This product did not work on well for me. I live in the Memphis, TN range and could not find not a station, which would produce a free clay/tone. I sent back it and received my rueckerstattung without any expenditures.


Keep your receipt! Does not work
Would be great if Kensington published compatible stock audio systems that are compatible with this device. Apparently it works great for some, but certainly didn't work in any of our vehicles, with new iPods. And yes, we read the manual. Consider a Bluetooth transmitter, which frees up a plug for a GPS ;-)


iphone FM transmitter
Works great and keeps my iphone charged too. But iphone doesn't recognize it as an iphone accessory - just a minor problem.


Great idea, just doesn't really work
The RDS characteristic is a large idea; it is, why I selected this over cartridge an adapter or any other Rf over intermediary. Unfortunately San Diego, is orange county, and of Los Angeles radio markets are thus pushed, there no existing frequency, which works. "did not help automobile searches you" characteristic at all. I returned this and plan, in order to receive cartridge an adapter instead of.


Very disappointed



had to return it
Since I read so many good reports over this product, I explained that it was the money. Sadly to say, it functioned not at least, for me. I live in the Boston range and could receive not even acceptable rececption. I had to return the product. Finally bouth I seize iTrip, that, if not perfect, 100% work on, which is better as the Kensington unit.


Warning - Does Not Work
I would avoid this product if I were you. I tested it in 3 cars with the same result so it is no a problem with the radio. A FM Transmitter should do two things, the second function is to block out the static once you find a good frequency, this product does not do that. You will get static with your muisc as I did.


Worthless
My experience is pretty much that other rezensenten registered. The fast search procedure function finds only stations, which already reads and free music transferred. Even if you can find a station manual that you can hear ipod through (a very rare case), are it so calmly that you must to set in motion and the Static substantially louder form the volume up than the music. It sounds terrible. I do not see it receiving, as everyone could give this 5 stars, am it completely different product. The achievement is so dismal that simple difference of opinion cannot explain it.


Just does not work!
My son gave me this for Xmas to use with my 80GB Classic. I was so much looking forward to having my own music in my car.
The first unit was faulty - the LCD frequency indicator just flashed randomly, but the folks at the Apple Store were wonderful as always, and replaced it even though I had thrown out most of the packaging with all the other Xmas stuff.
The second unit shows the frequency, but the seek utility is wonderful only for finding the strongest stations in town - NOT an unused frequency. I have now tried every single unused frequency on my car radio and every one of them is noisy - the static overwhelms the music. I have tried it on my BMW and my wife's Volvo - at least, in the Volvo, I get somewhat less static, but only when I stretch the cord out to the very limit, holding the iPod out of the open window. This is not, in my humble opinion, an ideal way to be traveling. The volume was still extremely low requiring the volume control to be cranked up to nearly maximum, which of course, cranked up the static as well.
The customer support (in India - of course) was excellent, polite, listened to my concerns, and very speedy - but it is New Year's eve. All they could tell me was to have the unit replaced at the store where it was purchased. Somehow, I don't think that the third one will be any better, especially after reading some of the other reviews here.
I am returning the unit and will try a cassette adapter - at least my car is old enough to have a cassette unit!!!
My next car will definitely have the built-in iPod adapter.



Keep shopping, this isn't the one you want
Examine tuner of FM of your car stereos. If it can waive more than some stations, this is not the FM over intermediary for they I repeated FM over intermediary used and to these because of the RDS characteristic was tightened. The fast search procedure characteristic stopped empty frequencies on STRONG stations, not. When I co-ordinated manually to a free frequency, the clay/tone of Static was stronger than from music. This decreases/goes back!


Didn't work for me
I managed to get some signal some of the time by hanging my iPod from my rear view mirror with the cable from this device. I don't think it's supposed to be set up that way.
It may work in some cars and in some places, but not in a Dodge Caravan in the New York City metropolitan area.


This thing sucks!
The worst thing at all in an educated manner, at all! I believed this a worked on b/c other reports, but wows, which are terrible it! It does not find the best station for you likes it says. Into reality it goes to the stations, which already rather obviously play music. Additionally if you finally a station are, is it like that staticy that you cannot hear your music at all. DO NOT BUY THIS, if you liked to hear your music really in the situation its.


Really???
Sometimes I read other reviews in awe. Someone else please let me know if this isn't working for you. I wanted so bad for this unit to allow me to listen to my precious IPod in my car. The possibility brought tears to my eyes - no more garbage radio and my CDs could finally be relegated to back-up duty. Alas, though I know what I'm doing this thing doesn't work. You can get a station with reception but it isn't easy at all and when you get it the static blares in and out randomly - a cacophonous disaster. There is no way anyone could listen to this in good conscious. My wife refuses to let me keep it. She thinks it is stupid that I want my IPod tunes so much that I would be willing to have static periodically blast into the car reducing my hearing senses. She has a point. Will someone please please reference a similar product that can actually allow an IPod to play in the car??? By the way the auto find that one reviewer here says works is ridiculous. It found actual working stations - this will not and did not work. I had to find the most compatible stations myself. Customer service replied within 48 hours but they want a serial number, etc so I have to get it out of my car. If I give them the exact product I bought then why on earth would they need this? Just answer my questions!!!


Great Value - Works Really Well - Buy It!
Love this over intermediary. This is third, which I possessed and duh!, this finally does which all different one have should, it up-loads iPod, while I use it. This alone marks it better than the others. Of the monster - no vibration, very free admission and a quantity of energy. And it did not fall out of the cigarette lighter, which is a problem, which, I had in the past. Good Design elements, which I considered - more simply to read lighting up numbers against the black background in order you the station, EXTREME snap the Stationsucher to show and even 3 radio station has adjusted keys to form to it even faster. Also a AN/AUS switch thus I do not discharge my car battery, if I attached it with the machine away have. Completely around, a firm unit - I will give a number of these as holiday gifts.


Great way to share my music
I received one of these Kensington Transmitters as a side gift with a new birthday iPod. It works great! My biggest complaint with iPods, with my kids, specifically, has been that when they have their iPods on, they're insulated from the rest of the family, especially in the car, on their own planet, hiding behind their earphones. So, when I got mine, I wanted to be sure I didn't commit the same sin. Having this unit makes it easy to share the music and podcasts that I'm enjoying with the rest of the family.

This transmitter is completely simple to use. I didn't have any problem. I just plugged it into my iPod, plugged it into the dash, and it automatically finds a clear station over which to broadcast my music. And I live in a very crowded radio airspace, but it doesn't seem to have a problem getting to work. The RDS is a nice feature, too, although it only works in my newer car. It's nice not to have to search back on my iPod to find the name of a song or artist when I can't remember it.
