Reviews:

starsCan't ask for anything better, esp. at this price
I've had this for about 4 months now. Used lightly, but regularly (mostly black and white). Love it. I held off on buying a printer for a while, because they are often more trouble than they are worth, but this one went well above expectations.
Everything works as expected (although I have not used the faxing).
- Wireless (secured) is flawless, and a great feature if you move your laptop within the house.
- Copying and scanning work great for my needs (personal).
- My favorite feature: automatic double-sided printing. Hard to find feature, and I have yet to see another company offer it at this price. What a paper saver, now I don't feel as bad when printing. You have to change its settings in XP in order to print both sides by default.
Also, I set the default to "draft" quality printing by default, which saves on ink. I haven't had to replace the cartridges yet, and the quality is fine for personal use.
The only con I've found is that the automatic paper feed hasn't fed in the paper in the couple of times that I've tried.

starsI like it
The things have had to make in order to make this job in my house using WIFI in order to make sure itself to turn the refractory wall of Windows outside before beginning the printer the installation are made sure that to know the word of access of WEP of yours router without threads if is a sure net... I you have forgotten mines and have had to restore all. I have possessed two multifunctional printers all comprised of the HP. Both have had important editions

starsNice, but absolutely consumes ink
Large the small printer, the function without threads is pleasant, but you must install two printers different in order to use the USB and the radio. The quality is two times on the par with blots some to them similar, but on the exhaustions of Lexmark ink fastly. One hard cartridge only some days. I maintain at least 4 cartridges in great additional amount to disposition because they are get exaustedded fastly therefore. They are half of format of that what the HP gives to you, last 1/4 of time and cost the same one. If been observing in order to save the moneies on ink, it observes elsewhere. Moreover, the important retailers do not transport the cartridges for this machine. He makes sure myself that your local supplier transports the 40-41 or 42-43! The greater part not for some reason.

starsLexmark 4-in-1
I am a little disappointed in this unit. The print quality is OK, but not good enough for a professional document. The scanner seems to work fine. The fax part of it was triggered to receive a fax before the number of rings I had set it for. The machine does not power down into the power-saving mode on its own, and even when I put it in that mode, it often self triggers into the full power mode; maybe the WiFi is picking up extraneous signals which triggers the power-up.

I do like the WiFi feature; while sitting in my den I can send something to print (from my laptop), and pick it up from my office at a later time. Overall, the unit provides what I need in a non-business setting, for non-professional tasks. If you need high quality output, look for a higher level machine.

starsLexmark, . . . VERY dissapointing. . . tsk tsk tsk
This printer is NOT ideal for the person who wants a cheap and "economical" solution with all the features mentioned.

I must admit, at the price range, I fell victim and tried this product, since I liked the built in wireless feature. What they do not tell you is that you MUST first hardwire your system to the printer FIRST to "import wireless" settings and then you can use it wirelessly. Well, to me, no biggie, right? Now, I had to tell my router to give it a permanent IP address because the printer kept changing up, and when you have 3 wireless notebooks, its aggravating since your computers dont know what is the current address to print to.

I've only printed a total of 21 pages, and wow! I AM AT 80% black ink left [all pages were incoming faxes]. This the not very impressive page yield, and the box mentions an average of 220 pgs avg yield of black pages. Wow. . . not so!

Not only that, this printer stays in my bedroom next to my desktop, and the printer makes random noises in the middle of the night, freaking me out. This printer had to go. Not to mention, the fax machine has to scan ALL the pages FIRST in the feeder and THEN when done scanning, then it begins transmission!

Did I also mention that the printer will randomly disconnect your phone calls because it wants to "detect a potential fax" even if "auto answer" is NOT enabled?

Also, the printer programs it's ink cartridges to STOP spraying after so many "drops" which means that even when it stops spraying, you may have residual ink that could have been used but the box even says this on the labeling!

This printer was most definitely a huge disappointment. The only GREAT feature was the automatic 2 sided printing feature. That was IT. Other than that, Lexmark. I am sorry. . . I am going back to HP. The REAL friend in my house!

starsOkay, not what the box says
So as to I was excited approximately this printer. We have laptop and a table and are removed in order to be able to use them both with the same printer. The putting to point was EXTREMELY annoying. Finally, my uncle (for technition of the calculating) has had to repair a problem with the software because the printer would not recognize our orifice of the USB. We have wished to have the desktop metallic hard through an orifice of the USB and to have the laptop wirelessly he has connected. Hmmm, NOT! The printer cannot At the same time handle to the USB and the connections without threads! Wirelessly we have connected the table and those systems very well, but the laptop the time works only 1/2. When it works, he is large, but when not, it is well annoying! I have an email within to their technical support (I loved the idea of their characteristic of LiveChat, but after to have spold 3 hours on that one and not obtaining from no part, I have changed idea). Perhaps my just he is disorderd on the computers, but this printer is large when he works. The price range is large also, for a hope that all comprised this helps!

starsLook elsewhere for a printer
Yes, this printer is easy to set up.
No, there is no user guide with the printer - you must go to the CD and print it all (very large) or just do research on the computer to see the info you need.

Wireless mode is not good. If you are using other wireless items around this printer (mice, keyboard, telephone or other) - they interfere with this printer. I use the wired feature for this printer to avoid a lot of the problems. However, if I try to make a call on the telephone line (the one that is connected to this printer for the fax mode) - the printer will disconnect my telephone line as it "searches" incessantly for who knows what. I must unplug the printer if I want to use the telephone.

Print cartridges don't last long at all.
These print cartridges have a chip in them, which means you cannot refill them or have them refilled!
If the cartridges are not lexmark the printer will not work and will "freeze". Lexmark have protected their market share of print cartridge sales by creating a specialized chip in the cartridge to force you to buy lexmark cartridges. Very expensive - very short use.

If you try to use other cartridges the printer will stop working altogether and then Lexmark (as they told me today on the phone) - will not honor any guarantees or repairs.

so you either comply with their system or your printer will auto destruct.

starsscanning problems
I have had lexmark 1120 and other from the 1200 series. I have thought that you dawned since those two have served it well. The fact is a point down and job with all the characteristics that the disappointment promises severly. It is destined in order to only explore a page to the time (I have wished that advetised that one) therefore if I wish to explore 14 various pages must wait for every page for upload before that it can make qualche.cosa with the document. That was not the case with the exploration previous of the couls of the printer of the lexmark more than a document to to the time. The this simpler case is better definatley.

starsNot so Good Pruduct
Before that it buys this so-called one ` all in a machine ' I have made one sure search. On the base of my range of price and the characteristics I have wished - I have limited my choices to this printer and brother MFC-685CW. This printer is a disappointment. The impacchettato software was not easy to use, much slow one and must be a wiz of the calculating in order to couple it yours router-that without threads you must have acquaintance of ` throwing a bridge on ', hocking of the announcement of the ` ', etc etc of i IP address of putting in work of `. With the aid the son teen of mine of the ` wiz of the calculating ' finally in a position to making to work the printer. But it has not lasted long, in printer they give approximately two weeks refused in order to communicate with router or the calculating. The called technical support, that it is a joke I falls in the sleep that attends and that it listens to their music. Firmware they have disorderd in on. God! it had place to 30 days close since the purchase, (30 days of the buy better give back to politics) I it has slid fast to the warehouse and has given back the product. I have said to the kidskin to that it was a disorderd defective product with on firmware and would not have here to be replaced. Any moment the printer is a telephone call will wake up with annoying strongly diffuses. This printer does not come with with of the hand, only has two cartridges of the ink if you are towards the only blue outside - you must replace the entire cartridge of color. This printer has only two line scarabocchiante exposure. A buy is confronted to this brother MFC-685CW of the printer better.

starsWOW
It has obtained hardly my printer. It has occorr approximately 30 minuteren in order to install. As soon as it has loaded the software and they install the printer then has plugged it it. It has tried my net and all that had to make it had to enter in the key of the net. No fuss no muss. Before worked time wirelessly. Press, exploration, fax all wirelessly. I love.
