Overpriced, but good quality
I purchased the Monster brand of HDMI cable, because the guys at Circuit City raved about the quality. Well, it is a well-made cable, and the Amazon vendor was much cheaper than the big stores (Circuit City, Best Buy, even Wal-Mart.) However, I did some research and purchased a Sony Playstation HDMI 1.3 cable which is just as good as Monster at about half the price. Furthermore, I just purchased a 10' off-brand HDMI cable from an Amazon vendor for $12, and it also works perfectly! So, save your money and don't feed the "Monster".

Just bought it for about 20% less than at the store. I had a $25 HDMI cable and to be honest do not visually see a difference in picture quality on my 52" sharp aquos.


Yes, it does make a difference !
We bought this cable thinking it would not make a difference, however it did ! The DirecTV HD which was hooked up with a cheap $5 HDMI cable had some dropouts and blurring. That is all gone with this Monster HDMI cable. I recommend this product, it's worth the money !


Is it really just another cable?



Save you $$$$$
I use this cable, in order to connect my hp satellite DVR receiver and my sharp Aqua. I cannot explain the difference between this hdmi to cable and hdmi, which came with the DVR. I permit that my illustration was perfect, before I bought the cable, but I had to waste something money, thus I mean cables improved. I like that the cable does large something and I not it see can, just, like a super+fast think renew rate, 12 bit colors and one ultra high-speed data communication; it helps me to sleep at night.


Major rip-off
HDMI is a digital signal, 1's and 0's. A well constructed cable (you can get that for $10) will work just great. Monster is a major rip-off, think before you buy!!


Works well
Pretty direct, the DVD player on mean LCD hello def television set with this afterwards. The purchase it in best buy/circuit town center would've cost me three times to so much. For one month and kept entire good DVD admission used it. No objections.

I purchased these cables (2) for peace of mind. I have these cables hooked up to my dish box and my blue ray player and can't honestly say that I can tell a noticeable difference in the quality of picture compared to my HD player with a cheaper Philips brand cable. I purchaded a Samsung LCD with the auto motion plus so for my own peace of mind I wanted to go with high quality cables. The picture is great with these cables and they were half the price that best buy was selling them for.


Hey its a HDMI cable
Hey these cables work! Some people are mad they spent all the money on these cables, but if you did your research you would have known if it mattered what type of HDMI you need or if there was a difference. I have ALWAYS been impressed with Monster brand products. They are what you pay for...high quality. It does not mean these are better then a cheaper brand or version. These cables do exactly what they claim...deliver a high quality HD picture from your HD tuner or accessory.

Monster Over Priced Cables
Don't believe Monster's constant bombardment of 'facts' showing why you should pay big bucks for their cables. HDMI 1.3a cables can be had for as little as 10 bucks for a 6 footer. If a cable has the 1.3a rating it is good enough for 1080p and all versions of audio. Case closed


Great picture now
Easy hookup. Picture looks much better and clearer now. Used this to hook up HD LCD TV to an HD Dish receiver. Picture was so-so before, now it's very clear.

After the mechanism cable arrived approximately two weeks. Price was over half of the electric circuit city price. Everything was fine.


Ultra Not
I own alot of monster cables, mainly M series with one Z series, I would swear by monster. have had no problem paying the price in the past 25 years for what I considered a great cable. Same here when I bought this cable. Hooked it up to a Pioneer Pro Plasma and a Panasonic 30 blueray 1080P 1.3. put in newly arrived flyboys, after about 30 seconds of play the screen went blank and a code of U73 appeared on the Panasonic. checked the cable to ensure the cable was all the way pluged in on both components, it was. returned to the movie again, after a few minuites picture gone again,code U73 back again. got out the manual- check cable. so I moved everything again grabed a spare Philips PXT1000 HDMI pluged it in and watched the entire movie with no problem. I hate to say it, but I agree with some of the other reviews.since monster has moved their operations overseas, I feel the quality and name does not mean a thing anymore. the old addage you get what you pay for no longer applies.
I just purchased 2 more Philips PXT1000 cables for less than 1 Monster. have had no problems with them on my 50"
or my 37". the 37" LCD my kids use for playstation 3 and have had no problems in 1080P 1.3 , could I recomend the monster cable? NO

It is a rip off
Before I bought this cable, which I used Philips HDMI cable Sony from the blue jet to my pioneer plasma television set and which illustration better as if was, which I see now with monster cable. I really use the European version 750 HDMI. I would say that simply each requirement, which you can read on the box does not align is fair. The illustration is less sharply, than my Philips HDMI and collors, they seem, a very slight green/yellow hue to have differently is sometimes visibly main, in the red tones. The contrast is not as so good, which I obtained with Philips, which was obviously many more inexpensive. Although the illustration is not as much different to my original cable, if I watch out a film, he, how somewhat is missing, believes therefore holds I to adjust my television set attitudes but I seem not to receive the desired result.

Overpriced
Completely Overpriced. There is no doubt, which is these good cables, but I am recommended, to something like crosshead means to receive or high end (their low end forgret). Radio-chop sold also middle end of cables, which are perfectly good (you forget again over the low end), if you go to much of the money in front to to burn and monsters received. They find probably the most inexpensive price for it here on Amazon. But I recommend not to waste me your money!


Gauranteed bandwidth is worth the price, should be much more flexible
I bought three 1000HD cables in various lengths and they are very well made, and work as advertised.

Much of the commentary on these reviews leaves out an important factor in the "digital is digital" critiques. The specifications for HDMI include many levels of bandwidth that are required for various digital formats. HDMI is unique in that if a given cable (or any component) cannot deliver the full bandwidth for a given format (i.e. there are too many errors received) it automatically steps down to the next lower standard, until it gets to one where it gets error-free data. As a result, some users observe that they get a picture with a cheap cable. Most HDMI cable is adequate for what Cable TV boxes and up-sampled DVD's output, so this expensive wire may not add any value there.

The claims Monster makes on their website for what bandwidth is needed each format, however, are all correct and true to the standards documentation. For HDMI 1.3a, for example, to get Dolby TrueHD uncompressed audio, DTS Master Audio, and deep color video at 1080p, you need substantially more bandwidth than for a cable box with only Dolby Digital and 1080i. If you purchased new equipment that offers these highest resolution formats, I believe the guarantee that this cable exceeds the specified requirements is worth paying more to have.

I did not rate the product a "5" because it is ridiculously stiff, however, something that could well be improved at this price.


A sucker born every minute...
Anyone paying more than 10 dollars for an HDMI cable is a sucker, no if's about it. The better picture quality they are reporting in these reviews cannot be possible! It's a digital signal, it either works 100% or it works 0%. Monster cables are one of the biggest scams out there, they should be illegal!


Don't get TAKEN
There is NO difference between this and any other reasonably built HDMI cable you can buy for $10 or less, here, or elsewhere. NONE. AT ALL. This is not an opinion, it's engineering.

Purchased and installed the cable, it works great. I just purchased a $2000 sony tv and I pay about $70 month for hd cable service. Why would I buy a cheap cable?

Better than the cheap ones
While I read here and other places the fact that there is no visible inexpensive and better difference between cables of the degree HDMI does not support my separator driving this opinion. Save yourself some blog reading, it's a good cable
I bought a Samsung 4065F roasted on in the orange county as well as $70 2m a monster 500 row cable, straight because the chap her recommended: "it is which I at home uses," (surely). I measured and represented, me to I, which only 1 meter of cables was needed, therefore returned the inexpensive HDMI cable and received to a 1m 700 row monster cable for the same price as the 2m 500 row. Again we are dazzled completely by the view (and the clay/tone) by our Samsung 4065F. The 700 did not accomplish to improve somehow as the 500 but we possibly buy somewhat future protection, if powerplant pushes out at all an applicable signal 1080p (it is now 720p, 1080i). There can be large cables there for a better price, but please fair confidence your eyes and ears out and wasted not too much time measured value InterNet blogs.


Take the good with the bad
I bought two of these for my new Samsung 4071f HDTV, and Panasonic blu ray player. Put one on the HDTV that worked great, but when I plugged the blu ray one in, the player gave me a code for a defective HDMI cable. The screen would flicker randomly.

I thought for sure that there would be no problems buying a product like this online, but now I'm not so sure.


Great cable, but not worth the $$$
It's great cable, but not worth the $$. I bought this one and compare it with the monoprice cable (<$6 vs $80), I saw no noticable difference. And after seeing the eye diagram that some one done the comparison with monoprice vs monsters, I'm convince the more expensive one won't be any better. Check it out on google for the comparison, a very good one.




Worth the money
This cable is ehrfuerchtig. I use it for my PS3, in order to watch out blue jet of films and play plays on my Vizio 1080p HDTV. Illustration is the way, which is with this cable sharper and brighter, than with usual HDMI cable I has. Point pricey, but, if you wish the best, this is it. It would recommend definitely to my friends.

Very recently, I bought at best a purchase to television. They do not sell the $5 and $10 HDMI cables, which find you on, roasted or on Amazon, therefore I preceded and bought this cable. I thought that I would not care me, after all spent I thousands on the television set, but he I held Gezeter. Thus I bought a cable from Amazon (search for HDMI and you sees some marks) to $2 HDMI. MONSTER WORTH IT!!
I just got these cables on Nov27/07 and they work great I use it for my ps3 and my xbox 360. They Picture is awsome. i bought some other hdmi cables on amazon and my 360 wouldnt even go to 1080p. It would only stay on 1080i. This Cable is playing on a 42in Hitachi. The price is high but monster gives you life time warrnty on the cable. Dont get fooled by those cheap prices stick with monster you will get your moneys worth!!!!

In a word - OVERPRICED
I work for a company that manufactures equipment for the Broaband industry. One of our product lines are HDTV A/V cables. They are of comparable high quality to Monster cables; made to very exacting standards with premium materials. We sell them for profit at around $20 -- and they are even 3 feet longer than the Monster version ( compared to the 1 meter size).

People need to realize that they are paying too much!

Sure, Monster makes a good cable, there is no denying that. Deserving of 5 star rating for what it is.
But it is NOT worth a what they are charging. Minus 3 stars.

Look at it this way. When you buy Monster cables, 30% of what you pay for is the cable, and the remaining 70% pays for the brand name and the hype that goes with it. (They must spend a ton of money in marketing and you pay for it)

Shop around. Read about it in online forums. There are junk cables out there so be cautious, but don't believe you have to pay an arm and a leg for a quality cable. HDMI is a digital format, just 1s and 0s. It will either work or it won't, and the "quality" of the cable will not make or break it.

Outstanding Monster Cable
This cable is a fine piece of manufacturing. I bought for my PS3 to connect to my Sony 32 inche Bravia. I want a high quality transport and Monster is one of the best. Most don't need this quality, but if you feel that you want the capability to expand as the state of the art changes, this cable will give it to you. The length give you mobility, without losing signal quality. The construction of the cable allows for signal expansion up to 1 Ghz in transfer rate. although a bit pricey it was worth it in my opinion.


Works well with 1080p
I use this for hp DVD, illustration and clay/tone am faultless! All cables are worth, which I use in my main theatre, each penny!
