I was a user of the PPC-6700 during much of years and liked the telephone, but liked it with its insufficiencies. The worst part about it was that it was difficult to hear in the strong situation because the volume of ear-phone was low. I was on the market for a new telephone and was turned towards nabob PPC-6800. It was thinner than the older model, weighed less, and seemed to have all the same devices as the PPC-6700. A big improvement over the 6700, but far from perfect

this is an amazing phone.
firstly, the looks rugged and at the same time professional, but feels seemingly Slippy to the touch. Therefore you might want to get a case, or if may one day slip off your hand. It is also amazingly smaller than what one could imagine; we figure about the length of a credit card and about an inch longer. the design also features buttons about everywhere (but the front side). Good shortcuts to get where you want to fast, with no need of using the touchscreen (unlike other PDA phones). The five-directional thumb pad looks unpromising, but, thruthfully, it is wonderful in performance. One's thumb just fits on it, and one needs just pressure in the desired direction with no need to move the thumb to press it.
The full qwerty keypad is a little small (what did you expect from a small phone?) and the feedback is GOOD. I wonder what degree of feedback other critics need.
Entering info in this device can't be any easier. apart from the qwerty keypad and onscreen keyboard, HTC software allows you to write on the screen and it's converted to text, as you'll do on a tablet PC. handwriting recognition is good too. Navigation on this device can't be any easier. Curiously I found out that the most used commands on this phone have 4 different ways to lunch, and some have 3, to 1. So you can't get stuck. A perfect tool: I mean-this PDA allows you to even turnoff its phone capability in 2 Clicks. So you will use it as a PDA only.
the camera is Great. I mean, who will criticize a 2.0 megapixel camera with flash and camcorder on a PDA? It the camera program looks sexy and awsome. It's like you have an actual $250 camera with a BIG touch screen.
connection is great and it even has a "spot" at the back for in car connection, in case reception is low. Internet connection is also superb, and it connects with relative ease to wi-fi networks around - in preference to sprint network where available. wi -fi seems to be way faster than sprint's 3-G network.
A few setbacks: sound in a call is perfect, but on a music or video, it seems jazzy (for critical listeners. If not, no problem) esp. with the earphones. It does not have a great deal of cooool alerts and ringtones. But this is like no problem since getting free (some) from installed windows mobile is relatively easy.
Overall, this phone is, not just great, good, practical, but AMAZING. It will amaze you each time you use it; simple but yet highly punctuated with functionalities and capabilities. Whether you just want to call, or you want to manage business, it is perfectly suitable.


A beautiful disappointment
I made approximately 2 months of research before buying this telephone thus to save the criticism which I am not informed about the telephone. I am a techie. I like to include/understand, twist, and maximize each telephone I to have. This telephone is large if you want a computer in your pocket. It can make very that your portable computer can make. It is a powerful smartphone, no doubt on this subject. Here my list of for and of against. PRO: It is not THAT large. Some indicate that they are too large. It is computer of a freakin ' in your pocket, naturally it is larger than the majority of the telephones. It has a full keyboard with the nice keys classified that no matter who could type above, even with large fingers. SWINDLER: He is not that easy. The major problem with this telephone is the operating software. It is necessary for manner too many measurements of making simple things with this telephone. If you want some to be able to make and all then you can, it time right of catches to be carried out. The palm is wedged in the dark ages with their operating software but I always employ it b/c at least that it is a stable OS and at least it is simple. Mobile 5.0 of Windows is lame. this phone is not as bad as people make it seem. the bluetooth does have problems, but has been improved upon since the latest htc update 2.17. the update has improved overall performace and processing speed. i love this phone, contratory to all the others


Awkward to use. Frustrating.
. I waited months so that this product is available. I even obtained it at a great price by a discount of corporation -- $299. There is little that I like about the telephone. In fact, I cannot think of a thing which I like on the subject of the telephone except perhaps the challenge of a puzzle it is difficult to only decode. Telephone: The block of keys sucks. It is a device of contact but with all the enormous size of screen the block of keys of telephone is small. Moreover, you must initially light posting, it will not go up while supporting on the button of maintenance. After, the conclusion of the telephone numbers is slow and awkward. The screen is closed with far to fast. Or if you place the hour to remain longer above, the telephone loses the power too quickly. After the block of keys disappears when the call starts, so that you must touch a very small button of "bloc of keys" to bring the support to him or to use a needle. I found using the needle so much that I wondered the need for keyboard. Work of telephone of loudspeaker spouts out enough. I employ it much. I do not have an ear-phone of Bluetooth for this telephone but considers it an essential accessory. Switch; I like to employ the entry of needle of device of palm. I suspect that that functions very well with the prospects 2007, but I hate them absolutely manner that MRS. kissed to the top of what was a decent package. Basically, this only convinced me to return the device and to buy a palm PDA. I like the palm charges the list -- it is included/understood while MRS. charge the list has the limitations which make it difficult to make a numbered list. Access of Internet: I found my attempts to make ravel, very frustrating. While the page charged and I tried to make ravel downwards, it would still jump jusqu to the top. Basically I feel the slowness of the loading coupled perhaps with the error of operator on my made part him an experiment of frustration that I do not want to repeat. Knowing Verizon always kisses to the top of a good thing, I must wonder how much better this telephone would operate a faster cheaper network of Sprints. Best sprint PDA phone if you are above average tech-wise
I have several friends who have tried out the Mogul and didn't care for it, mainly due to the fact they either like 1-handed dialing or are used to the Blackberry. Still, you can get robust email, text messaging, web surfing and a host of other add-ons if you are comfortable doing research and some trial-and-error. There are annoyances/idiosyncracies but they are easily overcome. Launching calls/apps due to the extra buttons? One tap to lock the phone (it's become a habit in just 2 days). Can't dial easily? Took just a few minutes to set up voice-dialing and I can actually dial okay using 1 hand on the touch screen.

The iPhone and Blackberry have very real advantages over the Mogul but you get to pay about $50 more a month and hope someday they are opened up for add-ons. I love the Mogul because it is somewhat of a blank slate and I can tweak it heck and back to make it do what I want. Between ppcgeeks and sprintusers dot com, there's enough savvy users to get the help you need.

Pros:
Small but solid, nice screen, WM 6, nice keyboard, portrait/landscape views, fun to surf on. Can add 2 GB memory and probably 4 GB before too long (if not more). Can add tons of programs and customize almost any part of the interface you want.
Basic camera is so-so but it has a flash (very neat) and I find that the sports mode takes good pictures and the video is above average.
Addictive -- I'm constantly playing with it and finding new things to do. It's a pleasure to use.

Cons:
Limited memory -- you need to get good at turning off programs as it will keep IE, IM running after you close the screen. No idea why. More likely a WM-6 'feature' than Mogul-specific.
Limited battery -- not horrible but not a strength. I keep a $15 car/wall combo charger with me and will probably end up keeping an extra charged battery as well.
EVDO and GPS functionality pending -- supposedly coming Jan. 28.
You need to learn the ins-and-outs of WM-6. What should take 2 screens, takes 5 and and the most useful settings are buried but it's from Microsoft so what do you expect? It's still better than Vista ;)

As far as call quality, it's been better than my M610 or my wife's LG Fusic but we are in an area with a strong sprint signal -- if you are having call quality issues, it could be the connection and not the phone.

Do you want an easy to use PDA out of the box? Get a blackberry or iPhone. Do you want a phone that within 6 months will be able to do about anything? Try out the Mogul.


I love mine!
I love mine, its easy to use and loaded with features. I use it primarily for business but also use it to listen to music, watch videos and pictures.

As far as the complaints about the touchscreen dialing, I have no problems with it. I have only one complaint. The wifi button is easily accidentally switched on. This is bad because the wifi really uses battery. Otherwise I have no problems.


Battery Life is Dismal - At Best
This telephone functions well for me as a working mom part-time -- allows me to continue on email of work while I am with the kids. However, the life of battery is EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. With the moderate use of email and telephone, this telephone will miss batteries towards the end of the day even if it charged the front whole night. Sometimes I worry that I will be wedged some share and the thing will be out of the batteries when I must make an emergency call. I obtained only the telephone that the some life weeks ago... battery is only going down from here. I certainly will have to buy an additional battery.


It Gets the Job Done
The HTC Mogul PPC6800 is the newest Windows Mobile Phone by HTC offered through Sprint. Features include a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, EVDO Rev. A, Wifi, and a 2.0 Megapixel Camera. Through plans it usually sells for $300. Overall I am very pleased with my Mogul. It's keyboard is one of the best I've used on a phone and the reception is pretty good. One thing I'm not a fan of is battery life - I make sure to charge it every night when I am asleep, otherwise the battery won't last long. It is slightly thick, it would be really nice if it was somewhat thinner. The camera is a 2.0 Megapixel camera, although it does not have an autofocus, which is a big deal to me. Overall the Mogul is currently the best Windows Mobile Phone available. If they could do the following in the next revision it would be perfect: autofocus camera, more RAM, thinner, more battery life, GPS enabled.


Looks so good on paper...
... but the life with this telephone is a nightmare. It is a large tool to examine the email, maintaining an address book and a calendar, even to ensure to connect itself to your PC by the intermediary of USB the use as modem when you are on the road (requires the option of additional service of the Sprint). But if you want to be able to employ it like telephone, forget him. Save your $$$. Neither the GPS nor the Bluetooth work on this phone. It is advertised as such, but does NOT work. Sprint won't even let me exchange this for a phone with working blutooth. They released an update 2 weeks ago, but have since removed it and suggest to people they remove that update. It cause more problems than it fixed. I've been round-and-round with sprint, and this is my last straw. If you don't need bluetooth or GPS, then this phone will be good for you. I suggest some other phone.


Beware of the Sprint Mogul
This telephone resounds perfect of Spéc. which was promised by Sprint. It of the possibilities has really GPS and EVDO revision A but the Sprint does not allow it by the ROMANIAN. The ROMANIANS are levellings with the telephones which fix problems and provide levellings. HTC recently provided an update of ROMANIAN which closes to the top the telephone when connection commutates EVDO with the 1X. The telephone does not sound and you cannot really hear during the call. Sure it is large for the surfant sequence but not like telephone. If all is well HTC their bad ROMANIAN will fix but I do not box on top. My First Smart Phone
It is my first intelligent telephone and I am so happy I have it. I if was tired to carry three devices and this clarifies really my load plus it has mobile 6 of Windows which is a great surplus Windows earlier CE/PPC of improvement. HTC Mogul 6800 Review
In a general way, I am happy witht the execution of this product. It is my third PPC, I have Thera Audiovox, and a iPaq 1910, and it is definetly better than other outside there. Envelope full, small size, however thick side. The screen is smaller than others, making it difficult if you before never employed other PPCs. Navigation is a little more complex than other PPCs and the Internet reviewing is large, having the screen adapted in a colum, or to show the size so necessary. The Internet reviewing can be basin the plan of data available, or by Wi-Fi, with speeds of connection and remote loading as quickly as connection are lit to you. The keyboard could be slightly larger, really cannot type you as well if your nails are even a little large. The device of Nice is however the back-light of keyboard, really useful. The camera is not higher quality, is however is 2MP, quality is the poor even on the highest arrangement. The flash of camera is however very luminous, large for a lamp-torch! Addition of Nice on the card slot of MicroSD. I will maintain it short - I bought this telephone because it runs mobile 6.0 of Windows and I am a lotissor of software of NET (Microsoft) by the trade. Stinks of the life of battery (and me tested each conceivable dry blow.) I just ordered a prolonged battery to see whether it of the assistances. It is impossible to compose the a-given telephone (in conduisante, etc...) The block of keys of dial (screen with contact) is too small and slow to answer (thus wind of I composing to the top too many figures.) In a general way, I am unimpressed with this telephone enough. I consider to move again with my blackberry


Great Overall Smartphone
This is my second smart phone and I love it. My first was the Palm Treo 700wx which well served it's purpose, but I wanted more. The Mogul is of a comparable size to the Palm and if I were to consider a difference, the Mogul is actually slightly smaller. I love the fact that the screen is quite large and has the auto adjusting feature for "two-way style texting" or Sprint Network browsing/email. The design feels solid as far as the general case and buttons. I hold the phone in my left hand and am able to maneuver the scroll wheel and many of the buttons easily (tough to reach the center navigation piece for scrolling left, right and selecting a highlighted functions single-handedly).

The camera function leaves something to be desired though I've not run it fully through its paces. The few shots I took with it all lacked definite clarity when viewed on the display screen and the edges of objects and people had what looked to possess a motion haze even though they were static. The reason seems mostly related to bright light as there is a tendency toward much more defined shots in low light. The microSD card is a nice addition especially with the larger memory cards out now in micro format (just don't forcibly inhale or sneeze while handling it).

The keypad function is not as easy to operate as actual buttons. It requires patience and some amount of focus to accurately hit each number but it's not as though it's unusable...simply pull the car over if you need to make a cell call. What I do like about the keypad function is the number of options available prior to and during a call as well as the display of my last call automatically. The only additional option I would like to see is a button to turn on the Bluetooth radio during a call. Reason being, I prefer to turn off the Bluetooth radio while it's not in use because of the battery drain but if you get a call, it's tough to turn on Bluetooth while in-call.

Navigating the software is intuitive but opening and switching is slow to very slow depending on the specific application. The other thing I would have liked to see is the "real" internet on this device. I like the capabilities with Windows Live (viewing email, MSN messaging, etc.) and POP3 email connection seems to work with Gmail but I've yet to be updated on email from Yahoo.com. The Wi-Fi does make a positive difference in loading speeds and the Bluetooth radio is more compatible with my Motorola HS850 headset compared to the old Treo 700wx (clear voice and good volume both in and out-going).

All in all I'm happy with the upgrade and I think most other discerning users will be happy with the Mogul too.


A very average phone.
I hated this telephone on thus many various levels which it is almost impossible to tell them all. First of all, the police force on the saver of screen is impossiblement small and difficult to read. The wheel of menu is not below your inch where would await it to you but not from the ergonomic point of view placed in a very uncomfortable position by your fingers when you hold the telephone in your right hand. Mobile 6 of Microsoft seems much more cumbersome than it had ever created additional stages instead of simplifying navigation. Audio quality is OK, right OK. Nothing large. It is much easier to use the slide out of the keyboard ONCE THAN DEPLOY IT to YOU, but it requires the fight with the unit using two hands. And the telephone is LARGE - very large. There is no block of keys to enter your telephone numbers, the telephone being based entirely on the touchpad to enter of the telephone numbers. Only one problem: the touchpad does not function that well. The entry of the telephone numbers is one of demanding slow very deliberated process which you look at to confirm that the numbers were recorded correctly. And I mention: the telephone is LARGE - very large! I could have handled large the telephone in an elegant way conceived and had been carried out. But elegant it is not. The insufficiencies of the telephone would be glaringly obvious imports only competition, but when you look at how in an elegant way and intuitively the iPhone applied them smartphone that you must wonder why in the pier with open-type screen these people could not have developed a better telephone. I know that there are people who like this telephone. But made confiancemoi, they like it in spite of its insufficiencies. If you seek an elegant solution of smartphone who feel intuitive marks and inspires one oh-ha! the answer each time you select it to the top of this is not your telephone. If you seek a utility telephone of plough horse and be not worried in particular by the way in which it is then carried out PEUT-ÊTRE this telephone will function for you. For me it was a painful pain with the back and I returned it. Pay attention very before you make with this telephone.
