Logitech 984-000006 Pure-Fi Anywhere Compact Speakers for iPod (Black)
Reviews:

starsGreat value!
I compared the prices for a long time before I ordered these loudspeakers, and I do not have any doubt that they are the best value for the money available. The noise is astonishing for a so small unit, the bearing case vigorous and is well projected, and it seems beautiful.

starsGood portable speakers for your Ipod
I purchased these speakers to use in my office and for when I travel and for that purpose they fill the bill. The speakers and easy to set up and intuitive to use (i.e. they are no 'mystery buttons' on the top of the unit or on the remote) and, if plugged into the wall will charge your Ipod also (if using the speakers with batteries the Ipod will not be charged). They come with a hardbody case which will hold the speakers, remote, power plug and an Ipod nano but not any of the larger Ipods. The case is a little heavy but not out of line if you pack it in your suitcase and the hard shell does protect the contents much better than a soft case.
On the down side the sound from the speakers is a little lacking in the bass range but not so severely than anyone but a true audiofile would object.
I'm not sure that I would take these to the beach or any other unprotected area to listen to my Ipod (One of the company's suggested uses) since there is no protection for the unit from water, sand, etc. My own personal solution for that is a Ziplock (tm) bag that I either run a set of headphones out from or a 3.5 mm patch cord to a set of speakers.

starsThis one is tops!
I previously had purchased a Sonic Impact model and the connector dock quit working shortly after purchasing the product like other reviews of it warned, so I sent it back and ordered this Logitech model and I am totally satisfied with its capabilities and its sound quality and it is a strong sounding portable piece of equipment and I gave it 5 stars because I think it is the best one for the money out there!

starsRemote does not work properly with iPod Touch
These speakers have a lovely sound quality, and they go decently loud too - but they have a documented problem when using the remote control with an iPod Touch - the remote skips menu items, ie pressing the up/down button always moves 2 places in the menu, with the effect that you can only select half your tracks/artists/playlists using the remote.

starslogitech Pure Fi Anywhere compact Speakers
Thrilled with this product. We put all of our ballroom/latin dance music on our ipod and use the logitech dock when we are practicing at home! The remote makes it easy to use and the sound is superb for the price we paid.Easy to transport, great carrying case. Highly recommend this product.

starsexcellent
the noise is excellent for a small small system. I recommed strongly this unit.

starsGood Value, sound is adequate but not great
This is a well built speaker system for iPods and a good value. However, despite what many of the reviews state, the sound from this system is NOT outstanding. It is good quality for the size and portability, but compared to decent headphones on the iPod or decent coumputer speakers, the sound is noticeably shallow (lacking strong base and distinctive separation of various tones).

I bought this for use in hotel rooms since I travel a lot. The speakers give me good sound in a hotel room. But, at home, there is no way I would bother to use this because I could turn up my stereo and get fantastic sound throughout the house.

Do not be fooled by the reviews for the portable speaker systems as none of the systems, except maybe the Bose for a very high price, have great sound. Adequate yes, but not great.

Don't get me wrong, the sound is adequate for the purpose, just not outstanding or great as so many of the reviews state. So, I rated the system as 4 stars because this is a good buy for the right purpose.

starsGood sound at low volume level
I purchased the MM50 and then I found an offer for the pure-fi so, I exchanged the MM50 to the pure-fi. I could not say which of the 2 work better. The pure-fi may have more bass but I liked better the treble of MM50. I also get some distorsion from pure-fi at medium volum levels which makes me doubt if the unit that I have is OK or may be faulty. I use it with equualizer setting to "classic", this may be the reason for distorsion at the bass. The bass is not very good but, I supose that for a unit this small is OK.

starsGreat speakers for the value... and great sound
Is these loudspeakers what they are made to do, music of play of a iPod with a good fidelity and to moderate the noise level (according to him cuts). I employ it in my part of hotel and it seems large, it fills all the part with half of the unit of level of volume. Obviously it will not fill large room even with high volume. I strongly recommend... am the very nice speakers at an accessible price.

starsGood sound quality, nice features, happy with purchase
I bought these loudspeakers so that my parents employ in Mexico. They do not have a stereophony in their housing, and cannot really listen to the radio in any event, since the local music is not their favourite. They said that they like the quality of sound and they are very happy with this system and employ it with their Ipod, and also they like that they can disconnect it and to take it on the patio in the afternoon and the music of play without cords or cables.

starsvery good sound for the size
I had the MM50 which broke but Logitech replaced it with this model. I think this model is slightly louder, but at lower levels for some reason I think the mm50 sounded slightly better(they seem very close to each other in sound quality though). The other improvements are the buttons on the MM50 could break off after use these buttons seem more sturdy, and you can fit the power pack in the traveling case which is a big plus. They also included more iPod attachments to fit other iPods well into the dock. The remote is better on this version also, the surround enhancement option or whatever they call it on this version is useless imo it distorts the sounds. Overall this is probably the best option right now for a good sounding portable solution for the iPod just don't expect when taking it outside to be too far away from it for enjoyment, it is good for 1-3 people if you sit close to it, inside a smaller room it is fantastic.

starsGreat portable speakers for your iPod touch.
Noise of these speakers large. Made well and very transportable with a nice case. For the price you obtain excellent loudspeakers and portability. We think that it is a very good purchase!

starsLogitech I-Pod speaker system
The product arrived safely and in a timely manner. The sound is better than I would have expected and I really like the internal battery that allows us to move it easily around the house and outdoors. We ended up getting a second one since we liked the first one so much.

starsExcellent sound, excellent price
I obtained this like Christmas present and was completely astonished by the fantastic noise. I had sought a portable loudspeaker of IPOD regulated for my office with work and this does not disappoint. Outside is impressive, as him orders all the orders of IPOD. It is so easy to pack to the top and to take it with you and me had the really good life on the load of battery. It is a flight and certainly in value the money. I project on thus buying for my part at the house I can keep my other with work.

starsYou wont regret it!

starsgreat little speakers
these are great sounding and portable speakers.....I can't imagine you disapointed sharing your sounds on the deck or on the dock..........got mine delivered for just over $102

starsMound of Sound
I bought this as an XMAS gift for my girlfriend. I bought her an Ipod Nano last year and have been looking/comparing speakers for a while, I know quite a few people with the JBL line of products, and while items like the Creature are excellent, they are just too bulky. After much research I decided on this handy little item.
Not only was my girlfriend thrilled to finally take her music anywhere---but, I was blown away by the AWESOME sound this little puppy produces. It's small enough to take anywhere, even comes with a great carrying case, that holds your Ipod. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cost effective solution to Ipod Speakers.
It really fills up a room with sound and the remote control is an added bonus, not to mention the rechargeable battery. So whether you are looking for something for around the house or a nice way to take your tunes to the beach/pool--you will not be disappointed.

starsToo much trouble
I have just given up after waiting 32 minutes for Logitech phone support. I'm about ready to give up completely on the Pure-Fi Anywhere: I ordered one, couldn't get it to work, called for tech support, they couldn't figure it out, said to send it back. I did. Amazon was great and I got another one immediately. So just got a new one, charged it up, tried to get it to work, still can't get this one to work, just tried to call tech support again, gave up because I can't wait on the phone that long.
If I could reach their tech support, I would know if this is a case of lightning striking twice in the same spot or not. Meantime, I would caution anyone else to be wary.

starsVery low volume
I like compact dimension and the case of voyage, but unless you sit down directly in front of him, it is difficult to hear. I compensated for all my music of iPod maximum volume, but must always turn volume all the manner upwards on the logitech of hearing comfortably. Moreover, it is annoying that the unit seems to turn to far around every 5 minutes while running on batteries.

starsGood for the orice and size
I use these speakers in hotel rooms while traveling with an iPod Classic 160GB. (I have also tested my iPod TOuch and an iPhone, all work with no problems and dock adapters are included). In my opinion, the sound is very good for the size. Don't expect this to rival your home stereo or much larger speaker systems, there's just not a ton of bass or very great highs, which is to be expected from a single, small active driver. Given that there is only one driver though, the sound quality is quite amazing. There's a certain 'coherency' that comes from having one driver which just catches your ear, and this system brings that out. The passive driver helps with providing decent bass response, in my comparison the best in systems of this size. I find sound quality best when I place the system on a desk or nightstand at least 12" back from the edge. I listen for hours without getting that feeling of being worn out by bad sound.

The remote mostly works well, but there does seem to be a slight delay between pushing buttons on the remote and when the function on the iPod is carried out, I would guess about 1/2 second in some cases. Not a big deal when you get used to it. The volume control when used from the remote seems to be quite sensitive. This remote allows you to operate all functions of the iPod using the remote, which is a nice feature, assuming you're able to read the iPod screen from accross the room.

There's a 3.5mm (little) headphone jack on the back to which you can plug in another device. I often use this to plug in my laptop, as these speakers are superior to my laptop speakers. by a landslide. (The cable is not included but only costs a few dollars at Amaon or BestBuy)

If you want to use your iPod as an alarm clock, you can use this device as your speaker. I have found that in order for that to work reliably it does need to be plugged in to power. After your iPod has been off for a few minutes, the speakers will power down, but they will automatically power back up when your iPod starts playing a song as a result of an alarm. (This is a feature that has been added since the MM-50, which was the previous model on which this did not work)

The power adapter is small and has a convenient holder to wrap the cord around. With cord and all, it will fit in the well for the iPod when traveling, and the whole combination, complete with remote, will fit in the included fairly small travel case. (With the predecessor MM-50 the power supply would not store in the case)

The functions on the remote have been greatly extended since the MM-50, now you can control anything your iPod can do. The price you pay to do this is the loss of the iPod doc connector at the back of the unit. It used to be possible to plug the audio/video cable in the back of the MM-50, then use the video output to connect to a monitor or TV. Since this connector is not there on this model, you can no longer do that. (Probably for most people this is not a big loss since they simply use the speakers in the TV)

The power meter showing battery level is quite useful. It also has an indicator to let you know when outlet power is plugged in, this is useful so you know for sure the internal battery is charging. The claimed battery life of 10 hours is a bit on the optimistic side, of course a lot depends on how loud you play the unit. My experience has been between 3 and 7 hours.

While the unit is plugged in, the iPod or iPhone that's connected will be charged. While the unit is running on battery, they will NOT be charged. So make sure you have both your speakers and your iPod charged!

I picked this unit after listening to and trying about 30 of them, based on ease of use, travel size, sound quality and its ability to take an input from my laptop. I travel about half the year so it gets frequent use and is carried in carry-on on a plane at least once a week. So far, it has lived and continues to work well.

starsThese little babies ROCK!!!
After having sought loudspeakers of Ipod during a few months I was sold on the reviews the loudspeakers of Altech Lansing received and directed to better buy to buy them. I brought my Ipod with me to examine them outside and was very disappointed. With low volume, the loudspeakers of Altech resounded large but when I started it to the top of the noise was soundproofed and twisted. I looked towards Bose but $399 were a tad more than I wanted to pay. I threw a glance on the loudspeakers of Pure-Fi Logitech and decided to examine those, being Logitech never has to the bottom left me before (my loudspeakers at the house of theatre and loudspeakers without wire are Logitech). Again... Logitech will always have me as a spokesman for them because these small loudspeakers resound excellent! The noise is as clear as Bose and the low one that you obtain will shock. Take your Ipod with you and examine them for yourself outside.

starsThe battery does not work
I have some problems to try to make the loudspeakers with the lit stay whereas they are not connected. The product promises 10 hours of battery (with a whole load). Well, in my case I feel lucky when the batteries last 10 minutes. I feel the disappoi

starsAmazing sound quality and awesome battery!
I bought these loudspeakers and was astounded with the quality of the noise which these things have eteint! You will not be disappointed by the volume which these things can produce! I have a pair of impressive loudspeakers of Sony with a full stereo system which I hang my computer with by the entries of RCA and it was how I was accustomed to listening to my music... that I always employ them, but these loudspeakers compete really their quality and is so much more portable, I can put them everywhere where I am in the room and use outside to make a pause, to jump, and direct the iPod! I will have to agree with others criticize about the limited range of outside, but it was not something of paramount importance for me. The battery rocks and the loudspeakers are really compact... modern are filled with wonder. Great price too!

starsGreat sonic bang for the buck
I've used this unit for approx. a month now. The sturdy case travels well, although it gets a second look from the security folks at the airport scanner. The charging cord and worldwide adaptor are well-designed and fit nicely into the case when closed. It would've been nice to include enough room for the iPod as well. The system is great for the hotel room or camping trip and if you're realistic about the expected sound quality from a pair of 2" drivers, you'll be pleasantly surprised. In addition to the 2" drivers, it has a pair of what Logitech calls "pressure drivers", actually passive radiators that really help push out the bass. The surround sound button adds that extra wide sound, but it's not appropriate for every recording. Logitech ships a set of plastic inserts to accomodate EVERY iPod out there. I have the 80GB classic video, and it docks nicely, although you don't want to bump it too hard or you may damage the connector. The fold out legs with rubber feet make it stable. The 3.5mm AUX line in is nice for those other audio sources. Battery life is decent, but don't expect it to pound out the tunes all weekend w/o a recharge. In the hotel or at home, just plug it in and you'll have tunes as long as you need them, and it'll charge the iPod while docked. The included remote is really handy, well laid out and has a good range. The Altec Lansing and Bose units sound better, but are much bulkier and definitely pricier. All in all a good improvement to the MM50 system for the money.

starsGreat for the traveling with
I appreciate this improvement with my experiment of ipod. Logitech conceived a great system of loudspeaker of voyage which is very portable, but has the great noise. The remote not very which came with him took to obtain used with, but is handy when you do not want to leave the bed to change volume or what you listen. Strongly recommend.

starsGreat upgrade to the MM50
I have the Logitech MM50 and I have been very happy with that product. There are two annoying things about that product, the battery life is not all that great and the power adapter has no storage within the package.

That's where the the Pure-Fi Anywhere product shines. The battery meter and the ability to stow the power adapter in with the speakers is great. Believe it or not, the sound quality is even better then the MM50's which is very good as well.

I haven't been disappointed with either product.
