WAIT Don't buy it yet
The flick takes ultra the fine of videos just but the transfer of them to your PC is a nightmare. I checked some sites of the consumer and I am not the only person having this trouble. Much more sinister the site is the flick than visual is downwards. The update enumerated here cannot thus be downloaded, making the caméscope useless. Hold in addition to buying this until the flick obtains its act together


Easy to use, decent quality videos
It is easy superb to use well this camera out of the box. That took approximately five minutes to learn all the devices. It uses two batteries of aa. The fixing of him to the computer could not be easier. Since I have already it video to publish the software, I did not take the trouble to install the software which came with the camera. That functions just like any other made numerical camera and puts its files in the shirt of DCIM so that they can be easily copied and stuck like all the other files. This camera will not replace a caméscope of high-end for important events of recording, but it * is * improve for spontaneous videos, doing it video for the sequence, etc... The good: * easy to use * decent video USB integrated * to it of quality * TV produce and include the cable * the tripod produced the bad one: * No slit to add more memory or of disc to a chart of external storage * the audio recording could be a little better (not a business with me since of I overdub usually acoustics in any event)


I loved while it lasted
I bought the flip two weeks ago, and today after i unplugged it from the computer, I watched a video i had made on the flip when it suddenly shut off....and now it won't turn back on. i tried everything and i don't know if there is a reset button? But while i had it I was uploading all kinds of stuff on youtube. even though it lasted two weeks? i am going to buy another one so now im up to 300 dollars, if the nexy one breaks im going to be ashamed at myself. I hoped this help..


This is a MUST have if you want to record and share memories!
I intended to speak the first time about this camera on the exposure of Oprah and I decided to come here to read the reviews. I have a mini-FD very expensive camera of Sony which I recorded of the memories above the end several years but my problem étées how to easily convert them numerically. So that is why I was interested by the visual camera of flick. After reading of the reviews, I felt that the camera of ultra flick was that for me because it had twice as much memory that the regular camera (more me likes the orange option!)I ordered it and as soon as it arrived, I opened the box and the installation took less than small (literally!) I like the fact that it uses 2 batteries of aa and then you fix the date and time and is ready for you to go! As soon as I made it prepare to go, my 6 thrown a glance above my shoulder and said old men of 1/2 year, "ooo, mom, which is this?" So that I answered, "my new visual camera!" It promptly asked whether it could employ it (it had used a numerical camera since it had 2) years and it was not in line and fact him it first video in a few minutes. I like the fact that the camera comes with the visual software from editing/sharing that work on the imper or the PC and is easy superb for him to employ. One thing that I would make echo of the others criticize is which it is a GREAT idea to buy the cable of prolongation of USB because it could be too easy to stop the arm of connection of USB if you not. I did not buy the flick not marked of the cables because I did not see the need for making it colour coded thus I bought the cables to go version so that less money cables go - 19003 - USB of 1M a male to a cable female of prolongation (white) and with very happy AM with that. Since my daughter is thus charmed with the camera, I think that I can have to buy another camera so that I can employ it! Like my said owner, it is "cold dead technology of finger". You will have to raise this out of my cold dead fingers before I give it upwards!


Pocket Movies, Why not?

Great little camera!
I like this small camera. I have 2 others caméscopes and I never employ them. I must worry about charge them, bringing the bag, speed, etc... I am terrible with him and consequently have little video of my kids, family and friends. I captured more visual in 2 months to have this camera than in 5 years of my other cameras. It is not a camera of imagination. Nonlarge for projectiles of distance or imagination. But it is not how I employ it. It does exactly the EC what I have need - saves it video and noise of the special occasions and the frank moments. Love of devices I - small (adjustments in my purse), batteries of aa (no filling, ends per moment), easy remote loading (USB joint, messages of request software), easy to store (a format of library for files of economy gives you), easy with the email (the compress the files thus can you easily email they), with the good noise, and the clear image. This was clearly done with the generation of YouTube to the spirit. Much edition I made by stripped although I think the software which it comes with is very limited. I really do not have a complaint. The only thing that I would suggest for future models is to have a certain type of dismountable memory. I could see needing more than 60 minutes for holidays and not to have a computer available to download. In a general way, strongly recommended. Large gift for new parents, teenager, student of university, etc...


Good
So far I am happy with the flip itself but, the picture of the case was misleading. I did not get the white case that closes. I received a black case with a drawstring closure. When I placed my order I expected to get what was in the picture so although it works it is not the color or style that I wanted and thought I was getting. If their going to make substitions I feel they should at least send you an e-mail and let you know so you can change your order if you don't want their substitution.



Everyone needs one.
I bought this with the intention to appreciate just fascinating videos. A caméscope which was simple and easy to work. BECAUSE I am not a professional.It upwards finished being much more. My mother died last week. I had the practice the FLICK to record my last periods with it. I came to the house and very easily charged it on my computer. Quality was large. I will always make also note that with me now.I which it was the cheaper on the Amazon. Thank you.


why did I wait so long?
This compact video tape recorder takes surprisingly clear videos. It is easy to employ... easy to look at... easy to put on line. It is enough small to take anywhere thus you do not miss all these moments when would not owe you. Large for kids and projects of school! ! A must have! !


Great Camera to take anywhere
I bought the Flip for my boyfriend for Christmas after seeing an ad for it on amazon.com. He had never owned a video camera before and barely uses his digital camera, so I wasn't sure if he was going to like it. But, he ended up loving it. He uses it all the time. It is so easy to upload the videos, too. All you do is plug the pop-out USB into your computer. After the holidays, we were able to share our videos with both of our families by just uploading them on to everyone's computers. The quality of the video is pretty good too.

When we got the Flip, there was a black blotch on the screen. It didn't hurt the video recording quality, but was annoying because you couldn't view the videos on the screen completely. Amazon was very timely about sending a replacement. They did not give me any hassles and it didn't cost me anything for the replacement. I would buy all of my electronics here!


Great product!
I bought this as a birthday gift for my partner, and he absolutely adores it! It's super easy to use, comes w/ batteries in the box, and we've had no problems so far. His 13-year old nieces thinks it's the coolest thing on the earth, and he's the envy of his guy friends (he's 40 btw). We've had lots of fun bringing it to social events. I highly reccommend.


Hum . . .
Nice little film manufacturer, but. . The glances cool. Takes large films, -- but the software is refuse. I cannot download with the PC or the imper the conventional manner -- or the manner of ' flick '. Their levellings do not function either. Shah, -- our IT standard with work could not to even do the work him. I have, however, found a manner of saving films. Must pass by the back door, which has its own rewards? I think that I will keep it -- ' till that I obtain a concept to enter the front one. Nice little camera, but. . .


WOW WOW WOW!
I was very very skeptical on purchasing this camcorder but now that I have it I dont regret making the decision. This baby ROCKS! The picture quality is good and overall its a good performer THANK GOD I made the right purchase after careful reviews of different products costing 2 to 3 times as much. Have to admit that the size of the review screen is not the best wish they had it in 2.5 inch screen but for the price you CANT ask for more. I normally NEVER ever write a review but for this Flip Video camera I just had to let you guys know.... Great product, easy to use and small enough to take it ANYWHERE with you. Very impressed!


Great fun!
All that I can honestly say, I even will never think still of bringing out (relatively speaking here) of the enormous HD-each-possible-trick-caméscope of the test and will capture the daily invaluable moments! The flick does an impressive work, does not require any effort to employ, and is really practical.


Nice product, bad software
I just got my flip video today. The video quality when played back on my TV or computer looks really nice for the size and price of the product. Problem is I can't get the software to install on my computer. Multiple people have said they can't get the videos to play without running them through the software. The files play just fine for me in Windows Media Player Classic (free download on google as part of the klite codec pack) by just simply dragging and dropping them onto my computer. For the price, couldn't ask for a more convenient little camcorder, and even if the software installed it's really no good for anything but transfering videos and I seem to have solved that problem, so overall, I'm pleased.


lousy camera
I bought one of these cameras of flick. If you project to buy one, do not do it. I to have APPLE and me let us not can reach their software without additional software to the bottom of loading which I cannot download. So much now I am wedged with a camera which will not let to me do what the company had promised. This company sucks. I am very disappointed in the Amazon to announce this camera. I bought it basically because I trust the Amazon. Am I the only one who found this equipment tear with far? Moreover it is almost impossible to see the screen of viewing in the light of the sun luminous. Very dissatisfied in these camera and the Amazon.

Great product, great price
This is the second flip video camera we've bought for our 12 year old - who uses them to make movies for youtube and upload. We upgraded to this product from the original because we wanted the tripod feature - not an option on the original flip camera. This is so easy to use. I highly recommend if you have a youngster that wants to make movies - creates great images and sound for not a lot of money.

Handy video camera
It is a large small visual camera. We bought it to replace ancient Sony Handycam which ceased functioning years ago. I liked the idea to be able to transfer immediately fasten them visual with the computer or a DVD, as I currently try to transfer several 8 not very superb cassettes to DVD, which requires a functioning handycam. I also like that this small visual camera uses the regular and refillable batteries. I had problems with the first camera which I received: it continued to close to the top with key of my computer, even after downloading an update required. I could not obtain the access to the programs which are charged on the camera to publish, downloading, etc... Thus I am turned over that first, and was happy that the second did not function very well any problem of the whole with the computer, or the camera itself. This camera is large if your seeking something of the thats easy to employ, transport around and is not safety-technology.


so much fun
I'm pretty bad with anything fancy including all the cellphones so I was a bit afraid to get started with this at first. But the instructions were so easy that within minutes I was already recording a video. So far I have recorded lots of videos of my family and travels (got to Bali even)and I've uploaded them to my computer and yesterday I even emailed 12 of them at one go to my daughter so she can find them online and doesn't have to download them either. I still haven't figured out how to attach the cord to hold the thing and haven't used it with my tv either. I finally learned how to get it to record by just holding the red button until it started! The Flip website had material to download to make the whole experience easier and I did that and just haven't had any problems. The first two batteries lasted for a month with a lot of usage too. I think my daughter would like one of these too although she is using her digital camera for video.


Flip Camera means you don't have to miss ANYTHING
I ordered this camera the day after my little baby nephew (for whom we are "grandparents" for my deceased brother and sister in law.) He was in rare form -- acting silly and singing...doing that irreplaceable 18 month old "stuff" that you can't ever describe fully.

We will not miss one more thing after this flip camera. It is lighter than my cell phone, abut the size of a blackberry, and takes amazingly GREAT video. I used at work for a group team building function and I have enough footage to really embarrass folks at the next Christmas party!

It does need a better type of sport strap, but it couldn't be easier to use. I love it and probably won't ever drag the video camera out again.

Why lose the viewfinder?
I saw this camera today as my boss just got one. I was wowed until I realized there's no viewfinder. I believe many digital cameras are going this route and I don't get it. My 52 year old eyes are presbyopic, a natural occurrence if one lives long enough; I can't focus up close without reader glasses. I could use the viewfinder, if available, without glasses. Also, how does one see the screen in bright sunlight? If it's like my cell phone, one can't. Another reason for keeping viewfinders. My 2 cents.


Terrific
All which you could provide in a shirt-pocket-classified device which is at the same time remarkably inexpensive. The optics/resolution is excellent, healthy just fine collection. An important consideration is the intern-produced platform of computer, which makes it easy to transfer and to dispatch the whereever images there is a computer. I bought this for ten years. He and his/her younger brother made publishing work before you knew it.


Failed
I just received my 80 ultra and that does not function. The noise proceeds it video by approximately 2 seconds. The video does not exploit my video of Microsoft (the last edition). The E-mail did not play once not sent. The recommendation of technology of support, to fix the problem, did not fix the problem. The only good thing that I can say is that it video played well by using the fast time of apples. I guess that I just obtained a bad unit.


Astonishing
The video of flick is an astonishing product. The quality of the images and acoustics are remarkable, coming from a caméscope of 2"x of 4" with storage with semiconductors instead of the mechanical band or disc, of hour a capacity length in ultra the model (proportioned for the majority of the occasions), two cells of aa for the power, orders and simple possibilities of buzz, easy connection to the computer and TV, it is difficult to find anything to criticize. Ah, yes. Acoustics of playback of the internal loudspeakers of the itslf of camera is almost inaudible, but CORRECT on the computer or the TV.

Great product, lousy customer service at FlipVideo
It is a fabulous product. It is incredibly easy to employ (particularly if the software functions correctly, that it not with our first purchase of FlipVideoUltra). You can capture soon, of the videos of remarkably high quality with the click of a button. To save with your order lasts are really easy, also, although appearing out of how to the email they is a little more provocative and takes with some more measures. Our complaint large an east that the service with the customers of FlipVideo, in a word, sucks. We tried to obtain the assistance when we have at the beginning have the trouble to charge the software and the representative was really useless. After one hour, it finished to the top returning us to their assistance of technology... by the intermediary of email! They did not answer of the whole and it took to us trying to charge the software of FlipVideo of a friend to realize that the defect was in the software of our camera installed -- we returned it and the replacement functions perfectly. We also subjected an entirely different question to FlipVideo via their interface on line... and did not receive any answer. The good news is that this caméscope is very intuitive, for the majority... but only if the software functions! : -)


FlipVideo a winner
This small cam provides the pointed image and to the proportioned noise. I employ ultra the 60 minutes model and bought the small tripod for the unit. It is a practical method to record a picturesque disc of your valuable articles and to capture events of interior or outsides. The connection of USB of flick is clever. The red button at beginning and of end is not at the best place but that functions. My unit not because good of fuction of the error of software package. After several discussions with their support, I discovered how to download the correct software packages of their site. That functions very well since then. Recommended.


Easy to set-up, Easy to use, and Expectations met
With open Juste the box 30 minutes ago... that it was a breeze to be installed and employ. I had read all the reviews concerning the difficulty that some had to install the device and attache during a difficult time, but had met any. Here some remarkable points: (video 1)Flip seems to it to have already updated the software packages on the device because when I tried to charge the levelling, a message seemed saying it was already on this level. (2) I did not have any problem using the button "red" record of video as reported by others criticize. Frankly, compared with the keys on my blackberry 8800, it was a breeze to be functioned. (3) I did not have any problem to take it video and to employ it in the automatic producer 6 of Muvee as some others criticize noted. The only turn is that I had to save the first video time it as "mixes film" employing the visual software of flick (which is really stripped in bottom of the version of Muvee publishing the software in any event). Once that I did this, I had entered able it video the automatic producer 6 of Muvee, publishes out of the parts of the video, and make differently than I wanted to make. (4) visual quality, is not as good as a more expensive video tape recorder of FD, but rather decent quality for "videos of family" this glance just very well on my liquid crystal display TV of 52". In short, I strongly recommend this device. It is small, inexpensive, and is produced videos any use decent. Updated firmware---still having issues....
I did not provide that the miracles with this product... I simply wanted a manner inexpensive to record short videos mainly for the use on my computer or YouTube. I have a numerical camera of Sony which does an average work with videos, but after reading of all the reviews 5-to hold the first role on the Amazon, I decided to buy the ultra flick. Several of the reviews here upwards state exits with the software of flick closing with key, but I felt reassured after reading of the flick that there is an update of software package what solves this. I have successfully updated the software before videos downloading at my computer and AM ALWAYS testing exits. Initially with far, I have a new portable computer of Dell which runs Windows Vista. However, the flick declared that the recent update of software package solved the exit-equal software with Vista. The exits which I always test: - the software will close with key upwards. It enables me to draw the videos from the flick to my computer, but once there, the playback is very slow or does not function at all. I will strike the button of "play" and it freezes. I took 3 videos today that I cannot observe because it will freeze. - simply navigation by the menu of software of flick is painful. It takes extremely long (if it does not freeze to the top completion) to choose different the videos, to go between the film manufacturer to the options of division, etc... Extremely frustrating. - the software defabrication (still, when that functions -- sometimes the result be a white film which not play) will automatically truncate my videos at 20 seconds length. I am not sure if it is how one it cense to function, but I doubt him. - visual quality is waste. Still, I did not await the videos perfect and crunching which I would obtain on a caméscope-Juste expensive better than my numerical camera. It looked at very well on the tiny screen of the flick, but in the past on my computer there were lines in the video, the blurriness and an "approximate" glance General. Even when I filmed in luminous lighting. Once that I downloaded these videos with YouTube, quality decreased other further. My numerical camera of Sony does a better work. - the button of recording is annoying (the need to tighten firmly) and the buzz is useless (I counted that for the price) but I could come to end that if the product functioned. - it was difficult to insert USB in the ports on my computer- felt as it was a tight adjustment. Moreover, the manner the ports are arranged on my portable computer, I cannot have the flick connected and my adaptor of power was connected at the same time (to obstruct, but me can obtain the surplus which too much). The pro: - small, nice (I obtained it pink) and easy to carry with you anywhere. - easy to employ (when work of software). - I like the capacity to download videos with YouTube directly. I hope that my unit is defective (since it re-examined such an amount of there 5-to hold the first role, I hope that it is the case? ?) and asked that exchange of the Amazon it for nine.


Love the Flip
I bought the Ultra and it did not work properly. Amazon exchanged it NO PROBLEM. The second Ultra is great. It's compact, easy to use but I found it a bit confusing to upload and post on a web page. After some use, its no problem
A detailed operators manual would be a plus.
Will be buying a few for gift. Great for all ages..teens on up.


This camera has a universe of potential.
The video of flick was given to me because one present of Christmas and immediately I could see that the many things which I could make being with him forcasted in my main thing... Approve the facility of use and "what is it is what is it." Compensate for the lack of some devices. How I would like to really see ENTERED AUDIO! Nothing continuations I more like being able to record a video 480 with my own microphone. Ok, I know that the mic are large, but thinks if I were with a preformance for a band of rock of indie and I wanted to make show their unit on the myspace and all which I could obtain were right the short waves of dominating volume being launched around in the binary put-mixture and push piercing cries. It is as each one video of telephone of camera that you ever listened to acoustics with far from, horrible. The ok, thus without counting that the fact which numerical is not like the analogue and has a limit with the decibals which you can enter, (audio misfortunes of the handycam of following Sony) there was another device I would like to have seen, DISTILLERS! Thus you can obtain distillers, but not really like a numerical camera and certainly not like effective. This camera is large, there is one attatchment underwater for 50 males and it is now my primary education video tape recorder. Screw DVC, there is no imperative reason not to replace actions of band with the presetting dvds or the controls of inch. I would like to see that this thing in future models to have one mic enter thus I can use a shotgun to record interviews with him. I hope for to it video panasonic flick of purchases, they would make a good decision. Welcome with the future, I would have killed for something as this for 145 dollars when I was a kid. The Proof Is In the Videos
The Flip Ultra is a mighty little video recorder. I got this for my 13 year old and it has rarely been out of his hands since. It's sturdy, small enough for his pocket, durable enough to take an unintentional bang or two and takes beautiful videos. The 60 minute memory is perfect and the movies download with ease. Add in it's sleek design and you have yourself a winner. You can't beat the value and the results will surprise you. This is not a toy, it takes really nice, clear videos.
Everyone should have one, it's that good.


Brilliant idea, thoroughly inept execution.
I bought this for my wife to use for impromptu filming of the girls during Christmas, figuring it'd be handier than a conventional camcorder.


We were hit what (what I later learned) the usual problem: it will freeze during video uploads.

We sent it in to Flipvideo (oh, how I wish I had returned it to Amazon for a refund).

4 weeks later, we received (having missed any chance at holiday filming due to a defective camera)the camera.
Well, you can probably guess what happened: the new camera also freezes during video uploads. Someone cut some corners building these puppies. This product could -should- have been brilliant.

Instead it is a big, disappointing, frustrating failure.

I should add that when it's connected to USB it doesn't run off the USB power, instead in continues to run off the batteries,. I should know knows, having seen it run batteries into the ground as it (endlessly) tries to upload the videos.

Additionally, although they promised to remove the previous videos from the camera and send them on a DVD, Flipvideo did no such thing. They left the videos on the camera, and since said continues to malfunction...






Awesome camcorder!!!
This small unit is impressive! ! It is so simple I did not need the directions, of the whole! !. Visual and audio quality is remarkably excellent. The software simple and is abilement conceived. I did not need the directions for that either. I intended to pay with 3 times the price for this quality. The best blow for the male on the market! !

Flip for the Flip
I bought the camera for the school. It could not be easier to employ -- actuate the button, disc, play, refuse. When you want to download, noise right out of the USB and to stick it in the computer. The film rate is not large for the fast movements, but quality is nice and for the size and the money you cannot well better do.


The Fantastic Flip
I am in the love with this small gagit - it is light and enough compact to go up around in my purse, always doing it with the loan for this random visual documentation. It is incredibly easy to employ the edition and the Internet announcing the software which it comes with and recreation to be disturbed with - you can even place your visual assembly in music of your choice. Pretty neat for its purpose
It was one present of Christmas during my 9 old years who continued to exhaust the chart of memory on my camera of point and growth to take videos of his friends, animals stuffed, etc... Since I am all about leaving his abnormal fly of flag, I decided to give him his own camera and to encourage this behavior. This camera was large to this end. The lack of a chart of standard deviation did not import. The majority of the videos at the house longer than 5 minutes will never obtain still observed in our house. The only complaint is that you cannot FF or REW in a video while reviewing it on the camera. We employed the software of edition and is it what you would count for the price. Export in format MPEG-4 is large for the division of the videos that even my mom can open of an email.


The Flip Video Ultra
With taken this in Dominican Dominican Republic and took approximately 5 hours of videos fantastic. Sharp as can be. Easy to employ. I downloaded just the videos on a portable computer and had enough visual time for all the week. This would recommend to no matter whom. Each travels from there wanted one and I am sure that half of them bought.

Don't buy if you're on a Mac
I had hopes raised for the flick and bought a line before first Christmas of my boy of baby. It is easy and aucunes gimlets. Great substance. Then I tried to download. It was a disorder and the only exit was to reload. After hours of the tests I never obtained it to function. Finally I checked and learned that they had a part brought back to fix these problems. Only.... the version of imper would not leave until January. OK, it is February now and I found the part brought back. IT IS ONLY FOR THE LEOPARD! What? The idea with this camera was to make things simple. My experiment was something but.


I'm A YouTuber and LOVE THIS CAMERA!!!
After reading all the comments about the camera of FLICK, I was laid out very little about obtaining this to help me to create my visual series of "Livin ' Emptied It Bas-Carb on YouTube". I had wanted to take the exposure on the road and to make more than just static videos. Thus, I decided to take a chance and to obtain this! The BOY HAPPY I AM Me! ! ! The quality of the video is exceptional for the price and the size of this camera. And the best part is him stabilizes it video for you automatically thus you do not have the syndrome "of project of witch of Blair" with a precarious camera. I drew a video the other day to make cook the bas-carb fried chicken and the camera of FLICK obtained right in the action to me while I made cook. AIMEZ-L' LOVE IT LOVE IT! ! ! But still better was as it easy was to download it video with my computer and then in YouTube. I have a iMac (yes, with all these crybabies which says this camera does not function with a imper -- false!) and reversed out of the port of USB on the side of the camera to connect itself to my computer. There was no software to install and it came well upwards on the computer. I easily imported the visual length which I had the projectile in the iMovie and produced my visual exposure of YouTube as a normal. IT WAS SIMPLE SO SUPERB! ! ! If you are in drawing from the occasional videos, then you must obtain this camera. It will add so much to my visual series of YouTube and I wait with interest to often employ it early and. I was so excited.
It is a large small product to be had if you project on carrying it around in your purse for fast videos. If it is quality you please then your outward journey duty spend little more money and obtain a true visual camera. I like it cause that it is small and conveniant, obtain what you pay basically.


Lasted 97 days. Warning to Buyers
Bought Flip Video Ultra on October 30, 2007. Unit died on February 6, 2008 just a few days after the 90 day warranty expired. Connects to and is recognized by computer but simply does not transfer anything to or from computer. Very unhappy, would never buy again. Also, the original software loaded on it was obsolete when I received it, updated that, and now discover yet another emergency update is needed. Problem is emergency update also will not work. Other drawbacks to this piece of terribly designed junk are that the usb arm built onto it will not fit computer usb ports unless you physically hold the unit next to the port or buy a usb extension cable (if you do not the usb arm breaks off the device). Also has no port for allowing use of SD cards etc to expand video capacity. Very unhappy. Buy something else.


Do NOT Buy a FLIP video Camera
I purchased the Flip in November. Soon after I was unable to copy my videos off the camera. Eventaully the FLip folks had me send the camera to them. They almost broke their arms with the pride of successfully fixing my camera and saving my WEDDING videos. They said they shipped the camera in December. It has never arrived. After many attempts to reach these people they asked me to describe the videos and they "would look around and see if the camera was there". No response once again. Next time I inquired they sent me a new camera and all kinds of accesories as an apology until my camera was found. Now it's February and still no camera. They never answer my e-mails, and if I call they say "we're going to send this up to the executive level". I'm assured someone will be in touch. But they never are. At this point I'm going to return the replacement camera and recommend to everyone to NOT ever buy the Flip Camera.


Crazy easy and fun!
It seems inadequate to make an examination writes something which makes it so easy to make a visual review! Right received my flick today, and immediately proceeded to make, download, and download several videos. This tiny and inexpensive device is simple to use and does what it promises. I am very happy with him!


Nifty Gadget

The software doesn't work
I tried to install the software for this camera on 4 different machines: - large, professional running of xp of recent working station of Dell - a tiger running 10.4 of working station of Macintosh G4 - a current professional of xp of older computer portable of Dell - tiger running 10.4 of powerbook of imper a pro on all the platforms, the initial one install did not work (stopped with errors) - or if it, all the functions of the camera which were announced to take 10 or 15 minutes would have really run during 10 or 15 HOURS (according to the calculated period of the achievement once the number jumped upwards.) Thus the camera is useless for me for any interaction of computer. After having said that, the camera itself was a very pleasant surprise having then read some of the negative reviews. The mine really seems to be a pretty small full unit - apparently in value well beyond what I paid him. I think, given is the function, the image and audio quality is surprisingly good - definitely better than any video produced by telephone of cells than I saw, for sure. Another positive note - support of technology seems to hang with me to try to fix my problem - except which I must interpret all their instructions for the imper since I cannot convince them that I do not work with a PC (I just balanced the account on trying to obtain this to work in Macbook pro.) Being given the reviews in general, I am happy to see I am obviously in the minority with this problem - I suppose that this will culminate on a replacement of camera. - the update of software package of P.S. The of Al did not solve any of my problems one or the other.


Good, but not good enough.
I would be astonished if somebody received a flick which was not defective. CORRECT work of mines but there is something raises some with the devices of time and remote loading. Sometimes after I downloaded the staples visual and removes my flick of the PC, I quickly look at it video in the flick and his gone?(Sometimes). I recommend that each one buys this product with a store where they could return it if there is a problem with the it(Best) purchase. In a general way, it has great quality and its very small and light. That functions V-To better note your home/office.


Excellent product - excellent customer service/support!
My kids got the Flip camcorder for Christmas, and have used it non-stop ever since. The video and audio quality is surprisingly good, and the camcorder is rugged enough for my 5yo to use without too much nail-biting on my part. But the most amazing thing about the product is the SERVICE that is behind it. We had an issue with the camcorder losing memory (not the fault of the device - my kids dropped it several times!), and the help desk at Pure Digital stuck with us until we got the problem fixed. I was very pleased with the speed and helpfullness of the support staff, especially since the problem was completely our fault!

Not Very Good. Too many bugs!
I purchased this camera because I was looking for something that was simple to use, with acceptable quality. This camera falls short, even at the price. After all, you can get a "real" video camera with LOTS of features for about $80 more.

Problem 1: The software that came with it was not compatible with either my Windows XP or Vista computers. In fact, the only thing that the "software" did was convert the video file to .avi format. Even this was the result of guesswork and not because the instructions or software were helpful. You HAVE to run the software, which then does not function, but, it converts your file while it is in the process of "concluding" that it will not work.

BIG PROBLEM 2: In quiet settings, such as a room, the camera records its own internal storage sounds. Every few seconds you hear a strange and VERY noticeable beeping that lasts for about a second. This means that you are NOT going to be able to use this camera to make a decent video (unless there is enough ambient sound to drown out the odd little processor sound that is most likely a burst of data being recorded on the internal memory). So, you can't use it for work, or to make instructional videos, or to make any other videos where sound quality is even remotely a factor.

Problem 3: There is a very REAL problem with the big red record button. It does not register properly when you push it. You can think you are recording because you are certain that you pushed it firmly, but, there the camera sits in "READY" mode, not in "REC" mode. The FLIP people have known about this switch problem for a LONG TIME, for it to still be a problem is inexcusable.

My summary is that the camera is virtually useless. It does not automatically load videos on to YouTube, or any other website. The software is an artifact that does not work on the computer. Second,, the intolerable electronic noise that renders this video useless except as a toy. And, lastly, the ridiculously unresponsive RED BUTTON that controls the record and stop function.

On the plus side, it is small, will store a bit of footage, and you can let your kids play with it because it's not like they'll ruin something valuable.


So Easy To Use
It is the visual camera easiest to employ. I had the camera of vhs, the mini camera of dvd and it is the best by far. Aucuns cumbersome articles to transport with, not and disc right. Instantaneous playback. I have 60 the minute one and I record much the action of my grandchildren with that. I like it. I would strongly recommend this to each one! Once that you test this, you will not go again to anything else.


Videos of Frank, particles, waves
I got this for one reason, and one reason only. Frank. The camera is drawn to him. Yes. He is a tad overweight. Yes. He drinks to much.

I first started filming Frank on my cell phone, when he was eating corn. His bites were methodical and precise, his execution complete, not a kernal remained. Eye contact with the camera all the way through. I lost that phone and the memories contained within it while on a trip. It's somewhere in Central America.

Moving on. I haven't seen Frank since getting this camera, so it is tough to adequately review it. I did break up with a girl that I shot a video of, so from that point of view, it will give a lasting imprint. No. Not that kind of video.

Videos are windows into events that occurred at some point. But...is the presence of the camera in and of itself altering those being viewed? I suspect many of you are looking for something to capture life's little moments - a quickly growing child, a vacation, perhaps a video of you watching your favorite show (yes. So postmodern). Think twice. This act of observance changes that which is being observed. Heidenberg, I think. So? Are you a wave or a particle.

Think on it.

This product works as well as advertised. This is excellent for note taking, documenting a harassment/stalking case and acting silly, if you're into the Youtube thing.


Cool easy-to -use gadget
I just obtained my ultra flick and the sound be in service in 5 minutes. With the difference of much of other users with the software publishes, I did not encounter any problem. But I downloaded the update of flick of their Web site before I took all the videos and with the updated software, there were not any problem. The video and the noise seem very well for a device costing 150 males. And I have already a group of mixtures of recreation in 10 minutes!

Great Little "Keep it in my Purse" Camcorder
My "good" caméscope, a miniDV of Sony died last month, just as I started to create my clean podcast visual on my Web site. The replacement of him completely would have cost more than 5 hundred dollars, something which I did not have. After hearing is delirious about the flick of a friend, and reading reviews here, I decided that it would be a good camera of placeholder until I could allow me good. I must say to you, because which to resemble a small camera of toy, the quality of the video astounded me. Not, it is not same quality that my Sony, but I did not buy this camera seeking the quality of MiniDV. I can provide a list of things which I wish the flick ultra had, but I know that mended that well to obtain these things 100-200 would add additional dollars to the price. - thus not, there is not any true buzz, and to employ the numerical buzz 2x unjustified and is destroyed the quality of the image. But I did not make any stripping which required the true buzz. - to be able to employ charts of standard deviation in more of built in the memory would be fantastic. The memory of 2 gigs (1 hour) on was ultra more than enough for a full voyage of road in Maine - we did not come close exhausting it all. - the quality of sound could be little the best, but I do not have any hearing of problem it, and when I publish films on my imper, I manually amplify just volume like necessary. And it is not always necessary. One of the great advantages of the ultra east that the files save in the format of AVI, thus I connect it with my imper, drag the files more, and no translation of kind is required. (I do not have this luxury with the camera of Aiptek of my son, a competitor for the flick. I must employ the software to seize these files.) A council - we had bought some batteries of store of the dollar around the holidays and I employed them in the flick and the side effect was that it started to freeze upwards on me. I do not think that the batteries provided enough to power conformed to the camera. I drew those and put in named batteries of the level aa of "electronic" of mark and all congelation to the top of the problems immediately left. Not cheap outside on the batteries. They seem with the end a rather long time, and you can always obtain the refillable ones.

Amazing for the money
I looked at the flip ultra for a while before deciding to pick one up. I was excited I did within minutes...but blown away within hours. We were on our way back from a short trip out of state. I picked it up at a Best Buy and started filming in the car within about 2 minutes of starting to open the package. I filmed several random shots of my wife and daughter on the way home. I walked in and sat down at my MacBook Pro and wanted to see how easy this would be. EASY.

The camera appeared on my desktop, I opened the drive, drug the video files into iMovie, and went straight to editing with no conversion. (However I did already have Divx installed)

The footage was better than I expected. The video with decent to good lighting looked about how I had expected, but the lower light video looked better than I could have imagined. Sure, it wasn't great...but it was low light.

For the money this was a must have for me. I own an older and fairly high end DV camera and I'm researching a new HD camera now. The thing is, sometimes you can't get to those...or you don't want to carry them around. This camera is small, great quality, and easy to operate. We leave it lying around so if the kids start to do something we can grab it and be filming in seconds.

My wife wants her own and our 8 year old is trying to convince me that she needs one as well. The thing is, she probably does.

Pros:

Easy to use Flip Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-minutes
I bought several of these Flip Ultra camcorders for Christmas presents for our family members spread over the world. They are excellent, easy-to-use, and pocket-sized, so we can take them everywhere. A great product!

I bought this video for my husband as a Christmas gift. He liked it pretty good and start to use it right away.It seemed easy enough to use. it didn't take a second to find out how to use it.

After 3 exchanges, this last unit I got back from Flip finally works now. I think they updated the firmware or whatever. 10 stars for their tech support.

The only inconvenience was to look for a UPS store to ship the thing back; and, missed the chance to take it to CES 2008 to take some video.

OTOH, I highly recommend this camcorder. (when it works of course) It is small. It is pocket sized. It is easy to use. Unlike other brands, there is nothing to flip out before you can use it. The picture quality is not bad. Low light performance is pretty good. It comes with a metal tripod hole. And for trying the unit, I pointed it to my TV one time and it took a 2-hours video with the AA batteries before the batteries ran out. The software that comes with the Flip is pretty good too.

On the down side, the batteries get very hot when I let it runs for 2 hours. There is no image stabilization. So, you better have a steady hand to hold the camcorder. But this is not major. The major problem is that the battery negative lead inside the right battery compartment is flat and it is placed inside the plastic casting. Sometimes some of the rechargeable AA batteries (ones that have a flat bottom) cannot make contact to the negative lead.

Of course the Flip can't match the performance of the Sanyo XACTI I saw in CES 2008. but for 1/10 the price of the Sanyo, the flip is a winner.


Flippin' Fun
I bought this product because most of my family lives far away from me. My kids are in High School and involved in a lot of different activities. The videos I take and share with my family are priceless and a lot better than just a verbal decription. The videos are very clear and the software very easy to use. The fact that it will condense the videos for email is even better. Oh,and the kids like to use it too to share events with their friends. Everyone likes to see themselves on video. My only problem so far is the front casing where you change the batteries fell off while I was taking video of the family skiing. With my gloves on I did not notice I was actually opening the compartment and lost it.


Worthless Junk, Poor Customer Support
My experience with my Flip camera is nowhere near as glowing as many of the reviews posted. Unfortunatley, I am also past the warrenty date, so I am stuck with this little paperweight. Buyer beware.

I took a few clips of my Grandaughter and decided to put them on my computer. The camera-imbedded interface came up the first time and then imediately froze up. An instructional pop-up informing of a firmware update appeared, and when the update completed, the "flip" editing and saving guides were gone, along with two of the three clips. The remaining clip somehow saved as a windows media player file. But the "easy to upload" to YouTube panel that was originally there from Flip, along with the Flip easy edit tools have vanished.

Emails to Flip have given me nothing I can use to fix the problem. The replys are all in tech-speak, which left me with a product that was obviously thrown on the market before the bugs were all removed. Worthless.


Great Camera!
I like it b/c that I am on the outward journey and it is small, light and so easy to employ. I have 5 kids and it is large with the video immediately and the watch immediately. We upwards finish observing it more video than we ever made with the cassette attaching of the adhesive tape to the visual cameras of the days afterwards. It takes place about time!


CHristmas Bonus
I bought this camera for my husband while it was going to see his family for Christmas and I was going to be able not to make the voyage because of work. It finished to the top of that which I went length and we obtained the big length of the whole family the Christmas Day that I could then divide with my family as well. It was very easy to use this camera and we could download our length on each one computer of other so that they could have a copy. Quality seems also large on my 37"tv.


No Rechargeable Battery
My Experience with cameras with no rechargeable battery is awful.
If you use them alot the battery might not even last a 60 min give or take a bit depending on the camera.
With coppertop duricells and lets face it lithiums are really expencive.
Your wasting your money on batteries.
Save yourself the headache get a camera with a rechargeable battery.


Did not FLIP and returned
Reverse the caméscope of series of ultra video, 60-Minutes (black) I bought this article of the Amazon and returned the Juste three weeks later. The article did not initialize on one or the other of my two computers like device identified of USB on its third use. The assistance of the FLICK ensured 24 hours to receive and their suggestions did not function. For the price and the size I had hoped that it would be a great addition with my photographic equipment but it is obvious that realizers of FLICK needs the "proof of ball" this product and reintroduces it at the market when that surely functions. Thus I returned it. Use with prudence!


Flip Video Ultra
I already have a numerical camera of high end and sought a fast camera of the access camcorder/digital. This adapts the invoice. Distillers can be captured by using the software included. Great visual results. Would have given that 5 holds the first role if the resolution were in the méga and the buzz were more than x2. In a general way I employ the this more this numerical high end for daily tightening.

Easy to use, however I had lots of problem with a software upgrade. Not as easy too copy or e-mail.


Can't beat it for price and ease of use
We obtained this for Christmas and we could immediately employ it after the opening it and inserting the batteries. It was so easy our six year old old man could appear out way of recording. I like the size! ! ! I carry it in my purse or pocket thus I can employ it anywhere any time -- with the difference of a cumbersome expensive video camera. Certainly it is to have better capacity 60 minute that 30 the minute one. It passes by double batteries of aa rather quickly thus a battery charger could be a good investment. We employed this to send the email visual to our family. We could easily connect it to our TV to observe our videoclips immediately. The software which it comes with is very good with some options of basic edition. You can add the music, made options of model of vintage, black and white, and 3 other. I could transfer my videos to my manufacturer from film from Windows where I had more options of edition. I appreciated these small thing and very happy AM with my purchase up to now.


Good Enough for My Teen
We bought the flick for our daughter for Christmas and it was very excited when it saw what it received. It could employ it with good results and without being referred to the instructions. The only disadvantage seems to be that it eats batteries quickly (consequently the 4 holds the first role), thus if you project on employing this for much shooting, you ensure to have to you the abundance of the batteries in hand.


Flip Ultra is ultra easy to use. Excellent for day-to-day family video
For its price, it is a large product. Stripped one moment of my kids missed since I have ultra. The time of setting with fire-towards the top is superb. Quality is it which-you-pay-for, not HD, but very very good. It obtains 4 holds the first role during the limited time of capture. If there is a slit of chart of memory to increase the time of capture beyond 1 a.m., then the pleasant life of battery can be entirely used. The use of a chart of memory can also allow a faster file transfer. The life of battery of the batteries of aa is large. Perhaps the flick can make a version of "HD" in the near future by adding a slit of chart of memory, sticking to the batteries aa with the long life, adding a standard cable of USB and/or by giving more flexibility to reverse-outside the connector of USB to adapt to various configurations connecting all while maintaining the device accessible. A good number of recreation by using it. The quality of the video will not be disappointing. One can be surpised with at which good point it looks on the PC and in particular the non-HD TV. Great work, reverse ultra.

Best gift we received this past Christmas! It's easy to use, recharge, and edit the videos you record. Comes with it's own editing software that allows not only editing, but gives you the option to capture a single picture from a moving video. We also purchased the protective case and tripod which have been used quite frequently.

Great little gadget!
I bought this as gift for my been engaged because she said that we needed a visual camera to take voyages for "our reports together". Well, I have Sony VX2000 which is an impressive caméscope, but one envisages it for a more serious work and is little tall to take holidays. Thus, I stumble through this on the Amazon and after having looked at around, I decided to buy one. It could not be happier! (well, the ring of interlocking took the central stage, but it was excited on this subject too!) If you buy this for what one cense to be it; a recreation, very portable and easy to use the caméscope, you will be very satisfied. If you buy it wanting to be next George Lucas or Steven Spielberg, do not waste your time. It is very easy to use and its small dimension compacts makes him a bellyband to throw in a pocket/purse with taking the road. It has the visual capture of surprisingly good quality and very a rapid to start to the top timing. A flick of a button and the flicks of connector of USB outside and are ready for you to download your videos with your computer after shorts, programs art of the car-portrait-loading installs. The life of battery seems to be very good. It it is economically employed during approximately a month and we are always on the first whole of batteries. If I were to feel sorry for me, and trust me, I really do not want to complain about this small fantastic thing, it would be the buzz. The buzz is very limited and does not have a good range. That being said, I did not hope to have a buzz or anything teleobjective narrowly. The buzz is the only weak part of this caméscope and that does not reduce even the total package. Catch right a stage or two forwards or backwards. Veiled! Buzz!

ultra flip camcorder
I bought this caméscope for a special event. It is easy to employ and visual quality was large. The sight this is proportioned more in the face. I could record on DVD of my recorder at the house and give them to the members of family. It was large. I project to employ it completely a little this summer. We live in the thousand areas of islands and have a boat. Many large films and images to be taken there.


Not Quite A Flip Flop
Purchased the Flip camera. Good price, decent little 'throw away' camera. Decent value. That being said, expect what you pay for. With this inexpensive camera, you don't get good quality shots, you don't get good sound, you don;t get a decent zoom (take 3 steps closer and you pretty much duplicated its zoom capabilities). DO NOT GET IT IF YOU HAVE A MAC/APPLE. It says that its software works on both Mac and PC, but it doesn't. The video transfers over easily, but the sound is all gabled and not usable. We have to put it on a PC, then burn them to a disc, then upload the disc to the Mac. Anyway, it's a decent little one to leave in your backpack or purse or car, but don't rely on it to capture important events.

We bought this camcorder for our daughters this Christmas. They absolutely love it. They love making their own little movies and the picture quality is really pretty good. We were able to put their movies onto disc without any problems. The batteries seem to last a good time too. Now my husband wants one for his birthday to take with him when he's out biking trails.

Well worth the price
The flip ultra is an easy well thought out product. It takes great video and is easy to tranfer to other devices. The ultra takes great video and is great for action shots. I use it mostly for shotting extreme sports. The quality is great and easy to get. I would recomend this flip video to any beginner through pro.


Simple? ...Yes!! ......But Beware
It is a large small inexpensive visual camera which is MARVELOUSLY simple to use. I bought last a very impressed week and AM of visual and audio quality. Image and quality of sound compare with the coarse caméscope of VHS which I used towards the end of the Eighties which was very good. My visual camera of flick functioned well out of the box without problems. The book of instruction can be read in 5 minutes and is very clear and simple. I like this small camera. A word of council however: People considering to buy the flick the need for visual camera to be certain that them, or the user has basic knowledge full with the computers. I know that this resounds obvious the majority of the people, but there are people outside there, in particular the old men who are attracted with the idea of simplicity, particularly in the respect with electronics however they are not educated computer. They become exhausted and buy articles with the hope to appreciate them to be rolled up only upwards with the destruction due to a lack of qualifications of computer. You do not need avançées qualifications, but a full basic knowledge to install the transfer of software and file is A must.


Very Simple and Useful
With open the package and reads instructions, and I left. If simple I could not believe it. The husband connected with the TV and observed we it rectify then. It had observed video on thats of the Amazon what sold to me! Not more with the cumbersome caméscope. With granted quality is not a caméscope, but for the fast projectiles of the Juste about anything really I cannot better think of anything. The husband employs it to record the interior from our 77 Corvette, with images.


Easy to use!
I have a new baby with no time to read instruction manuals and I didn't have to for this camera! It's so intuitive and easy to use, you can start using it immediately. The built in USB is great so you don't have to worry about losing a cord. Love it!


mixed opinions
on the one hand the quality of the video is astonishing for the size and it is easy to employ price of the caméscope the caméscope and it is easy to download with your computer (although you must install their decoder 3ivx in order to obtain them with the videos with play/convert with another format)... who is a light trouble but with nothing too principal my problem is after having downloaded the videos on careful listen can intend you to make bleep-bleep which the camera or the decoder puts in the visual file to make bleep-bleep occurs on all my videos, and I also heard it on others videos taken by the ultra flick which I sought on the youtube and found other users who test this also well thus it is not a simple defective unit. the majority of the people it is apparent, but with me it is certainly there and obstructing now I discuss if it is enough of a problem to return it which is a shame because there is no other camera for the price which I would obtain in the place... thus I just would be wedged without caméscope still.


great little camera
This is a pocket shirt-sized little video camera that of course is easy to carry around and use. The small screen is well lit and there are few controls to confuse us. On, off, zoom, delete. The usb connection pivots out for immediate download to your computer. I purchased, for 5 bucks, a usb cable from Amazon to use for this because I do not want the camera hanging from the port.

New users should be aware that the company requires an immediate firmware upgrade to fix some software flaws. Once this is done, the system works well. I upload my videos to Utube just to store them. Hardly anybody will see them but that is my choice and it's ok.
I carry mine around for taking small videos of daily life; shopping in Walmart, getting gas, walking the dog, whatever. Unfortunately, in today's security obsessed world, this is not always possible, so use some discretion.

I do not foersee making video cameras any smaller, just because it would be hard to hold them.


I love this little camera!
The only thing I would say is that if you want a stable video, get a tripod, that's what I plan to do because my videos are all a little shaky.


Ultra Flip Camera
I absolutely love this camera. It's so easy to use, I carry it in my purse and have it handy at all times. Just aim and shoot. As a grandmother, there's always memories happening. The video is crystal clear. I have a regular video camera and it just sits in the closet. Since I received this flip, I use it almost everyday. Give it a try and see for yourself.



One Major Flaw
The caméscope is exceptionally easy to employ, and takes to it video decent quality, BUT... when you bourdonnez inside or outside while recording, the hearth is not adjusted. Basically, if you start out of the recording with far and bourdonnez inside during the recording, the image becomes and remains turbid. I much rather would make neutralize the option of buzz while recording which have out of the videos of hearth. Now I know this whim.


Fun camera
It is a large visual camera for my 9 years old son and his friends. They have a great time to make the idiotic and creative videeo. Resounds of laughing when they play them behind! Easy to employ; easy to download videos to the PC.


Great product ... easy to use.
I bought this for my parents and the parents of my girl friend, the two sides have the difficulty with technology and the computers. However, they both seemed easily flick of use that it actuating the camera is very easily for them and now they can download with the computer with the software already installed on the camera. I am sure that the quality and the devices of image are not until the par with many others caméscopes numerical, but it is a large camera for the price.


Flip Video Camcorder
Bought the Flip Video Camcorder for my wife as a X-Mas present. She loved it and loves how easy it is to use. It will not replace a full featured digital camcorder (only a 2x zoom), but nothing beats the price and how simple it is to use. It is small enought to carry around and easy to download into your PC. Think of it as the 110 pocket carmera of camcorders (sorry to show my age here).


Totally easy!
The Flip Video Camera is extremely easy to use. I like the USB connection. An hour of video covers most of my needs and the AA batteries last a long time. The 2X zoom is adequate for most occasions. The software fix at Christmas came just in time to fix the download issues that were frustrating. It's a nice basic video camera that's easy to carry around and capture moments that might otherwise be missed. The video quality is okay. Nice device for the price.


Not as good as I hoped
Bought this for my daughter at Christmas. Very easy to operate and loved the size and convience. The item somehow came with faulty software and had to spend 1hour downloading a patch. After that We were able to download pictures to the computer. This is where the item has issues. Every time you take a clip it downloads seperately. It takes hours to stitch all the clips together. The computer couldn't stitch more that 6 clips together at a time. I called the flip people who were to busy and said that they would get back to me but I haven't heard from them. I tried to contact them by e-mail and phone. The picture quality was okay and I was willing to let that go for the convience but I will still be needing a new camcorder as the sluggish computer/download/stitching thing is a drag. My computer is a year old so I don't think that is the problem.


Fun and easy
The flick functions large and is easy to download with your computer and shows on your TV. It bourdonne not very far thus you would not like it to observe your football of play of kid or similar. But for around the house that functions large!


Disappointed
I had thus read many good reviews about this camera but of I longer have it (around 6 weeks now), more than I find problems. For: small, light, very easy to stick in your pocket or bag, just took a transnational voyage, also nice-looking at completely (I obtained orange and white), rather intuitive with the use, the user's manual thin, easy to play behind on against TV: 1. The red button record functions sometimes when I push it and sometimes not (my fingers are average, moreover.) Did this carry out to a certain number of videos which does not finish when they are supposd with, and has usually my voice in the content indicating "why it will not die out?" I also missed some marvellous scenes because it did not turn above to the "disque one" until I tightened it 10-20 times. 2. While playing video behind recorded it on the camera or the TV, I ran in the problem a certain number of times where it indicates something like the "disque illegible one" to the medium of a video and right stops playing it. No quantity of breakdown service could fix this. Then perhaps a week or two later, video was suddenly "readable for it" and would play. This unreliability meant that the narrow parents missed seeing important videos during the visits. 3. My major problem cannot burn DVDs of my videos. One of the principal reasons that I bought this caméscope is because one cense to be to it imper compatible. I had problems to download 29 minutes of video to my computer. Initially, the computer has cold when I transferred all immediately the videos. Later, I tried to do it one and always encountered the problem in terms of him would wedge me on a video and would never stop to transfer it. I manually had to stop the computer each time and to restart it. Then after working hours when I had downloaded the videos with the library of flick on my computer, I found it impossible to obtain all the applications of imper of reading the files in order to burn DVDs. the i-DVD indicated that the files were illegible. With a imper, you must employ the i-DVD to burn DVDs which will be playable in players of DVD. I really do not know what to make about this major problem, since the reason that I bought the camera were to be able to make film at the DVDs house of my girl. I would certainly not recommend to buy this camera and for no matter whom the search for a caméscope at low prices, if you seek sales can obtain to you well-known marks like Panasonic for approximately $200. I would imagine this work better than the ultra flick. Looking at the reviews up to now, I completely see a number in the category one-to hold the first role. Perhaps the quality control for the flick is not ultra as good as it should be still. I am disappointed this camera did not live until my hopes.

It is a large small caméscope for no matter whom. Just exactly which vat of dyeing of Glenn is delirious about it. My daughter will not let to me borrow thus I could have to also buy one were going to take with our 8mm the length, to exploit it the TV and to record it on the flick burn the dvd then. I purchased this camera because of a review in the Wall Street Journal. It is simple to operate and takes decent video. The main issue I have had is it is fragile. It is made of plastic and you have to be careful when connecting it to your computer. Battery life is not long so you need to use rechargables. I would not purchase it again.


I think I got a defective item
I reviewed this item for a couple of weeks before deciding to purchase it. I read many good reviews on this item. I bought it for a christmas gift for my nephew and he was very excited to get it, he used it for probably one hour and it just quit working. I sent the item back wanting to replace it and was told I could not get another one and was refunded my money. Because my nephew really liked it I bought it from another retailer and will see how that one will work.


Heartbroken Christmas Gift - big promises but poor delivery
We were so eager to receive this camera in the mail so that we could wrap it like Christmas present for somebody in our family. The product, as presented on the Web site of FLICK, seemed so perfect, the sooooo of the simple delivery, the sooooo of results clean and easy to create! It seemed impossiblement easy to do all. Even the videos of "échantillon" of Web site were to die for, but however seemed so spontaneous! Well, Christmas came and was matched -- with a variety of exits which made us to throw our hand-towards the top in the air and to require, sometimes, if any product could deliver more badly than this camera. There are many problems with the camera of flick. Pure DIGITAL provided only exits, not solutions. No badiner -- this product was launched with an IMMEDIATE NEED for a software "part brought back" to fix the outlets with the camera. We lost several videos, hours exhausted trying to make the software "improved" starting from work of site of FLICK (which it still does not carry out). With regard to I, the lotisseurs of this product launched it too quickly, trying to profit on the sales from Christmas, but without response for the HOST CENTRE of the exits of compatibility between this product and a PC. How irresponsible! ! I am personally able on a PC, and did not can obtain this thing to function correctly by using their materials. Sure, thereafter SOME of the devices of camera function -- but we lost several videos our Christmas of family, cannot create or save films by using their "integrated" software (which you must always test and in way or other to install on your computer -- misleading!), and basically could obtain a better functionality of one of the disposable visual cameras which are on the market now! The line of support will call you behind and/or answer the telephone, but they do not have any response for problems of compatibility with their software and a PC. A silver plated lining which we discovered -- it is possible to work with a part of the material which you record by using the film manufacturer of Windows. But it is a package more complex than than the manufacturer claims to have developed in their camera. Do not waste your money. Do not take any videos value with this camera -- you could lose them. Awesome
This is a great camera. I got mine yesterday (the black and 30 minutes model). First of all it looks really nice. It also weights very little compared to most camcorders. It's also good that it uses flash memory because it is very reliable and sturdy. It's very simple to use and it has stunning video quality for such a small camera. The video looks better on a tv or computer screen than my $350 Sony HC-48. It is also mac compatible and downloads easily into imove or final cut express. It is also very easy to download videos onto a pc with the flip.

Great camera for the money
Very easy to use and you can employ it right out of the box because it operates batteries of aa (included). I was concerned that there was no light on the camera, but I found the camera adapts well to a variety of light conditions. In a general way, the quality of image is surprisingly good for a camera of this price. I only gave it that four holds the first role because I would like the option to increase the storage capacity.


wonderful design , easy to use
Received Flip Ultra 60 (white) this afternoon, opened the very well designed box, inserted batteries, connected to PC to download firmware update . How easy it was amazed my fellow workers. I work at a TV production company and must use several pro camcorders ,heavy, cumbersome and not user friendly. We had a blast viewing our Flip videos both on TV and PC and Mac computers. I am very pleased with this little marvel and glad that I did extensive research before ordering. I highly recommend installing the firmware before using the Flip. Five well deserved stars !


decent for what I use it for
This camera is good for what I use it for - simple videos to post on my blog and you tube. The software is easy to use (works great on my Mac w/ the latest OS). The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't pick up sound very well. That's a bummer. The speaker is on the back of the camera, but should probably be on the front. Other than that I like it. It's small and easy to operate.


Fun to use
This is a lot better to capture those fun moments than hauling out the old video camera. My husband never likes taking video, but he actually had some fun with this one, so maybe we'l end up with more footage of our kids!


Not ready for prime time
First impression was that it was very cute and super-easy to operate. I shot several short videos and enjoyed replaying them on the very sharp screen. The playback volume was severely limited. I don't see why if my cellphone can have such a loud speakerphone, the Flip, bigger and heavier than my cellphone, should have such a weak volume.
The problem began when I tried to connect to my computer. This is supposed to be smooth and siumple, but my Flip just hang when trying to install its software. I got in touch with Customer Support and they sent me back a lengthy procedure for deleting and reinstalling a newer version of their software. I haven't gotten around to following these instructions, but I resent having to go through these hoops so early in the game with a product that trumpeted its simplicity as its best quality.


Quick & easy but disappointing
Well I does not think that no matter who should "reverse" above this visual camera. Yes, of flick the powerings ultra quickly, has an easy installation and a use of software and is convenient in size/functionality... but here. This camera will disappoint soon of anybody savvy moderate even the majority of camera or computer. Initially with far, the 640x480 resolution that I think is the worst thing about this camera. This report/ratio of Pixel translates harshly in the face of inch 4x3 on your monitor of computer for the good resolution, go a smaller size on your screen and is the image really good but with the way in which small of an image make you want to really look at your video? Go larger than this size and the image degrades immediately with a very weak image, C-with-D.: you will never look at a video of quality of the flick even to a size of a standard monitor (for example 17 inches or larger). As for the TV out of viewing (via the video made up), it is also ok, reasonable as well as possible but the image will blacken the box of letter on the left (


Surprisingly pleased ...
The software program doesn't work right, and there was an annoying fix for the problem that updated the "firmware", which didn't fix the problem, but you don't need the software to take or store the files so I haven't bothered to wait for the help desk to correct the problem. The videos are good and clear for a small kid-friendly device. Wait for the price to drop some more if you aren't in a hurry. More toy than real camcorder, but that is what I wanted so I am happy with it


Gifts for the electronically declined
I bought the caméscope for my mother. She completely literally cannot place the video tape recorder; nor it can programs or uses the majority of the electronic devices without assistance. It likes it. The caméscope adapts well in its pocket of lattice thus it takes it everywhere. All function with Juste a simple movement. My mom will never miss a moment of the first of her grand-daughter.


This recorder is suprisingly AWESOME!
I put this article on my list of wish like total luxury article, thinking I would never receive it. I also wondered whether the thing would never function the manner one espérerait. How did it dare for the price? Well, I obtained it and it them work perfectly and I like! ! ! I was on the market to improve my Sony Handycam for an expensive numerical recorder this year, but forgets it now. I do not require for him if I have the flick. I am not a geek of computer by any right end of imagination thus I am me will not enter all Spéc. techniques on this recorder, except saying that to the person configuration, visual quality is very good. I think that others did a fine work reviewing Spéc. techniques! I am right a mom - looking at to record moments of family - although I know my manner around a computer. At all events, because another critic reported, that took to me less than 2 minutes to obtain this thing in service out of the box one Christmas Day where I opened it. I charged the batteries (no filling!), turned above, pushed to him the button towards the disc and the pole... there I was. I recorded several fasten and then held my breath when it was time to download. Well, with my surprise, it was a rupture too. My computer identified the device immediately (I run OS of Vista), it transferred the files and opened with the nails of the inch! I clicked the nail of the inch and staples played... just like that. I could not believe it! Could not have been easier! ! The device itself has several large devices too. When you initialize it to the top, it indicates to you how much hour record you have remaining. It has an automatic interruption after a couple of the minutes but initializes very quickly - so much no missed moment! You can also turn over and review and remove a Juste of video of the recorder (without computer). Each time you stop and start the recorder it creates new fastens, which is also really interesting! It is small and light weight - the adjustments in a larger pocket or can hang to you the cover (which comes with it) of your belt. My unit is pink/white, that I like! : -) It does not seem acaparer either batteries. I have a whole of batteries of aa in him maintaining (the kind meant for electronics - life so much slightly longer) and I recorded more than 30 minutes of video and made several playback without the problem. Although, I thus do not see really an indicator of the life of battery I do not know which kind of system of warning there is or how much life I left in them Également stripped I tried to however take it with a kiosk with the copy on CD... but I read other reviews which indicate that it is a rupture too. The primary reason that I wanted numerical a recorder was to divide videos with the family out of the city. Thus, I tried to send staples visual by the email but the file was too large manner and they all returned like nondeliverable. However, I do not think it is an outlet with the recorder... which I am sure that it is the user and/or the volume of file! There is perhaps a manner of compressing it but I did not dirty with testing that. Instead of that, I just downloaded the file with a photograph sharing the site (I employed the photobucket) and divided it this way. Still, worked perfectly! I think that the device is even supposed to easily divide with some sites/providers but I like the photobucket. The lower result is than if you think of testing this device... do it! You will like it!

This little gadget fits perfectly in the front pocket of my Levi's. It is ready for anything. I like that it records for thirty minutes. I make short films, catching that moment that you wished you would remember later but seem to forget. It's perfect for documenting any moment in your life really. I love this little gadget!


My Wife Loves It!
I bought this for my wife for Christmas, and she started using it immediately, and I mean immediately. Very easy to use, very crisp video, and surprisingly excellent sound. My wife now thinks she's a star, and so am I for buying it for her!


Great customer service at Flip
I bought an ultra flick for my daughter. As always, the Amazon was more than the message of request. However, because reasons which we include/understand, neither our imper nor our portable computer of PC with Windows.xp would identify it video. My service with the customers called by D of flick and after the acquisition of the information of her, promised to embark it nine. I was skeptic, but during two days later, a new camera arrived, as well as a label of return paid by anticipation for the return of UPS of the original camera. This camera functions. It is too bad there was a problem, but I cannot say asse' about the service to the customers of flick to make things right.

J - U - N - K In a little package
Waisted a lot of my time with this thing. The files get really big on the device, 20 minute videos may be 400mb in size. The problem was that we couldn't get them off of the camera. I used 4 different PC's, two with XP and two with Vista and still had the same problems. I had to go back out and re-shoot all the videos we took because of this problem. Small files would come off but not the big ones. Perhaps if it was on a removeable disk we could have gotten them off. We set for hours and hours working with this thing. Enjoy your trip back...


Handy little cam
I bought a couple of these as a gifts for family members so I've had the chance to play with it some. It's great in that it's very simple to use. Although I'm no expert at image quality, playback looks good. Sound is decent. If you're looking for a really simple video recording device, this is about as simple as it gets. The video quality is definitely better than the video recording capabilities on my digital camera, but the zoom is pretty limited, so your viewing area is limited as well. Overall I gave it five-stars because it does well at serving it's purpose: being easily available for short, spur-of-the-moment, decent quality video recordings. I would def recommend getting the USB extension cable.


Love this camcorder but...
Bought this as a present for 13yr old. So easy to use doesn't even come with manual!! great pictures easy to use - very disappointed in the sound quality. But if that doesn't bother you, you can't go wrong for the price Great little (fits in your pocket) camcorder - you will never miss those once in a lifetime moments again. don't by case - hard to get on and off which means it will never be used. if you want a case - buy a generic one.

Christmas gift
Up to now this visual camera provided us a manner fast and easy to capture all these occasions to record our grandaughter going back to 20 months which so much often slipped near. This must be the visual cam easiest that I ever used. It is simple to draw and simple to download. Nothing additional is necessary. It is even simple to connect with the TV and the watch. I obtained the camera 30-Minute which proves to provide the abundance of the hour for the use of day in day, more especially as you can immediately look at what you draw and remove the things you do not want to keep. I wish now that I obtained the camera 60-Minute, although, which would be more useful for places of meetings of holidays or family.... when you will employ more and have less occasion to download. Great new camera for research
It is the largest small camera to add with my numerical camera to seek and documentation of the events of family. Use of Flip video Camcorder
I found the caméscope of flick to be a good article but in this nonlarge moment. I cannot obtain it identified by my office computer of Dell. That functioned well with my portable computer of Dell. The technical support was very support and sensitive but stripped however solved the problem. The unit was turned over and I was promised that the problem would be corrected and the caméscope returned to me. The other exit is that I could not download with my computer and send like attachment to a regular email.

I purchased this for my twelve-year old son as a xmas present. He loves it. He and his friends, siblings have a great time filming. They have been working on a "series" starring the family dog-really gets them thinking creatively - they're writing, editing filming, etc all under the guise of having fun. Only one thing I wish was different-rechargeable batteries. My little Spielberg is filming a lot so we are going through AA's quicker than I'd like. This is so easy to use and download onto computer. My daughter has requested her own for her birthday.


Best in Price
I like this small caméscope. Really easy to employ, light and enough small to carry your purse or pocket inside. The only aspiration behind that I found with this caméscope is that it is only good for the close projectiles. It is not the camera to draw the play from the school of your kid. Large for Christmas and of the birthdays.


I wished it would have worked....
I bought this product with high hopes. We will adopt a baby and thought be large for him to take in Kazakhstan with us to make videos of recreation of the baby on our blog. When I obtained it the first time, I filmed my son and put we it on you tubes. It was easy. However, after that, it ceased functioning. It would ignite, but not let draw us it video. I changed batteries, no chance. I obtained an email saying that it required an update of software package, but it would not even put up to date. I do not know if it were a problem with Vista, or not. I took it that back-I' m sad that did not function for us.

I bought the flick like present of Christmas for me. I have of old parents and hopes to include their history in the project of history. It enables me to collect the little at the same time impromptu, is easy to employ the flick, and I can take it anywhere. I was little a highly-strung person about making this purchase after reading (little) of the negative reviews (most of the time concerning exits of software). But, stripped of I had all the problems of the whole (I have Windows.xp). I do not employ the software which came with the video from flick, however (I employ the softare of ACDSee to look at videos). It is very easy to use this small caméscope and it comes with 2 "from the batteries from aa". I have refillable batteries, which will come in handy. Visual quality is very good and it is very convenient because you do not need DVDs! I like this thing!


how long it takes to share the video? help!
I am not sure if most of you are using the flip program to share the video.
It seems take so long to making small size video using the Flip Video Program's Share by Email feature...I always try even 30 sec video, but it takes too long that I can't wait to finish it. at least waiting for more than 15 min and still about 30% complete. (that's for 30 sec video)
do you all using the program to share the video? If anyone knows more quicker way to email videos, please put in on here! much appreciate it


Great Product for the Price
Out of the box it needed an update of their Web site which was foreward rather right. I bought four of the 60 caméscopes of series of video of flick of ultra minute for Christmas presents. EACH ONE likes them. The software of flick makes it easy to divide your videos. Their people of support made improvements excelling recently. Their software enables you to click on my computer, and explores it with the shirt of USB to trail


Fun and easy to use
My daughter loves her Flip. She is normally shy, yet this camera is so fun to use, she has no problem expressing herself through the lens of the Flip. It is a lot of camera for the money.


Verdict is still out on this camcorder...
I was very excited about this camcorder from the reviews and the look of the camcorder itself. I have the orange/white one and think it looks so cool and cute. I only just received this at Christmas, so I haven't explored it that much yet, but so far, I have noticed the following:

-The video looks good when you play the tiny thumbnail version through the flip software itself. However, when you save it to my documents and it plays larger in windows media player, the picture loses a lot of quality. It appears grainy and fuzzy.
-When I videotape and use the zoom, the zoomed in sections of my video look fuzzy. The non-zoomed in parts do not look as fuzzy.
-Something is very strange about the software for Flip. When I open it and save my videos, or edit etc., and finish, it won't allow me to close the screen. I try to "x" out, and it won't let me, and I can't find any button that says "exit." So I am stuck there until I "control/alt/delete" out of it which is annoying and should be unnecessary.
-At the moment, the quality is not as good as the video section of my digital camera that is 4 years old! So I am disappointed in that. But I'm hoping that I'm just missing something and will figure out how to get better quality.
-I have not transferred anything to dvd or tv yet, so I'm hoping that it'll look better there.
-The zoom is not much at all. It says it only has a 2x zoom, and just be aware of how small that really is. A lot of other camcorders might have a 32x zoom or so. So this doesn't do very much (and like I said, looks blurry when you use it anyway).
-It is very convenient to have a tiny camcorder that you can bring with you anywhere you go.
-The sound quality seems normal.

So overall, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. I'm really hoping I'll figure out how to make it worth it. I plan to try to find an email for customer service so I can resolve some of these issues.


Love My Flip!!
I bought the Flip for three people as gifts and everyone has called to thank me several times. I also own the Flip and can't remember what it is like not to have one in my daily life. With a two year daughter, I can now catch every moment by having this tiny and user-friendly video camera with me at all times. I already owned a very expensive Panasonic DVD video camera and my Flip puts it to shame.

I hightly recommend it and Amazon has the lowest prices around for the Flip. It is flipping great!


You'll FLIP for flip
I bought two of the latter for my ages 12 and 17 children. They like to draw you from the videos of tube. While a photographer myself I was very interested to discover how it video really left. With my surprise it is a small fabulous machine. Very simple to employ and comes with the very simple software of edition. I am satisfied with quality with the video. You occupy you, must be to you in a pale zone, outside in work of day well. The only disadvantage is that there is not enough buzz, thus you must be close to the subject. I will probably buy a third for me.

Better than a camcorder...

We ordered it, and I drew it video within a 5 minutes deadline to seize the box. Defect of the sound reproduction! Since then, we had drawn it video. Nothing complexes, but video which is anywhere 5 seconds to 5 minutes length. We had downloaded it with our blog... and we are not technology savy! Our blog went from a blog of image to a blog of video-only during the night. It is astonishing. The video is surprisingly clear on your PC and not too poor on your TV one or the other (we have of the 27"). Not Perfect but Pretty Good
I bought this camera for my 12 years old son. He before never made seem a visual camera and this one easy to employ our family. He is. The quality of the noise and the images was good and it was much recreation to be able to connect the camera with television and to look at the videos on the large screen. Our problems came when we tried to download the videos with our computer. Initially, the software would not charge correctly. I read read to me file and found a manner around that. There is no documentation which really came with the camera itself. Afterwards, we noted that if we try to charge a video which is much larger than 2.5 minutes length, we receive an error message and we must stop the program, take the batteries out of the camera, and start more. We must stop the videos all the few large minutes or break the videos in short segments to be able to charge them. The batteries came with the camera but they do not last very a long time. However, the regular batteries of replacement do not last very long thus test the lithium batteries or have a support with you. In a general way, I think that it is basically a visual camera of good starter for my son. He is already released to him twice and that always functions (an upholstered case will be our next purchase like the tripod).


Nifty camcorder nifty price

Dandy little camera
I purchased this camera for a ski trip. The camera performed fine at very cold temperatures, had it in my ski coat outside pocket. So, below freezing, I was still able to pull out the camera, point and shoot at a moment's notice. Regular alkaline batteries last a lot longer than I anticipated. It takes great pictures at regular zoom, the digital zoom in gets a bit out of focus. I found it very easy to use, easy to get the movies out, and easy on the wallet. The old addage is: you get what you pay for. 1-hour of movies is very sufficient for most of my uses.


(Surprisingly) Fantastic Value and Quality
I bought the flick as early present of Christmas for my wife. My goal was to obtain something it could take to videos to make kids with and them be as easy to treat us as capture/storage/burning DVDs as it is with our numerical motionless camera. We have a Mini-FD caméscope and we never took time to obtain it video in addition to caméscope, on the portable computer and a DVD. It is right a true pain. Thus, I wanted for a long time a caméscope which would record to flicker memory or HDD but 1) we already had a caméscope and 2) they were expensive. Then I saw the flick, seizure one and we spent December, particularly the holidays, recording with the intention to produce a DVD at the end of the month. The last night I burned a DVD with our recordings by using the software of MyDVD which came with our portable computer. Then I put it in my player of DVD to observe the videos on our plasma of 50". I expected something very grained and small. I was shocked when I was greeted with the video of good quality even on my plasma of 50". The resolution of the camera is 640x480 which them quantities with 4:3 480p thus is as to observe an exposure of the standard deviation TV to him unless in my eye it seemed a little better than the cable of standard deviation but not as good as a film DVD of standard deviation. I was shocked to say the truth given what paid us for him and what I had knowledge of the quality of image. The flick more than was exceeded my hopes: _ it have do exactly it that I have want and it it have make easy. I can take videos of our family, downloads them with our PC by the USB and then burns them with DVD to observe on the TV. I like the video camera with 2 exceptions.
1. Sound doesn't really pick up the words that people are saying unless they are talking very loudly.
2. The program that is used to make the movies freezes 9 times out of 10.

Saved about $50. buying on line. Granddaughter loved for Christmas. She is 10 years old and used all weekend!


The Flip Video
I received the visual caméscope of flick and found it easy to employ directly out of the box. My only felt sorry for is that it is difficult to tighten the red button on the back when you are ready to cease the recording. I recorded my grandmother old of 97 years exposing poetry in front of the Christmas tree. The recording was beautiful, however, when it finished, he took five blows on the button before he finally stopped the recording. This frustrated and required publishing which would not have been necessary if the button had functioned the first time I tightened it. When I connected the flick to my computer it started to download the program to be stopped only to 34% with an error. I stopped, restarted and still tested. It stopped to 34%. I went above to the line site of assistance and discovered that I had to download an update. This took during some time, but it finally made it possible the system to function. I feel that the program could be easier to use, but I was balt to be reproduced more him on my clean. I like the flick and would strongly recommend it!


Great little product!
It is very easy to employ the flick. The hardest part appeared out way of putting in the batteries. Two minor complaints: The quality of image is not terrible in low lighting, but is acceptable. In the second place, the red button record can be hard to tighten if you have large fingers. Otherwise, I like this thing!
