the liquid crystal display can balance outside. G9 is the best camera with the mode of film outside on the market if you do not occupy yourselves of the weight and the size.


Nearly perfect compact point and shoot camera - and more!
I one am converted of Gun with this camera. I had several small cameras of point and growth - it is hand-towards the best bottom than I had. The preceding one had some serious exits with the images, they with-top- were treated - the detail was fuzzed outside and there was not only you could make about it. Some of the cameras of race of megapixel (which were 10mp) have exits because of this treatment of in-apparatus-photo. This Gun has absolutely excellent images of quality, and the camera is very that I could hope for inside a camera this size. I am astounded at which point captures SD950 the gasoline of the light - the preceding cameras were a compromise but couchers sun of captures of this camera, clouds, the vegetation, people with realistic colors. The technology of identification of face makes to the surprisingly good projectiles people. I like the tiny format to be able to take to him all the time with me - I can bring my DSLR on walks envisaged, but the small Gun is always ready. I have pretty large hands and it is easy for me to seize and handle this camera - other reviews noted this and they are absolutely correct. It seems smooth and smooth, but it is almost perfect in terms to seize it and order it. All-in-all, this seems to be the almost perfect camera of point and growth of pocket of shirt! Great camara
This is my 3 digital Canon and I love it. The quality of pictures are 2nd to none. Just got back from Hawaii and my friends kept haveing me take their picture because of how much better the picture I would get with the Canon. The anti-shake feature is awesome for those zoom in's that traditionaly you would have to be perfectly still inorder to not get a blurry picture. The software that comes with it makes it easy to store pics on your CPU. Best camera I've owned.

Coach Edition Not Worth Extra (Camera Great)
After waiting more than a month the edition of trainer to be transported, I finally received today. I was completely dismayed with the case of trainer for the camera. I have an edition of trainer of Powershop SD500 Elph de Canon which came with a magnetic instantaneous case. That functioned great..just opens the aileron and slips the camera outside into a flash. This new fiasco of a case with the SD950IS has has zippered the fence which must be entirely open to remove the camera. Worse still, you must force the camera by the open lines of the metal teeth to obtain it inside or outside. One of the minor complaints about the camera expressed by some is how easily it raye. I imagine that mine will have grooves of the teeth of pull knob as I remove the camera inside or. Lower result: Buy the edition of regular(non-coach) and employ the saving to buy a decent case of which is easy to remove the camera and which not the sratch the devil out of it! ! !


Another Good One Canon
It does what it should for a point and shoot so I read allot about all these issues. You will not find much better with these features in a point and shoot. I have 4 point and shoots, different brands and I have 3 full size cams that put all of the little ones to shame but that is what you pay for as well as the hassle to carry them around where these little point and shoots are gr8 for quickies and carrying in your pocket.


Excellent Pocket Camera
My old numerical camera is Nikon 4500 which was 6 years old, costs $700, and always functions. The Gun was an important jump in the account of MP, the reduction of the size, the storage of SDHC, and suitability. 12MP is really surpuissant in much case. It produces files of image starting from the mb 2-6, which takes a great quantity of storage and has such a detail that you can bourdonner and collects, but how much among us will benefit from this in a regular way? Even with the stabilization of image I made come some projectiles out of disorder, though I hold and take the photograph like if there is no stabilization. There is no full manual mode, however there are several of the modes preset for various arrangements and events. The automatic hearth aiaf-artificially intelligent as well as the ' detection of face, ' mode of the development automatic is also mottled and will concentrate on some very strange spots sometimes, which requires you of refocaliser or reframe the projectile. The unit itself is small, light, built well. The only part which seems badly thought outside is the cover for the mini-minis-usb and the wearing of ear-phones. To obtain hard open and awkward. The orders very intuitive and are well placed. The system of menu is simple with easy navigation. The camera ignites quickly and also has a fast automatic hearth. The liquid crystal display is large, clear, luminous, and very nice. To be able to use the camera to take it video which is limited to 1 a.m. is also a nice device. Improve to capture fasten them short, the events, the landscape, etc... After having sought, reading reviews, etc, the only principal concern is the engine used to lead the optical system. There are people who have this to fail of drive, making the camera useless and the Gun admitted with no defect or did not fix the exit, but it could be a limited concern. In a general way it is a large camera of pocket. Some of the disadvantages, such as any true manual mode are not really legitimate, since this camera is not exactly a numerical SLR, but it achieves the needs and the goal for which it is conceived.


Amazing
I had a Gun of MP 7.1 and I when I saw this one I had to obtain one. I like it absolutely. It is durable, fast, and makes very that I need. One bad temper that I have is due open subsistence of cover of battery to the manner I hold it. It is kind of pain but it is not an enormous problem. It takes the most astonishing images and the assistances of stabilization of image with the fast images and handing-over. I like this camera so much that I already bought it for my family of brothers.

Beauty Inside & Out
It is a gift in a seizing way beautiful to give and receive. The camera is of the 12 incredible MP and is marvellous to employ, thin and silver plated and elegant. The case is distinctive coach and very functional and beautiful to carry. The unit has even a neck-belt plastic-packed out of metal which is very elegant, and a chart of camera thus you can start to take photographs immediately. Destined to be a legend
I had around the numerical cameras a dozen during years and always was with the research of holy Graal of quality of image. I finally found it 2 years ago with the EOS 5D, a megapixel 12.3 of full-braces Gun DSLR. Recently, I decided to see whether I could find a contract which even came close to the 5D. Well, conjecture what? Here. Except the 5D, it is the best camera than I ever employed. The hands in bottom of the quality of image as superb as it comes... smooth, crunching, well is exposed, and cleans. I have now take- does not import where with the jet right in my pocket when the 5D would be surpuissant. Make confiancemoi when I say that this camera will be a legend. It is that good. In fact, I will probably take still when its succcesor leaves and them falls of the prices. UPDATE: After having employed my standard deviation 950 A PLACE during few weeks, it is clearly not something close to a Gun 5D. Although there is much Pixel, the power of resolution 950' S simply cannot compete with an objective of L-class of Gun. No surprise naturally but expect the pro quality right because you have 12 megapixels. I always like standard deviation 950 IS for what it is but does not make any error about what it is not.

it was much easier to install camera than other had marks before its very easy to use, indicates my wife, and she admits with being a true newbie at the cameras. the battery holds a good load, indicated long time. the software is easy to also employ the first product of gun ever had, but not last the adjustments of this camera in my pocket and me of shirt take it almost everywhere that I go the very light titanic reinforcement, that allows really the tiredness of withoutarm of use would recommend as a camera of a beginner, are owed with the facility of employment the camera and from quality the first class for Juste some dollars disappear moreover! its in value each penny!


Just what I have been waiting for!
I have to admit that I have been sold on Canon cameras for a long time now. I do not even look anywhere else. I own a 30D and 5D and this camera rounds out my "spur of the moment take a picture" need. The features continue to impress me - especially the auto rotate feature when previewing pictures. The 12mb picture size allows me to take poster size pictures. After its initial introduction I waited several weeks until the price came down and have been rewarded accordingly.


Great Camera!
It is a large camera. It takes excel it PEAKS. I like the identification of face, and the capacity to correct the red-eye on the camera. It is a vigorous camera with a good number of devices. I only had it one couple of the months, but thinks that it was good in value the money. I also like the fact that it is small, but powerful. I like the slr, but do not have always the part to carry a large camera. My two last numerical cams were Kodak and they were correct, but the quality of image is well better with the Gun. I would recommend this camera for no matter whom.


Canon PowerShot SD950IS
This camera is a replacement for my standard deviation 300 of Gun which was a marvellous camera. However, it had for it need updating at the last technology. The SD950 contains just about something which you could ask inside a small very portable camera. The identification of face functions very well just as the internal capacity to correct the red eye. Obviously the majority of the people do not need a camera 12.1 of MP for the typical projectiles, but periods ago when you want to make significant modifications of Pixel when you need all the Pixel which you can obtain. Assistance of stabilization of image considerably. Before I had to take projectiles of low light with the timer to prevent the jolt right by pushing the button of projectile -- now I can take a projectile in conditions of lower light (when I do not want the flash) without agitation. The resolution of screen is excellent and displayable good side angles. The secrecy with large frank projectiles has the camera with you. It is small and enough light to put in your pocket or purse or thus attaches to your belt with a small case you can always be ready to draw. Leave your SLR at the house unless you know in advance what you will draw and maintain the SD8950IS handy. I employ this more than any of my other numerical cameras.


950 lost some of the features of the 750
The Canon SD 950IS takes good pictures, but the change from a relatively cubicle shape to a 'jelly-bean' shape makes it hard to hold, and difficult to place on a flat surface. Also, it is much thicker than our SD750, and the bulk makes itself felt when trying to hold the camera for multiple pictures. It simply does not fall into the hand the way the SD750 does. This appears to be change for the sake of change, rather than a real improvement. We find that we continue to use the SD750 more than the recently purchased SD950IS.


So glad I got this camera
Last year I got a Vivitar camera for my girlfriend and it bummed us both out. No matter what we did it took 5 second from click to shoot. Settings, lighting conditions, all kinds of changes and it didn't matter. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. ding!

By then people lost their happy face and replaced it with a blink, a fake happy face, etc... My girlfriend is a big scrapbook nut and this camera was driving her nuts...

NOT ANY MORE!

I got her the Canon camera and now her only problem is she has too many photos to scrap with... Click wah...ding! Not even a second goes by unless we are in really dark lighting or we are moving. Then it makes adjustments and still it is like 1, t... ding!

She can get action shots now. Great since both of our kids are in sports. She used to have to guess 5 seconds before her daughter hit a ball or 5 second before my son poll vaulted over the bar or 5 second before my son took down another wrestler... It was maddening!

I would suggest getting the SanDisk 4 GB Extreme III SDHC Card with MicroMate USB 2.0 Reader (SDSDRX3-4096-A21, Retail Package) San Disk 4 GB Extreme III. Your pictures at 12mp are going to be large and you need 4 Gb to take 100 photos. It is extreme on the data transfer so you can click, click, click and not wait for the transfers to happen. Plus, it has a USB reader included so if you are somewhere that doesn't read SanDisk cards, you have a USB solution.

Has more features than I will ever use but comes very close to a dslr in quality of photos and ability to do manual settings.


Super shot
Just started using this camera, but am amazed at the sharpness of the photos. Always liked my Olympus, but I think this is going to be my favorite!

Excellent Camera
I just returned from a photo shoot at the beach using my new Canon PowerShot SD950IS (with a SanDisk 2GB Extreme III SD card), and my Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1 MP SLR camera (with a SanDisk 2GB Ultra II CF card) with a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM lens. I had each camera set to the maximum resolution, and took a number of "identical" pictures with each camera. I fully expected the Digital Rebel (2 lbs, 15 oz) to outperform the SD950IS (6.5 oz). To my amazement, the result was just the opposite. The detail, sharpness, clarity and color in the photos taken with the SD950IS were noticeably better. I don't intend to ditch the Digital Rebel, but will definitely feel that I'm not compromising on quality when I leave the bulk behind and travel with the SD950IS.

I had the numerical cameras a dozen different of vivitar to the casio, the of the same Sony and guns this camera however, the offers the Pixel of méga of a DSLR on a point and a growth. The liquid crystal display is large, luminous and beautiful and a sight has to him as well and offers tons of small turns. I like it!


Simply the BEST camera you can get! It really is THAT good.
This is one of the nicest, fastest, well built cameras I have ever seen.

Startup times are near instant, from the push of the power button you will be ready to snap.

Menus are well-designed and laid out in a logical, easy to use setup.

Image quality is fantastic. The face detection feature works as described, and colors are clear and vibrant.

good pictures flimsy construction
I found images of catches of camera the maid but the payment of the additional money titanic construction is a joke which titanium is very thin and almost like the plastic. I carry the camera of tha in my pocket and it also has scratches close to the cover of battery the lock of doesnt of cover of closed battery the majority of the times where I draw it out of my pocket the open noises of cover I put a mean piece of band of conduit above the cover to maintain it closed my son carries images of the needle a 770sw. of Olympe are not as good but are not built like an impermeable with water and shock-proof tank. if you use the gun from time to time is very well for day laborer employ Olympe much more durable


Best PowerShot Yet! Highly Recommended!
This is my second PowerShot in the series. I loved my SD900, but it didn't have Image Stabilization. It makes a huge difference on this current camera and the pictures look much better. I think the colors are a bit more vibrant too. I bought it as my "carry camera" when I don't want to lug around my Rebel XT. Nice small camera. Fits well in my shirt pocket. Very sturdy feel and construction. May be too small for people with big hands. Picture quality is great.

The SD950IS looks almost identical to the earlier models and shares the nice sturdy, high-quality feel that has made these cameras quite popular.

I had a great time with the earlier version of this camera on my trip to Disney World. Was able to tweak the ISO settings to take pictures w/o flash in very dim areas. ISO 3200 mode was quite fun to play with. You pay a price for the noise introduced in the pictures, but it's still a clear picture where you may not normally be able to take one. At normal ISO settings, the pictures are clear with vibrant colors. The Image stabilization on the SD950IS should make for even more flexibility and fun.

I've also been impressed by the movie mode on this camera and it's ability to make decent (not fantastic) movies in fairly low light.

Like others, I wish the camera had more manual control, but for most purposes it's fine. When I need more control, I can use my Rebel XT. Suggest you buy at least a 2GB SD card. I also recommend Lowepro Ridge 10 (Arctic Blue) as a small camera case.

It's a great camera, and it was a great deal from Amazon!
The problem with Canon digital cameras is that your lens become stuck eventually and the repairing costs are expensive (if the camera is not in its guarantee period).

I obtained, good... asked for this camera for Christmas... that I obtained it early to try it outside to make sure that I liked it. I was accustomed to having a Gun Powershot S70... liked it! ! However, it was stolen when I it have accidently left in the bathroom during 10 minutes. I appeared I had this camera since 2004 and I was sure that new technology had since then left and had wanted something of smaller. It is and CORRECT camera. Sure, it is smaller than my Powershot S70 but all my images have the red eyes, even with the reduction above. And, the probe of face starts out of expenses but as soon as you will really take the photograph it reduces to the bottom with a face. And, the dial on this... glance narrowly compared to the other new cameras of Powershot turns easily. You could have it in your pocket or purse and draw it and not note that it is not any more on the automatic mode but on the manual mode because it turns too easily. I will take this back of camera and will obtain a less expensive camera to leave and could even order my old Gun Powershot S70 still since it took LARGE the PEAKS... Another thing... I do not see difference 12.1 of megapixel. Sure, you can bourdonner but really... with this type of camera... how large are you active to blow these images to the top... if a your pro - you will have a much better camera. To save $$$>and go hand in hand with something which takes good the PEAKS and if you want the pro PEAKS... invest it technology. Now that I wrote this... not out of the offer I on ebay for this Powershot S70 - you will see at which good point it is that even after it coming outside in 2004 motionless efforts $300 on ebay -... back USED out of I 2004 paid $500 him... And, if you read this and are the person who took this Powershot S70 out of this bathroom in the value of pi, TX - hope you appreciate this review and want to send all large the PEAKS to me which I took of this night. BIG MONEY FOR BLURRY PICS
This camera cost so much money compared to the blurry pics it creates. If something isn't standing completly still then the pic blur's. For example my new born niece's were sitting in cribs. I went to take a pic and the camera has huge lag beofre taking, then Sofia moved her head to the left and all i got was a blurred pic. This has happend on more the 50% of my pics and it is upsetting. I had a canon before this one and it s=did the same thing. I figured for more money I would get rid of that problem, but nope. Also I hear this camera has a problem some "E??" error. I would check it out becaus eit is supposed to render the camera useless. So if you do buy this item well i wish you the best of luck.


A little disappointed :(
I bought the camera for my wife like Christmas present. I guess that I to just am awaited me something better for the price. The quality of image outside is decent, NONLARGE. The quality of image inside with low lighting is not only large - typical for the numerical cameras. I also made the manual choice and raised the OIN but the images proved too grained. I employed with clean the first series of the Gun G (megapixel 3) bought him more than 5 years there is and quality is almost the same one. The only thing that I like about this camera is that it is compact and it comes with a great software to organize the images (GREAT SOFTWARE!!!). If you seek something which takes large the image and not too concern concerning the size, I would suggest looking in the series or Nikkon D40 of the Gun G.


I Love This Little Camera
I just obtained this like a first present and me of Christmas like it. The pix are splendid, the orders are layed intuitively outside and to employ quickly, and it has of Juste enough of hand drive operations to make interest it but not as much as it becomes muddling. I have rebellious XTi, and I obtain as a good or better point and a car the pix with this little 950, probably because it is so light and rapid to employ. I missed many projectiles with the rebel while I futzed with arrangements. Moreover, I like to compose the projectile by looking at the screen of liquid crystal display on the back, rather than to disfigure by a sight. I can better see what occurs with the subject I want to draw and I think just that I obtain better projectiles which manner. The camera is small but not as tiny as it loses in your hand. The stabilization of image is good. I have a practice of breathing inside while I adjust the projectile, then holding my breath when I take the photograph to reduce the jolt of camera to the minimum, and this work spouts out. The pix are pointed and the color is very the truth-with-life in automatic mode. You can place the OIN at 1600 to obtain the pix in the low light without employing the flash. I do not have much red-eye with the instantaneous tho, except on the dog. In a general way, very nice. Look at good, smells itself well done; good quality of Gun. I am very happy with it.


Design issues, cheap assembly
The problem with the SD950 camera is the same as other SD cameras, the design of the panels leaves big gaps between the panels (mostly on the top of the camera), this camera has realy big gap problem. Canon has cut some corners to save money and this makes the camera look cheap. It is a shame because the material used for the outer panels is of excellent quality.
The plastic battery door is also cheap and flimsy.
Suggestion for the next SD: more screws to well tight the outer panels, and better battery doors, and, please, keep production in Japan!
The best SD camera so far: SD850.


too much hype!
I just bought this camera there is 1 week. I did many reviews of reading, since that is very that I could do not do them cary this camera in the stores which you can check it outside. Biught I it with my sorprise, too much exaggeration for nothing! I have Pixel and it S410 Gun a 4mega to have the same devices and same the PEAKS of quality! I am a soldier of marine thus I take the PEAKS of the fresh substance on the base and the camera his Juste a money wasting. If you want to have a camera looking at nice it is the camera for you. I of the sudgess to you would buy S410 for 100 males insted of the 950


I like!
I like this camera. I always explore all the devices which this thing has, and can never not obtain to entirely use them all. The device of detection of face is... fantastic. The automatic stabalization of image... large. The visual capture, with the noise I could add, seems very good up to now too. That functions even well in the low light. The screen does not erase at all insofar as I can say, even in the light of the sun direct. Any unit this camera makes a large package which adapts in your pocket as well as majority of the modern telephones of cells. Moreover, this camera looks at so good that you want just to show it with everyone... but not left their for touching! If there is to the bottom side, it is that the range compacts camera in this moment limited the optical buzz. Perhaps the next generation of the contracts will have 10X or optical bourdonne...... waiting de.can' T! !


This is a great camera.
I bought just this camera and took some large photographs. The 12MP makes really a difference, it is astonishing how clear the images are. The camera makes well in the darkness as well, just must find good arrangement to you. Thus people complaining that this does not function in the darkness, do not listen, do not extract work perfectly both in the darkness and the light. It also has some devices that other cameras do not have, like the red reduction of eye, and the images in the darkness come out also of because really luminous of an increasing device. I had Sony before and I can say with certainty that this camera convinced me of the superiority of gun. Moreover, I noted that a good number of people complained (correctly thus) about the grained photographs that other models of standard deviation of gun take, spout out this one does not do that, the images are VERY clear. The only one on the tilted side is that it does not have an indicator of battery (well, it, but he indicates only one to you or the other when he is completely or completely vacuum). I was hesitant to buy this since it just left, but I was extremely impressed devices and models earlier of Gun of surplus of improvements (SD800, SD870) which I tested in the store. Great Camera!
This is a great camera. Lots of options and easy to use. The battery lasts a long time before needing charged and charges in just a couple of hours. I went on a 5 day trip and only needed to charge it one time. The only thing that I've had any kind of issue with is the battery/card cover door. It is located on the bottom of the camera and seems to be easily dislodged. It hasn't caused any problems though because it is on a hinge.


The best compact digital camera I've used
ASIN Canon SD950IS digital elph.
This is simply the best compact digital camera I've used. After having an Olympus digital camera and 2 canon SLR's (Digital) and having gotten tired of the bulk and weight, this camera really fillls the bill. It is compact as they come, fits in my shirt pocket and takes exquisite photos. I am totally pleased with it. It is also appealing to handle and use. I couldn't be happier with my choice and as always, Amazon made purchase and delivery a breeze. I like the large LED screen and have stopped using the viewfinder all toghther. This is my one gripe is that the range finder and LED display show totally different size images and it is hard to know which one is going to record. I thoroughly recommend the camera inspite of its cost for a compact digital.


Outstanding Camera
This camera is fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great, durable, high quality camera. You will need more hard drive space. The photos range from 2.5Mb to 4.5Mb at the 12Mb setting.
I would also recommend buying the 4Gb Sandisk Extreme III disk, it will reduce the read/write time speeding up performance.

Used this camera on our trip to New Zealand and took some great pictures.
The camera boots and takes a photo in < 2 secs, great for unexpected shots.

Very satisfied with this camera. Great job Canon.


Good compact camera!
It is excellent, well built and compact camera in general. It makes well the majority of things for its size. No camera is perfect for all the occasions. However, the design of the cameras of Powershot must be updated soon!


A WINNER
I have right receipt my Gun PowerShot SD950IS and AM made quiver. After having started with a 2.1mp and then continuing with a camera 5mp, I was impatient to receive a diploma with a camera of MP 10 so that I could capture more detailed photographs and the experiment with the light, the color, etc... I had several numerical cameras...... Fugi, Olympe, 5mp Canon Elph, and maintaining my SD950IS. Support when cameras of 35 millimetres were the thing to be used, it was always the Gun........and which I will remain a faithful customer. Since I frequently travel, a large camera is A must and I cannot wait to examine this outside on a sunny island. I took several projectiles of practice around the house and AM thus applied with results. The camera has the devices of méga which are added not only to its call, but will also make it possible to the owner to test in order to capture the perfect photograph. I also have a Gun Elura 100 which adapts perfectly in a small case of camera, beside my new SD950IS. I passed my Gun 5mp above to my grandson 14 years old and it is made quiver and already fascinating to some marvellous photographs... like his/her grandmother, it also, is hung on the Gun.


Unfulfilled hopes
We were quite disappointed with the inside, close shots in relatively low light. It was very difficult to produce good photos that were well focused. We may return to an 8 MP camera; our hopes were unfulfilled.


Great camera
I cut had the numerical cameras of Gun since S100. All the summer large, good images and very pocketable. Thi is a little larger but they is splendid and large orders. The buzz is much better than the 2x-3x ususal. Another thing that I really like is the optical televiewer, he is not very precise but much of periods I employ it. Higher quality of notch as always.


Awsome picture quality
I obtained this camera 2 weeks ago. The images are awsome. One of my principal concern was about the washing of the liquid crystal display with the sun since my camera earlier Olympe had this problem but this camera does not have this exit. The price is a little high but thus is the quality of the images. The major part of the automatic mode of periods functions very well. Buy at least chart 2GB since 12 images of MP take much space. Chart 32MB provided in this camera can only save 7-8 images of MP 12. I publish my review after having used this camera for one month. The only one on the tilted side I heard other reviews is the images of state of lowlight. But frankly it is not bad for me. The flash functions like the magic even if there is complete darkness, the photographs taken by him do not show a council on this subject. But thats for me. I would like to know of other owners too.

I just obtained standard deviation 950 IS a few days ago and I am very impressed. I used cameras of Sony in the past and Gun the breath left! Very vigorous feeling as well.


Top of the Line Compact Digital Camera
The best digital camera that I have ever owned. It shoots perfect pictures, has an optical viewfinder (many Canon digitals do not) and image stabilization (great when using zoom). Additionally, it has an incredible 12 megapixels and face detection which gives excellent exposure and great detail when shooting people.


Impressed by the quality
I too am not in the numerical world of camera but I bought this one for my wife who previously had Sony DSC P100. After having reviewed several sites of sequence, particularly one which compares only various images in various situations for much of cameras, the SD950 was that which gave to combination the best images. At least the review was not biaised by the impressions and the subjectivity of the critic, photographs right catches by the numerical cameras. I was tried the first time by Panasonic DCM-TZ3 which has on better Spéc. of paper. However, the projectiles in the low light are disappointing for Breaded and the flash is terrible, the photographs taken are balanced at all. To return thus to the standard deviation of Powershot de Canon 950 (or Ixus 960 that I believe, according to your country): = I was impressed the first time by quality that you smell yourselves when you open the box, probably because of titanium; but on this price level, it is normal! = it is a very intuitive camera, the ergonomy is good: it is true that the button "Marche/Arrêt" is close to the button of obturator but it was similar for Sony: very that it takes is a little usually. Moreover it is very easy to employ the mode of film, much easier than with Sony. You can also basically announce publish your film with the assured software = the photographs taken are tall, I will not announce any here, you can go to the flickr. The 12MP can be a disadvantage, particularly if you download many images but naturally you can install your camera to take only 8MP describes for example = the objective is luminous for a point and the growth and the numerical noise are well controlled, even in states of low light = the stabilizing device of image functions very well, Canon employed here an optical solution, which is much, well better than numerical is found on the cameras better gone = the camera is fast, to also energize not only but between the projectiles. I was a little frightened because I ordered regular Kingston 2GB but even placed at 12MP, this is not longer than Sony with 5MP; even in other words with chart of memory regular (no "end" which is more expensive), waiting between the projectiles is satisfactory. Maintaining it against = I would have prefered more manual arrangements. You have many programs (macro including, fireworks, aquarium, etc.) this unit speed and the opening of obturator for you but you cannot place these values yourself. It does not mean that you cannot place anything yourself, you can adjust white balance, compensate for the exposure, etc but you would like to be able to install the opening and/or speed, particularly if you had a SLR before = with the large screen of liquid crystal display, the life of battery is only correct. I would encourage you, if you still have some males, to as well buy a second battery sold E on the Amazon. Recapitulate, unless if you want absolutely to be able to order your point and pushes like a SLR, for the SD950, you does not regret it!

We took the camera on the Panama Canal Cruise. It took great pictures and great movies. I recommend getting the SDHC 8gb Memory card. The battery life would drain a little too quickly. The Camera would of been perfect with a 5x zoom.

Incredible! The images are pointed and quite exposed. I had to put the resolution concerning m2 because of volume of file. It is a tad larger than my other Elph but still small emough to be adapted in my pocket or lines. I also bought the package acessory of Gun. Case, wrist of battery and belt of neck. To achieve the package I also bought the card reader of Kingston. It is taken and unit read which functions very well just out of the box. All in all it is a package which will be with me for a long time.


Awesome Camera
I had several models of standard deviation of Gun. It is remote the best up to now for the quality and the devices of image. I know some say that the Pixel of 12.1 megohms are put at death finished for this class of camera. However, it divides some of the devices of new G9 that my sister bought, who is also a large camera. Couldn't be better.
With obtained the SD950 one week ago and I am impressed. The large variety of devices and the many various modes in handbook and automatics are fantastic and cannot be supplemented for a camera which classify. The quality of image is A and handling is easy.


Has it all
Obtained the 2 days there is and me am impressed. Other reviews on the net generally as the camera but think that the price is somewhat raised and MP 12 is surpuissant. A) It is expensive; all the new models of camera are high during several months when they leave. If you can allow it without problem then to you obtain it now. Otherwise your choice is perhaps the SD850 with $150 less or awaiting one moment the fall of the prices. B) The same thing surpuissante was known as when 5 MP, MP 6.... became largely available. 12, 8, 5, and lower arrangements of MP are easily available without entering menu. I place mine on MP 8 and, if desired, will change into MP 12 if the thought occurs for the PEAKS special. Now that you can order the copies classified by poster for cheap prices on Shutterfly and SnapFish you would be astounded by the facility, the cost and the quality of them. Moreover the space of hard drive became cheap and you could now keep 1000' S of 12 files of MP on value $20 of the space of hard drive. The other reviews have it right on quality of the camera and its results. The photographs are pointed, colour precise and, in manual mode, have much SLR, standard choice such as WB, arrangement of exposure, arrangement speed of obturator (long exposure), accent of color, the lock of hearth.....; of not-car the arrangement of film is simple to employ, gives you the choice of HD (15 fps, SL jerked with the fast movement but with the acuity of quality or the standard of 30 fps). Easy to import in the iMovie without additional software of Gun (do not know the facility of PC). The handbook is however the 220 logical pages in English. With few errors, in particular for the long speed of obturator it states to tighten the "menu" but should read the "disp." In conclusion, I emptied my needle 750 of Olympe because I absolutely could take photographs outside sunny days due to the washing of liquid crystal display and NO SIGHT. Before passing Olympe, I had read on their site which the liquid crystal display was "luminous" with the new technology which would not erase. This is why I did not consider the SD700, 800, 1000... which do not have any sight. However, the liquid crystal display 950 functions really good outside although I only employed it times of a couple outside up to now.


Best SD Yet!
It is my third standard deviation of Gun, and it is the best by far. I also have an optical buzz from the S3 Gun IS(12x), but the 950 with 12 very good extreme projectiles of buzz of catches of megapixels and am approximately 1/3 years old of the size of S3. The numerical buzz of 950 growths to 500 millimetres (equivalent of 35mm), and a 8x10 with this buzz misses acuity but really does not have any obvious granulation. S3 will obtain much time of rack.
