A Great Product for the Price
I ordered this product for a birthday gift for my friend. She loved it absolutely from the minute that she opened it. I legend that the consumption of the keys on the back point confusing is. I learned if you fair view at the arrow symbols on the screen and the keys directly behind those arrows, product, movement. I recommend any kind of the coded map in high of degrees. This increases that quantity of illustrations, which can store you. I recommend also the purchase coded map of a reader for your coded map, if your computer does not have. If not you must separate its framework everytime, wish add/remove illustrations over the USB cable. This starts the user the attitudes on the framework to reset to have. There is not one night, or day, which does not go through that the framework, is switched on for view pleasure. I could not find a product on the market for the price with this height of an evaluation. Kodak seems to be after in this market. Regard evaluations there.


Fantastic Picture Quality
I purchased this for my wife for Christmas and it performs magnificently. Pictures are easy to load and the on-board capacity is more than ample. Best of all, the picture quality is tremendous. So many digital frames turn great pictures into washed out garbage, but this is very realistic. It's a little pricey, but you won't be let down.

Picture perfect
We've had the Philips digital frame for a couple of weeks. We are extremely happy with the purchase. The clear and black frame is sleek and tasteful. I think it would fit in any decor. Set up was a no brainer. Works with a variety of flash media cards as well as a small amount of on board memory. I would strongly recommend additional flash card. Since I have a flash card reader on my Mac there's no need to attach frame to USB of computer. Just copy images on to flash card and pop it into the slot on back of frame. If you have limited computer experience menu may be a little confusing but should be relatively easy for those who have experience. Picture quality is excellent and has controls to adjust brightness.


Digital Photo Frame fun but not easy
I purchased the photo frame for my senior citizen mother for Christmas. For a senior citizen she's pretty good with techncial stuff, but this has been a challenge.

Plugging in a memory card and letting the slide show play is very easy - and the approach I would suggest. Loading pictures onto the frame's internal memory and then working thru the various menus to add / delete / etc is not intuitive.

Coincidentally I personally received a Kodak digital photo frame for Christmas. It doesn't even have n internal memory so you must use a memory card. But the simplified functionality makes it easier to use. The menus are more intuitive.

The picture quality is quite good on both the Philips and the Kodak.


Philips 6.5 inch Digital Picture Frame rerwiew.
I bought this for my Mamma for Christmas. She loved it!!. I loaded it with illustrations forwards, charged the battery, changed the attitudes, and dispatched. IchWAR in the situation to load at least 60 illustrations with the existing memory. I bought extra-coded maps, in order to fill and dispatch for other holiday surprises later.


Difficult to setup
It took so long, in order to base! My cannot read from the coded map directly. After 30minutes of giving it had to fall back a shot, I to attaching by USB at PC. After the high shop of the documents, still, does not work, because it does not recognize document, which do not have right document name. After repairing of document, it still no photos on internal memory (a wrong error message is) says names, because it requires users to make possible for all photos for the Slideshow manually. This manual process always takes, because the grazing screen renews so slowly, and the keys are not intuitive at all! Which for pain in the piston! I lost complete faith to Philips. It should not be a hard thing to co-ordinate to the software straight in order to be more user friendly (like the elections, to "from of Slideshow to to select all photos". Differently than lightbulbs and razors buy I not another Philips's electronics.


Interface a bit hard for a novice.
This is a great product, however, the interface was a bit difficult to figure out at first. The buttons on the top of the frame are not intutive. It takes some time playing around with them to get. In contrast, the picture quality is great. (Some photos are cropped if they don't fit the frame's required demensions. However, most of the photos look incredible.) We've gotten a great response from family members and friends about the frame. After you've figured out how to use the frame, it is really easy to put new pictures on it.


Great little frame
I really love this framework. I copied a bundle of illustrations on a coded map (not included), attached it, switched on him, and it functioned! The attitudes were simple to steer, and the screen is nice and bright. All and everything, much fulfills.


Great gift for practically anyone
We bought this as a gift for my husband's parents after much research and reading other reviews. They have a digital camera, so we thought they would really enjoy this. We were right. I set it up for them with little effort. I took it out of the box, inserted the memory card, plugged it in, and set the date and time. It was truly that simple. The random play method had already been set. The picture quality was much better than I expected.

It was a huge hit with the whole family. The only drawback for us was it did not include a remote. Other than that minor nuisance, I can't think of a single negative about this frame.


Best digital frame
I bought this for my Mamma for Christmas. Is thus excited over it and was able to adjust it up without computer knowledge. She said that the clarity of the pictures is wonderful.

great find if you can find it on sale, excellent quality video
entire its a large framework. I am a perfectionist, if he comes to digital technique. I consider each small error. The image quality is a Sd of television set (720 x 480) is much better, than most frameworks regarded I. The only expenditure is the menu system is a little annoying. I wish that they would come out with a note screen version. The photos are simple to load. I use Mac and PC and both work very well. If you can find the framework around approximately hundred dollars, seize it.


This is the frame for Grandma
My criteria for a digital picture frame:
- Looks good
- Can be updated easily
- Can be used by my 90 year old grandmother, without help

This picture frame met those criteria.

It's got a 720x480 resolution, and the pictures are bright and clear. The 6.5" picture is more than enough for showing off memories even with only questionable eyesight.

Pictures are loaded onto memory cards, of which the frame supports multiple formats, and updating is as easy as replacing one $10 1GB memory card with another. (So you can update Grandma's collection whenever you see her, or send her a new card.)

Once you have the frame setup with the right refresh rates and turn the date/time indicator off, those values stick.

As a gift, Grandma attaches the power plug, and turns it on with the button on the side. Everything works.

The downsides:
The controls are screwy, and take a bit of getting used to. I wouldn't ask someone who doesn't like to fiddle to deal with them.

The clock resets itself--and because it is set by the aforementioned annoying controls, it's better to just shut it off. Besides, everybody has access to at least 4 time-keeping devices--they don't need another one blocking part of their pictures.




Great Digital Photo Frame!
I bought this fram for my mother-in-law for Christmas and it was a large success! I wish that I had for me! (tip to my family, if it this!!! read) I copied the illustrations on a Sd map and it functioned large. It lasted some more minutes, in order to program it, the one other family member fast. It turns off with 9pm and concerns with everday 8am - I think, which is fantastisch! The only problem, which I have with it, is that I bought a sharp drive (kind of stick drive) over with it to use and discovers, after I bought it and loaded him with the illustrations, which would not accept it the sharp drive. It is not my disturbance for reading off, it would accept which kinds of means. I became calmly however it again and for me to still wish, therefore I recommend it definately.


Made a good gift
I found it simple and simple to create and bring photos, which were important, since it was a gift. The screen is free and sharp. Most possible Cons did not constitute to me. This framework has only something from established in the memory, therefore I used an old CF map, the dust collected. It does not have a remote maintenance or a play MP3's or a wireless ability, but I was purchase for someone, which needed simplicity, not extra characteristics. A larger screen would be nice, but strongly quality screen improved at this price to find.


very good photo frame
I bought 2 that framework, in order to offer as gifts for my nut/mother and grandmother, and they were both very pleased! Field quality is very well, definitely better than other frameworks, which I saw. It stands on the heavy metal foot location, in Portrait portrait-oder the landscape mode strongly. The framework could copy all documents of my Sd maps, and sees it to Windows.xp as drive, as soon as you clog it in a USB gate. No necessity to determine the illustrations again the size the framework does it very well. Problems: the user interface is (however he a little difficult, is it not a Apple product) and all attitudes are lost, if you separate the energy, even straight one second. That is to be switched on very annoying, since the framework can be created, over and away based on the time.


Very Nice Product, Directions are So-So
I bought this product as a gift, based on some of the reviews listed. You can almost pull the item out of the box and use it, that is almost. While it is easy to use, the instructions leave out an important picture or phrase-- it does not tell you how to get to the settings menu! This caused my mother-in-law frustration, she thought the frame was broken. I looked at for her, and yes it appeared that something was not right. It wasn't until I noticed that the icons on the main screen were highlighted at different times, and that was were the settings menu was.

Other than that, the product is great!


Nice product but no usb plug
Beautiful screen, Easy to download pics from computer. I wish I could plug a flash drive into the frame but no usb port. Good quality.



Excellent frame
This is an excellent frame. The resolution/clarity is great and it is attractive (likely to satisfy anyone's decor/tastes). The only complaint is the poorly written instructions. But ultimately, after getting over the initial learning curve, it is easy enough to use.

Built in memory is 10Mb, enough for about 10 pictures. But the card reader is the way to go, of course.


digital picture frame
This was my first acquisition on digital bilderrahmen. I read the reports on Amazon, before I bought and decided to go with this. I am glad I. It was material simple to adjust the master clock and to load the illustrations in the framework from the computer and in the coded map from the digital camara. It had a large illustration, which was clear and Chipslette. The only thing, which I can think of that, I on this is not real may, if you separate the framework and shift it, somewhere otherwise you the master clock to reset have. I bought this for my Mamma for Christmas and plan now on me also buy one.

Is not a bad unit, but the menu the way also less favourable and the directions suck. The illustration quality is good, but not really much better then more inexpensive units, which I saw.


Good price, great picture
At 720x480, this digital photo frame has better resolution (sharper picture) than most other frames of this size, which are typically only 480x230 - and look grainy. I also like that it comes with enough internal memory to store about a dozen pictures - which means I don't feel obligated to buy a memory card when giving it away as a gift. The controls took a little time to understand, but that's what I get for not reading the manual. I wish the clock in the corner wasn't part of the default setting - it can be turned off, but most people probably don't want to mess with setting the time or changing the display settings.



1 out of 3 were broken . Picture quality is nice. Philips stands behind their product
Purchased 3 of these frames for X-Mas gifts. One of them would NOT power up and really upset me since it was a gift. Called Philips and they sent me a new frame after two weeks. I still sent the broken frame back for a refund and will get one as a replacement locally. Sorry Philips, but this put a bad taste in my mouth about your company and your products quality.


Great picture, great price, two minor dislikes
I bought this frame for my mothers Christmas gift.
The picture quality was outstanding as was the asthetics of the frame itself. Very smart and modern looking.
Very happy with the frame except for these minor points:-
1> The menu is not the as straightforward to navigate as it could be
2> The pictures change at different speeds depending on the size of the file. Even though there is a setting to set change interval (5 sec, 10 sec etc) they take a lot longer to change for bigger files. I wish it would somehow preload the next picture into memory so the change timing stayed the same.
Overall I would recommend this product


Good Value
The frame itself is very nice. The display is very sharp. Setup is a breeze. I wish it had a battery to backup the clock. I turned the clock display off because of this. It would also be nice if it came packaged with a memory card. I would have spent more to get both items at once.

Unbelievably simply to also use and cause. Mine only problem had to go through a new Canon scanner, therefore my wife in more illustrations could make a blueprint, in order to set their digital bilderrahmen on.

is a great picture frame for the money. hard to set clock but looks great and was easy to hook up.


Great picture - not compatible with Mac
The only reason I bought this frame for the picture quality. You have to nearly have your nose to the glass to see any pixels - which is far better than most other offerings in the market. Great definition, accurate colors, pleasing to look at.

This frame would be 5 starts EXCEPT the provided software is mostly useless to me because it does not work on my MacBook. When installed on my work PC (IBM), the auto-loading CD brings up a website that causes red flags with my firewall. I managed to get the software installed, but not without some hassle. There are, however, other ways to get pictures loaded on the unit.


The Best
The clarity is amazing. I bought one for my boyfriend for Christmas and he absolutely loves it! The only problem is that I'm completely lost when it comes to technology, it was difficult for me to resize some of the pictures. I let my boyfriend do all the technical stuff and he thought it was easy to use. Guess it just depends on the person.
He keeps the frame plugged in all the time and let's the slideshow play continuously. So far, no problems. The frame never overheats and it plays perfectly. Definitely worth paying more for this one!


Looks pretty good when it's working.
Does what it says, the LCD is great, in general pictures look very good. Had the unit lock up on me though and a reset did not cure it. Had to update the firmware which required the purchase of a memory card and card reader to do the job. One other small quibble, when you start the device with a memory card in it, it automatically copies the contents of the card to the device, I'd rather it didn't do that as now I have to go in and delete the pictures I don't want which is clumsy through the device. Overall though, I'd recommend this unit to a friend.


the worst experience with a electronic device i've ever had
I have purchased two of these photo frames trying to get one to perform adequately. The first had a dilated pixel. The second would only read half of the jpgs I loaded onto it. I have just spent an hour trying to upgrade this photo frame's firmware, but the frame will not read the upgrade per the instuctions provided by the philips web site. I cannot remember ever having such a frustrating, negative experience with an piece of electronics.


Very nice digital frame
I am quite impressed with this frame. I bought it for my wife for Christmas. I got different digital picture frames for other family members last year that were close in price that don't even come close to the quality of this frame. I know a year of technology can make a difference, but it sure made a big difference as far as digital picture frames go. The resolution is excellent. The overall quality is very good.
There is only 8mb of internal space, but that is actually not a bad amount if you crop the images down in an image editor such as PhotoShop. I know other people have said in their reviews that they were unable to view images on the frame that have been edited in PhotoShop, but I had no issues. I saved my file as a high quality jpeg cropped to the pixel dimensions of the frame and they came out perfectly. There is a slot that accepts SD memory cards, so load this up with a 1 gig card and you have virtually unlimited space for cropped images. I would highly recommend this frame.


Great Image but wouldn't read Compact Flash cards
I bought two, since gifts had and each material trouble to read compact sharp maps. I could never read an assigned CF map, before the framework was switched on. When switched on it would read, possibly kardieren an assigned CF 1/10. of the time. If you do not use Sd maps then, this works on largely, the illustration quality is excellent. But, if you mostly use CF maps then, I would not recommend me.


Great Digital Frame
We bought 2 of these - one to send to each grandmother. We use Macs, not PCs, and it was unclear in anything I read before I bought them on whether these would work with Macs, but these worked fine. We exported our pictures from iPhoto to .jpg files and then, treating the frame like a drive, we copied the files onto the frame. I'm not sure how big the built-in memory is, as it wasn't in the written documentation. I put about 45 pictures on it with no problem. The controls and menus are easy to understand and use, with lots of options. The picture is terrific - clear and bright. There's a CD with it, but we were able to set it all up without using the CD. Our grandmothers loved them - just popped them out of the box and turned them on to see the pictures.


Definitely beats all digital frames in its class.
I did a decent amount of research before purchasing this item. Its not often that you see a digital frame at the 6-7 inch size display 800 by 600 resolution, so that was definitely the frame's selling point for me. However, its price range detracted me a little from purchasing right off the bat.

After some research on digital frames, the verdict came down to two frames which i thought would make a good comparison depending on feature set, price range, and amount of positive/negative reviews. One frame was this philips 6.5 inch frame, and the other was the kodak 8-inch non-wifi SV811 frame. I chose the philips one, and stand by it!

Pros:
- the frame was made for pictures and images, and they look fantastic compared with other frames my family/friends, and i have. I've compared the frame's visual screen with the kodak's sv811, western digital frames, and pandigital frames, and the philips frame is by far the most visually amazing.
- It comes with 4 interchangeable frames you can magnetically latch on and off. This is really cool, because i bought several of these frames for my family, and now we can all uniquely change the frame accordingly to what color we feel like at the moment =)
- the philips frame comes in different osd languages, which is pretty important to me, since my parents have trouble speaking english and would definitely prefer playing with something that has there own language.

Con's:
- the only gripe i have with this frame is that, it only supports images... no video media of any sort.

Despite the video drawback, I dont really see anything else as a negative for this frame besides maybe its high premium (price). The screen is REALLY amazing compared with other frames, i cant stop raving about how amazing it looks especially when you sit it with other frames.




Great little frame
I looked for a small digital framework for desk of my wife. I wished a bright illustration, a high Res illustration and simple enterprises. Crosshead success the marking on all three. I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality-exactly described announcement of ours pics. Plus I received very much on Amazon! I recommend this digital frameworks, if announcement quality is your goal.

For $129 I that a framework should like nicer, believed as this. For not many more I was not to find a better quality-wooden framework which looked more expensively, it was to mention a 8"Schirm


great product, great deal
First I located the best product. There were NO, I repeat, NO decent digital frames under $200 except this one. Why this one? Because it had excellent resolution, easy to use. Then I researched price. You'll never find this product for less money, I doubt it is still this inexpensive. Fair warning: all of those frames that either don't mention the resolution, or do mention that it is something like 400x232 or somehting like that, are fuzzy, poor quality, and very unpleasant to look at. Sorry, I don't mean to spoil it for those of you who only had $59 or $79 or $99 for a digital frame, but they just aren't worth it.


Nice, but it broke the first day
I liked this product first and adjusted it above within some minutes. However the on-off switch broke immediately, and I think for being used that this switch is not meant, as once or twice more. Also I received another framework for Christmas from Brookstone, which touches many more illustrations, and also FROM the AVI documents! I return the Philips's frameworks for a rueckerstattung.


Nice digital picture frame
, no expenditures with shop illustrations etc. have large image quality had, during some different wrote - however then I loaded less than 1 GB photo. , in order to find this frameworks has an internal battery, I was not disappointed thought that I had it a battery had read, thus you it to separate for being able, in order to show others your photos, untethered (assumption was it my read error Spezifikt.?). Anyway pleased in the morning altogether with this product.


Perfect gift

Perfect gift! We bought this as a gift for our grandmother who suffers from Alzheimers. We were even able to add titles and names to help her identify the subjects. Very easy setup, and beautiful picture. Loved the fact that we didn't have to keep a memory card in the frame, you can just download the pics from your card and remove it. No problems or complaints, very pleased!


Crisp pictures but false info
The framework is rather simple to use and the illustrations looks clearly. Pit had the dead ones with 1 pixels from the box near at the center of the screen out. The reason, which I did not hold it, is despite the requirements for crosshead, it supports not all languages, which are registered in technical Spezifikt.. I look for the following mark for a framework with more remote and better language support.

I bought two frameworks for Mamma and mother-in-law. First times I illustrations bringing went through, found I him to confuse something. But, as soon as I explained from the keys, the second framework was very simple to set up. The illustrations were clear and impressed also, as clear they were. Very lucky with this acquisition.

This was given as a gift to our son. He immediately went home and loaded the picture frame and decided that he was going to take it to work for his desk because the resolution was so good. He was thrilled with the frame.

Excellent for your desk.....great picture clarity
I bought this for my desk in the office. It is not too large to set itself by its PC screen. Large clarity. Most does not arrange this size have this dissolution. Instructions are weak up, how one works on the keys for Downloads of your PC. By 6 megapix a camera internal memory, only in the situation zuSEIN seems to hold approximately 25 pics.


Basically good but confusing
What I didn't like: The menu operation and directions are confusing, the CD contains only the Quick Start manual not the full manual, the Adobe software is not very helpful, the time is in 24 hour mode (unless I am missing something in the menu)and apparently not aware of Daylight Savings time, the pictures do not show when the USB cable is connected so you can't feed it pictures from your PC real-time and the internal memmory is limited to under 20 images.

What I did like: I bought a 2 GB SD card for $17 and now leave it in the frame so I can copy many, many pictures to it; the SD memory acts like another hard drive so you can remove,edit,and copy images when connected; simple to drag and drop - but someone who is not computer literate will not be able to deal with it; and the pictures are terrific.



Wow
This was my Christmas present to my mother. It's simply amazing. I thought it could be pretty small, but the size is perfect. It is nice and works pretty well. I think that in the near future everybody will have one of these at their homes.


Good picture quality and worked fine with my Mac
I am impressed with the illustration quality, particularly if it is compared with some other marks, which I saw, which were less straight $20. The additional expenses $20 were the very well spent money. I clogged it in my Mac (current leopard 10.5.1) and it showed above in the Sucher straight like a regular USB drive. IchWAR in the situation to delete and add my even with Muehelosigkeit the demo illustrations. After however the demo illustrations do in such a way, appeared still. In order to repair, I used the deletion all choice then loaded my illustrations again and the demo pics appeared never again. The documents are bare bones. _ IchWAR in the situation, no assistance from it to receive, when try, see, if they any election have, to from of saatbestellung the Portrait orient illustration to prevent. There is nothing falls out, which is geeinbaut, in order this, you to prevent must straight Portrait correctly pics format, in order to prevent unwanted saatbestellung. Standard landscape oriented illustrations announcement well without any necessary adjustments. The ideal relationship is 3:2 and my photos must as that fair somewhat different be, because I have very small black staffs on each side, but it hardly perceptible entire is, the quality is good, was very simple it to attach to my computer and add illustrations, and the menu/navigation of the framework, straight 5 minutes are acceptable lasting or thus to receive used too. This, which I really bought for my father, but I likes it so much that I will order for my office.


Gift for Mom
Mom does not have a memory card. She has to take images off of the computer. The internal memory does not allow many pictures to be stored. However, the pictures look good. It was not outrageously priced. It will be a way for me to share up to date pictures with my Mom. I live in another time zone.


Mine fell off the desk.
During the sentence my unit fell above away from the desk and it recieved a terrible scratch on the indicator screen. The USB cable is very short and with the tension on the cable sets up knocked it over and on the floor, in which it struck a sharp corner on the desk and which indicator screen scratched. I need already a spare part! Differently than that I am lucky with my. Clock out for the short USB cable. I use much longer from my computer supplying materials now. I should in the situation its to designate and order Philips, what I need for the announcement.


Like the Frame
I bought this frame for myself for Christmas. I love the look of the frame and the picture quality is great.
The cons are, that there is not much storage without a media card. So get a media card. After I downloaded my pictures to the media card it was a little difficult to figure out how to few them once I plugged the media card in to the frame. It loaded the pictures put it would not show them. I then took out the media card and the pictures were stored in the frame. I thought that was wired since the directions just said to plug in the media card and the pictures are ready to be viewed. I figured that the media card stays plugged in, in order to view the pictures that are stored on it. But you have to take it out.
Also, the stand does not lock in very well and falls of very easily when you pick up the frame.
Overall so, I love the frame. Just some minor problems.


Top Notch Picture
Gave the woman for Christmas. She loves bright and clear photo announcement, plus the frameworks has something weight, therefore she does not plumpst more rueber unexpectantly. I received this some weeks ago and set up 63 photos on 32 Meg.e ohm of map, which jumps over together 16 Meg.e ohms the internal memory. It lasted little time to compile the successive modes of going through menu but nothing really carried key interface to it, when her the simple high recognized, down (not note a screen). My largest disappointment was, how I assumed that the framework had a support battery, or the ability was to possess to play on it internal battery???? I had easily struck between the Philips's white, wood and this. Dispite that qlitch I held and with this snafu will live the framework. OH-, original price I paid was $120, let of Amazon the price in early December to $99 fall and wrote immediately my visa for the difference well.


Good Product - Poor SD Card support
It is an attractive product with a clear picture and great sound for it's size. Seems fairly easy to use but will not support any SD cards > 1 GB. It will read a 4 GB SD care if it has a USB adaptor so I'm guessing it not a problem that is correctable with a software upgrade (i.e., it appears to be a hardware issue...not sure how this got through the testing department without discovery). Is this mentioned on the box or in the manual? Of course not. Does the tech support center know this - according to other reviews, only about half the time.


A beautiful disappointment...
I did extensive research, before I bought this like a gift for my 90 a yearly nut/mother. Which pleased me over this against many less expensive frameworks, was: simple enterprise, high resolution and an inserted battery thus you could separate it and carry it around, in order to divide illustrations. The pictures are really beautiful. But the product does not come any longer with an inserted battery (Amazon the mention removed from its web site, since I it is still in Philips's ' own product sheet bought). And the interface, although simply (straight some keys) intuitive in no case is. IchBIN to technical things accustoms, yet it lasted me quite when to the illustration out, how one steers the many menus, around which simple task of the shop in some illustrations will do and the annoying resetting of dia. demonstration effects (those the way are, which is diverting too importunate and) and large master clock in the corner of the screen. Unfortunately as soon as you separate it, the resetting bring... it lie on the hand the software were not updated back, since the battery was removed from Produktspezifikt.. It is a beautiful disappointment and, was it, not 2 days before to Christmas, as I discover whole the this, I it for a more fundamental model would return and the saving for a pair of the coded maps would not use.


I love this!
I absolutely love this digital photo frame. Great resolution and color. My husband bought this for me for Christmas 2006. I set it up in our kitchen on the counter. About 3 weeks ago, the digital frame died. I freaked out. I called Amazon. They practically laughed and I'm sure the CS Rep that I was a crazy woman, so I called Phillips and they immediately sent me a replacement and a pre-paid shipping label for the dead frame. I couldn't believe they did this since I had the frame for 11 months! What great customer service.

This year I bought 3 of these frames for gifts.




Very pleased with this digital frame
This is my all first experience with each digital framework, and owing to so many, which repeated this product, I bought two as gifts. It was a little tricky to receive the attitudes as I wished, but that was one learn-circles on using the keys fairly; as soon as I let it explain out, it was a Brise. The framework looks nicely heavily, and believes, how it is building to the latter..., which is the quality of the illustrations the way, which is better, than I became expected, thus I was very pleased. It did not last much time at all to the load, and during it any internal memory has, pays it, to buy an external coded map and a fair load above it with tons of photos. You do everyone this for will love it, and I was -, thus thrilled hoped I to order me today one, but I see that they are not available! In high of degrees recommended, particularly for the price...


Great picture but lacks memory
This product has a large illustration, but lacked in the memory memory, if it loads illustrations from your computer. It has MT only 9. With a quantity saatbestellung and was I in the situation to load 15 illustrations. For the price they should come with at least MT 64 or more. The illustration was bright and the frameworks was strong.


Good picture frame
Purchased this for my mother, but tested it out before hand. I am very happy with the product. It has very good resolution, most of the pictures are taken with a 5MP camera and are crisp on the frame. The slide show mode is good, and especially the option to have it turn on and off at certain times of the day (ie - on at 8am, off 8pm). Highly recommend.


Great Picture Quality
I purchased this frame as a gift for my brother and his girlfriend for Christmas. My plan was to download some family pictures from my PC before actually giving it to them, but I was not able to get that feature to work. If you're using a memory card, it is very easy to use and the picture quality is excellent.


Very easy...Nice picture
This frame is really simple. It has simple set up instructions which were all I needed. The picture is really clear. I only used the internal memory and have about 15 pictures - with plenty of room for more. In all, I spent about 20 minutes doing the set up and loading all the pictures.

I bought it at a big-box electronic store on 12/15/07 for $123.00 + tax.


Excellent Product
This photo framework is by far the largest bang for dollar. Despite its inability to play MP3's like you some the other players, improve it certainly than the competition with its entire appearance and dissolution. Dissolution is in the category the by far highest and the end is much better than the others cheapo marks, which find you in your local electronics memory. Screen layout is a Schnaepper, and software is not bad. It serves certainly its purpose and regards I, received it on sales for $99 with Amazon. I would recommend surplus each possible other mark to everyone.


Looks good, but a HEADACHE to operate
O.k., thus the illustration looks well and the frameworks looks well. Said that, this thing was not close impossible to set up and manual and siteangebot an assistance. The manual generally says, clogs it into your computer. That is it. My married man and I are Tech savvy savvy and we tail of a time with this had. Things do not explain it to you: The framework has only pairs MT of the area. I had to use a coded map of an old camera, in order to add memory. It is you only one illustration to show would like, to become you a coded map to need. For any reason although I dragged photos on to the frameworks of my computer, did not read the framework her not and held to explain to me "no photo". It recognized only photos, when I stored it to the coded map. The manual and the framework are completely user unfriendly; the enterprise icons are not self explanatory, and not obviously explains in the manual. We had out, as one represents it by attempt and disturbance works on: Keys operate and seeing, what happens. I worked only with him for a pair of hours and it was already once frozen. Since this is a gift for my peoples, I really hope that this is not an indication of things to come. Everything, which functions now mentioned, it and looks largely. Firm product. To use simply. Additive. It as gift for my anniversary wedding of parents gave to 35 and it loves it. I sorted all my pictures in photoshop for dissolution and the size of, those by the instructions was specified and it came from perfect. Much pleases.


Great display - lousy implementation
I became lively by the many glowing reports of this product, therefore I bought, who intend, to give it to my grandmother loaded with illustrations of their large more grandaughter. When it arrived here, I unpacked it, begun a 1 GB Sd map preloaded with pictures in the JPEG format of my PC (and before tested on a polaroidbilderrahmen), and switched on him. I received an announcement saying that there were no photos on the external coded map. I examined the map and tried again - the same results. I designated Philips's support and we arrived at the point, where her in term goods to let me reset the unit and if that did not work, in order to send back her. At this point I decided to return the unit since it would not be usable for my large grandmother. I googled also around and found that I was not the only one with this expenditure - rather many users found that which I expected (a product, which reads and announcement JPEG photo directly of a supported coded map) am not, which supplies this unit. I cannot recommend this product to nobody, until they form the software, which runs on the framework more versatile talented and reliably.

Impressive...
This product was nicely packaged and very easy to setup out of the box. Plug it in and with the supplied USB cable was recognized right away by my PC without any additional software. Using a 1GB SD memory card I was up and running in no time. Most users will probably want to disable the default clock-over-photo display, as it hogs up a considerable part of the lower right-hand screen. The display and pixel quality in my opinion are VERY impressive, displaying in a 6x4 format and a 720x480 resolution. Sharp and bright, this frame displays photos just as one would expect from print quality. Menu navigation is acceptable although I didn't try any of the photo editing features choosing instead to edit on my computer. Larger file sizes take somewhat longer than the default slideshow time but never jerky and always sharp. Great product I'm happy.


Nice picture, odd clock function
While I won't extol the virtues of the quality of the picture or the clarity of the controls and menuing, there were two disconcerting issues I had with this item.

While I understood that the display would only run on the AC adapter, I guess I presumed that there was some sort of battery backup for the time and date and other internal settings. In fact, there isn't - the device needs to be reset everytime the device loses power.

While even that wasn't a deal breaker in itself, I found the device's clock function only supported a 24 hour clock. That seemed an unnecessary and cumbersome design choice. I chose to return the product.


Very pleased
I am very pleased with this individual part (although I agree in the fact that of Amazon something from its technical information for accuracy must examine). I bought this individual part as weihnachtsgeschenk for my grandparents, to thus use must be simple. I opened it, in order to on set some family photos before sending it them, and it was literally plug and play. They clog the alternating current adapter into the wall. They clog the UBS cable into the computer. Wait to be recognized it, and then you delete the demo photos and drag you and let you your own photos into the framework photo booklet fall. Separate the UBS cord and success play. Beautifully. Plus the dissolution on this individual part much much better than a quantity there are alternatives out. The illustrations show free above and beautiful. The framework is also very nice looking. It took me some minutes, as one represents out, how one does not have the master clock, which was indicated during photo the Slideshow, but even that was not too hard. I consider buying another than gift for somebody else and one for possibly even me.


Do NOT Purchase if you use an Apple Computer--Caused brand new iMac to Lock-up Completely
I bought this digital framework, which was given the positive reports for other Philips's frameworks, and it was a nightmare of the beginning. The instructions are bad, the worse software. The framework and the software are not compatible with the Apple leopard system and it completely the computer froze and the repeated days caused, retarded, if it received a new computer. There is no mention to incompatibility or Software-der of problems in the bad instructions (or in the CD-ROM) and no technical support to speak of. A complete waste of $120 for this product and hours of the time my Apple received repairs. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT if you to possess a Apple.


Nice product, bad info from Amazon
This product is nice, but be careful. In the "See more technical details" section, Amazon says that it has a rechargeable battery. It does not! You even have to reset the clock and some other settings when you unplug the unit.

Also, on some of the other Phillips frames (that do have a battery), Amazon is advertising 8 hours on the battery. Totally untrue; if you check the Phillips Web site, it's 0.8 hours.


Really easy to use
This product was really simple to use. I had it from the box, set up and loaded with illustrations within 10 minutes. It was really plug and play. The illustration quality is good and the functions and the menus is very intuitive. Receiving by the detailed menus was a little more trickier (the master clock changing adjusted up), but over all, I think that this is a marvelous product.


Nice digital frame
Nice quality photos, easy to set up. I have it set to a slide show. Everyone loves looking through all the photos changing every few seconds. It's very easy to set up to transfer photos from the computer, or you can just insert your memory stick from the digital camera. I have it set on a timer to go on early in the morning and turn itself off at night.
The only thing I noticed, for some reason, every few weeks it starts flickering during the day and the screen goes gray. I just have to reset it, and then it works fine.


You Get What You Pay For
My goal was original of buying a more inexpensive digital framework. I became seen in a high end of electronics memory. For as I began to investigate, owing to those, which their wrote reports, discovered that I, you received, which you paid. The more inexpensive framework had a number of problems with reliability and enterprise. The good reports had crosshead throughout. The resolution of this frame allows much better pictures than the bargain crap out there. I used picassa to preload a memory card with properly cropped pictures. The internal battery means you can disconnect it from the wall and carry it to people. That was a HUGE difference to me. A friend of mine bought a frame with similar resolution but it lacked the battery. If you plan on putting it in an office or something like that you don't need the battery but in a household, it's a huge difference. The only reason i'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I haven't used any other frame and maybe there's one out there that will make you some coffee while showing you the picture

gorgeous, user-friendly
This gave as gift father day. Betaeubte. the illustration clarity and the brightness were better, than I expected and the price such was a theft. Very simply to use (I used a profit 98 to also load over pics and winXP). I did not buy this version with the 3 to other frameworks... however the silver and black one add much and the free framework really look the best, while he increases the modernity of the equipment. Was also lucky to discover a sleeping function so that the bilderrahmen can store battery and sleep at night (to use differently even there a night light could do it, since it is rather bright -).

This frame is top quality!! I have purchased several other digital photo frames but the picture quality was not nearly as good as this. The resolution is perfect. I resized all my photos to the highest resolution that this frame supported and they look great!!!
Don't be fooled into buying cheaper digital frames unless you just like to look at blocked pictures.

The reports were correct: this has very good illustration quality and is simple to set up. It is worth the money to receive to a good quality of the digital framework like these. Do not go for the framework $50 at the whale commercial centre (that is, which I regarded first). I bought it as an anniversary, which is present for my married man and it loaded with illustrations from our wedding (which I had to make a blueprint inside, there we the days ago of the digital cameras was above connected). I set also me into some illustrations of our Hawaii holidays and domestic animals. The internal memory even holds a quantity of illustrations, but, if you use a memory stick, you can set a very large number of illustrations on it. This framework is simple to use and the illustrations looks fantastisch! I received many radix complements on him and had it only for one approximately month. I recommend this framework in high of degrees.


nice frame, but buggy software
The frame looks lovely, but when I loaded the software on my Windows XP machine, it couldn't find any of the photos on my computer; the directory remained stuck at the root drive C:/, and wouldn't let me enter a path for the My Pictures folder. I had to buy an extra Compact Flash card and write the files directly to it, and pop the flash card into the frame.


great picture, easy to use, smaller than expected
I like this, however when they said the frame was 6 and a half inches I assumed the picture was....wrong! the picture itself is only 3 and a half by 5 and a half.


Great frame with only a few drawbacks
This small bilderrahmen is really large; it has a very good dissolution and was worth the money probably. Objections of a pair,: 1. The menus can be hard steer and are not intuitive at all. They take some, which keeps used for the people too, particularly, which are not comfortable with computers. 2. The framework lacks the ability to write illustration documents on coded maps thus, if you buy a coded map for the exclusive purpose of the framework, must you the illustrations on it set another reader using. They can receive at office maximum or staples (or Amazon...) for less than $20, therefore it is not a large agreement. 3. If you already turn the framework with a map in it, them begin to copy the illustrations on the map on the internal memory. This is really pain, but not meaning.


Stop Searching for a digital picture frame; buy this one
I have tried several digital picture frames and have returned them due to poor picture quality. You will not be disappointed with this one. It looks like it has gone up a bit in price but it is worth the money! It is easy to use, I never even read the instructions and I didn't have to adjust the picture quality.


Great quality product, pay the extra $
My husband loved this product when he got it. Two things he complained about were that he wished it had a remote and that it were battery operated so we could send one to his father overseas.

We then thought to get one for my dad for Father's day. We bought another brand (sorry, I don't remember it) from Staples at a much cheaper price. I started to get concerned I overpaid. It has a remote, but the image quality was not so great.

My husband then realized he got a high quality product--though more $$ it was worth it. With the exception of having to plug it in I still love it.



Picture Perfect
I bought this as a gift for my wife on Mother's Day. The setup was easy and the pictures looked great. My wife took it to work and when someone noticed she had a new frame (and they didn't actually know it was digital) they said "that is most clear picture I have ever seen!"


Great Frame, a "Mom Pleaser"!
There are so many reviews for this product, I'll be brief. My wife Loved it! I wasn't sure she would care for a piece of "technology" but this case getting all of those digital pictures somewhere where she can see them all the time is great.

My only complaint is that the way the memory card interface is utilized is a bit weird and non-intuitive, but otherwise the device works as advertised. I have not used the provided PC software and simply accessed the device directly through USB.

Excellent quality and features
I bought this for my married man, so that its first father day holds on its desk at the work. He loves it. Digital Picture Frame
Works very well. I have added a 500MB SD card and so can show a lot of images.
I would have given it 5 stars but for its price and the relatively small SD card it comes with. I see they have some cheaper competition now but I don't know if the image quality is as good.

The instructions were designed by someone to make the page look "cool" rather than be most helpful. It took longer than it should to figure out the controls. Easy once you understand them. I don't know why manufacturers don't give the product to someone unfamiliar with it and see what problems they have with it.

All said & done, this is an excellent way to show your images and sure beats a static print. Because they are lit, the images look more like slides. I wouldn't go any smaller than this size.


Philips 6.5 Digital Picure Frame
Great product. The picture is very clear. Very easy to load pictures using an SD card but the instructions to load pictures from your PC are confusing and I still haven't figured that out. Love the fact that you can change out the frames. I am interested in purchasing a larger frame as well.


Great Gift for Mother's day
I shopped around on the internet a good deal before settling on this one. Great picture quality, intuitive use, and easy set up. I haven't even loaded the software onto my PC. I take tons of pics on my phone and a small very good quality digital camera. I just pulled the card out of my camera and stuck it in the picture frame and presto, there they were, easy as pie. It is true the frame won't let you select portraint or landscape for each individual picture before display. But I can do that on my PC and my camera so next time I update the pics on it I'll do that.
Momma and I are very happy with this purchase. I would have given 5 stars if you could individually select portrait or landscape for each pic in the frame load and skip the PC entirely.


Nice picture, setup is more involved than expected
Good product, nice picture, attractive look, especially with choice of frame color. Only wish is the setup, controls and instructions were more user-friendly. This frame was not overly difficult to setup, but it did require of me some undivided attention and trial-and-error during the process (and I'm a super-user when it comes to technology). Gave it 4 stars because the quality of product outweighs the ease of setup concern.


Good quality viewer
This framework shows the illustrations very friendly - freely on, clearly, multicolored. The framework is simply attractive, unobtrusive, and. It reads a Sd map without a towing bracket. Memory use was confusing, because the framework seems the Sd map to its own memory downloaden to wish, instead of read the straight map. Otherwise it seems to be, the projector of the choice.

Plug and Play product. Very simple to operate. Excellent choice for my grandmother. It would start and stop every day at specific hours so she does not even need to switch it off or on every day.

A well formed product, which settles the work. The battery life is less than expected, but we leave normally this somehow attached. Clear and multicolored pressures, some elections, numerous sharp coded map kinds accepted. Everything, which I expected.

If you care about quality ...
I have tried the pandigital 8" and CTA 15" digital frames in addition to the Phillips frame - in my opinion, in terms of quality the Phillips digital frame blows the others away. The quality of the phillips frame was evident even before I turned it on. It is built solid and the frame arm is sturdy stainless steel. The others were plastic and felt cheep. Furthermore, the pandigital frame arm failed to stay in place and resulted in the frame needing to be secured by another means.

In my opinion, in terms of image quality the Phillips frame is far superior to either the Pandigital or the CTA frames. The other frames rendered images that just could not match the contrast and sharpness of the Phillips frame. The Phillips image was more like looking a real photographic print. The other two frames were more like looking at a photograph in a newspaper.

It is true that the Pandigital 8" and CTA 15" digital frames both have features that the Phillips does not such as movie playing and remote controls. However, the remotes had very poor range, like 4-5 feet and I could not get even simple movies to play on either frame. Simply put, after trying the Phillips frame I felt like I was being "ripped-off" and cheated by the other two manufacturers.

In conclusion, if picture quality is important to you this frame is an excellent choice!


Needs remote control
My Mamma is very lucky with the digital bilderrahmen. There are times, when they use him as illustration projector and arrange the automatic in sequence the illustrations to stop would like. I think that the frameworks, which permit with a direct transmission this kind to the control much better come as these with the keys on the back. It (80 years old!) the key controls does not understand very well any.

I did all the research and chose this frame, and to be honest, no complaints, great resolution, simple to use, the timer is great... I would totally recommend it.


Even Better Than Expected
I am enjoying this picture frame very much. It performs as advertised and recommended by these reviews. The main reason I bought this model is for the rechargeable battery feature; very few if any others have a battery. I didn't want to be totally dependent on availability of an electrical outlet.

The picture quality is very good and better than I had expected. Don't forget to lock the stand in place, else it falls right off. Still learning my way through the associated software (Philips Photo Manager), but seems easier to just use normal Windows file transfers. Nicely, Windows treats the picture frame as just another connected drive. [...] Amazon's price was about [...] lower than what I saw in a major electronics store. Good product!


Philips frame
I bought for me and love it. Straight second bought and in third place for gifts for family memebers. To use simply and large way to enjoy those illustrations which leave you differently on a disk or in a box. The quality is large.

Great Quality Pictures, Very Easy to Use
Digitally bilderrahmen must have been one of the hottest weihnachtsgeschenke in 2006, since I could not find nowhere and a IOU had to give. Straight one buying and the Philips's frameworks, was it received worth the waiting period probably!


Excellent Display
I received straight this as birthday gift and in the morning, which is very lucky with the announcement. I had seen some digitally photo frameworks during black Friday sales, but all had very bad announcements with pictures, which looked pixelated much. This looks largely. The dissolution 720x480 is very usable, and the 6.5"diagonale size is for one desktop framework perfectly, although it is a small point, if you wanted to hang it on the wall. There are two ranges for improvement. Is first in the Macunterstuetzung. I am a Macbenutzer, and during it on the desk as USB drive permitting represents above that illustrations become, to him to be dragged and dropped, it would be nice to see to something iPhoto integration. I would like to see a customized export plug-in specific, where I preselect simply photos or an album in iPhoto, and then it it automatically down to 720x480 would classify and her on the internal file of the framework would copy. Great Product All Round!!!
I did my research before purchasing this particular frame and found a lot of praise for the Philips brand of digital frames. I've not been dissapointed AT ALL! It's REALLY easy to set up and the photo resolution is incredible. I actually bought a Kodak version originally, and returned it because it seemed low quality. The Philips is a major upgrade from the Kodak.


Awesome Ditigal Picture Frame
I am pleased with this product. I am really grateful all rezensenten of this and of other similar products. The picture on this unit is marvelous! I had no problems with him more whatsoever. An improvement, which I would like to see, is in the location, which helps the unit prop. above. It would profit to more of accessories from the credit one to the bilderrahmen, so that, if you waive the framework, the location with it comes. This is not kind main expenditure and you so long can, it functions, waives you fairly the frameworks and the location at the same time. I would recommend this product for the price IN HIGH ONE of DEGREES.


Very Happy
I bought this frame for my office after I had given the wooden model frame to my wife for Christmas. Both are really nice and easy to use. I like the ability to have the frame turn itself on and off at a predetermined times. Not only does it save power, but it also is a great reminder that I have spent enough time at the office and it is now time to go home! The picture is bright and the OS/Interface is not that hard to use once you are used to it. About a 10 minute learning curve. We have had no problems and give this frame an unqualified recommendation. The only thing I could possibly be unhappy about is Amazon's "dynamic" pricing policy. When I bought the frame for my wife it was $150 with free shipping in December, my frame was $190 plus shipping in January and as I write this it is back at $150 with free shipping.

I do not think that it look better out, higher Res or brighter announcements give there. It gives more inexpensive, but you receive, which you are for these the best quality pay. However the software and the interface are not perfect. Great VALUE!!!!
I purchased this frame as a Valentine's gift after doing a lot of research online. I am very satisfied with the overall quality and appearance. The internal memory is great and easy to fill using the suplied USB cable. Also the ability to use the SD card right from our camera was a plus.

The only con I have on the frame is the instructions included. I was a little disappointed in the depth of the included instruction sheet, but the ease of use overcame the lacking instructions.

I would buy this product again without a second thought.


Money Well Spent
Looked at several options in purchasing a digital frame for my parents who are not technically savy. This unit is perfect. While the price seems to fluctuate, it usually ends up around $180 when all is said and done. It is money well spent as evidenced by the postive reviews herein.

Images are consistently clear. I have loaded digital images of my son dating back 10 years now and they all show well (can still appreciate the digital image advancement over these 10 yrs though). Quite easy to load pics into a memory card directly through Windows Explorer, plug card in frame and instant slide show. Great for my non-techical parents as I'll load up another memory card after a while and swap them out. Timer, display and slideshow settings make the unit quite flexible.

The design and manufacture quality seems high - nice feel to the navigation buttons and frame facing. Packaging is solid and the interface is very workable once you settle into it - about 5 - 10 minutes to get comfortable.

Highly recommended. I want one for my family now . . .


Frame of the Future
This was durable, to the Weihnachtszeit to find (until I regarded on-line Amazon, is). After I had decided on the characteristics the fact that I wished and had repeated some different products, I decided on the Philips's digitally bilderrahmen. I could not be luckier. Good looking picture frame
As other one, which is said, is the quality largely. Navigation is bad not, could be better Design in handling very large number of the photos. Possibly in place of this key with 2 arrows, they know a clicking wheel to go to of one fast fast which are to others pic, or another side instead of to have. The quality, which is intelligent, is largely, well established and the announcement is rather nice. Desire supported it playback mp3 with Slideshow, (most other price of the frameworks half of this already) and the automobile, which copies from the coded maps, if you switch the framework energy on, if you let the map already begin, are annoying. I received the straight product today. I am to be copied with the image quality and the fact much pleased that it is very simple to bring the pictures from the internal file or deleted, which are appx 11MB. It is like moving documents of one booklet/of drive to others, since it uses USB gate. To disturb no necessity those to attach software to all. If you have flash/SD or compact map, as soon as you insert the map into the slot; the framework plays automatically dia. demonstration! I think that this would be a very perfect gift for my parents. Great resolution!
My primary interests to downloaden during, a digital bilderrahmen to buy 1) dissolution was and 2) user friendliness (there the user not in was to be most technical saavy to the new illustrations). This framework settles a large work of both! The dissolution is large! None pixelation. The menu is quite simple to use and I loves the characteristic of the in of the situation being LV to attach a compact sharp map. I use MT simply 16 map and again determine the photos the size, in order to be the dissolution, less by the framework, no more No. am supported. I can fit over 100 photos on MT 16 map!! The replaceable framework is OKAY, but I am not a fan of the free edge of glass on the framework. Entirely I will please, with my acquisition however look really forward at the prices of the digital frameworks, which come down!


Nice Screen
I bought this for my Mamma like a gift as well as a 512MB Sd map fully the illustrations. It is not very tech bent, but it estimates, which it. I adjust it straight to Slideshow and program it then, over on and to turn off daily. She loves the colors and dissolution of the screen. Their alot the good notes received from their friends. It has better, for, how much these thing costs, hectar, hectar. It is not definitely the most inexpensive framework, but according to my opinion the best looking digital framework screen of all, which I regarded.

If you're in the market, don't even pause. At the time of this review, this is by far the best digital frame on the market. I had made the mistake of purchasing a lesser known brand and it was a nightmare. The Phillips on the other hand is simple to set up and use right out of the box, provides crisp photo quality, and makes allowances for both on-board memory or the use of 2 different types of cards.


Fantastic gift for workaholics...
I spend a significant amount of my time sitting at my desk at work. My in-laws and my wife got together to give me this digital photo frame for Christmas. At first, I wasn't so sure I'd care about it, but now... it's the best gift I've ever received. I get to look at my infant son all day long, my co-workers are always oohing and aahing about him and about this frame, and now several of them want one (frame, not son) as well. The controls are a bit clunky and not terribly intuitive, but the on-screen display _does_ show you an icon for each button, so if you pay close attention it's possible to navigate the menus to get the frame to do what you want. Windows XP just recognized the device immediately and I copied images to it like it was a flash drive, because... that's what it is!

Anyway, bottom line... this was the best Christmas present possible for me. I hope the person you get this frame for will be as happy.


Philips 6.5-Inch Digital Picture Frame
I have been EXTREMELY pleased with my digital picture frame. The pictures are crisp, and people at work rave about it. It gives me so much pleasure at work while I'm away from my family. To setup it up I used a spare CF memory card and my photo album program to export the pictures. I chose a medium resolution to reduce the size of the pictures. I highly recommend this frame.

Snaps delivery. Straight one from the box was fantastisch this individual part. Very simply to use, we let illustrations load within 10 minutes and veiwing a Slideshow on the free superscreen. Large product, I became def acquisition of others.


Terrific picture quality but poor service
This is a second review. Adding to the first, the frame failed after less than one month of use. It was returned to Philips for replacement. Be aware that once they receive the frame it will be 2-3 weeks before a new one is shipped. To me this is very poor customer relations and disuades me from purchasing future Philips products.

A good gift.
I bought this product as gift for my nut/mother. It is nice and free and, no dead pixels bright. There is a multiplicity of the elections for announcement to time, transitions and a good quantity of file. I will please with the product. The transition software actual a little clunky, but everyone with computer experience should not have problems with it. It looks well and is quite a discussion material.

I am examining price the different colors and sizes of the Philips's digital framework over the last weeks, December 06 - January. 07 been. During this short time period I saw the price of these individual parts to change drastically. When I examined first the price of one this framework, he was appropriate $160. Then, while I tried to buy him I received an error message, and as I the side loaded, the price $20 again had ascended. I decided not to buy it after new years I the individual part again regarded and were $200 quite! Now I see the fact that it is approximately $20 more inexpensive really formed but the radical fluctuations in the price surplus a short time me question whether I receive really quite much at any given time on this web site. I bought finally that to 8.5"Milch the Philips' frameworks for $210, which were at the untereren end of the price distances, those, I was seen, but not the lowest for size/color framework. The first product, which I received, was defective (result from a software disturbance), therefore did to Amazon.com fast an exchange for me. I particularly gave eight, if that high shop of the illustrations with the second framework regarding, which does not work on system and it to overwhelm large! Like last rezensenten, the software is not thus largely however the fantastischen product work said. My only objection with the actual individual part is that I mean on a 4ft high buecherregal have and it usually from the couch regard. Excelent product
This product was great!!, Very easy to use and stylish. My mother, Who is not extremely computer literate (she can write email... and surf the web, that's about it) had a very easy time uploading her digital photos and sharing them with people. The interface is slightly clumsy and difficult to use, however it is only used when ever you load/delete photos.... a minor thing over all. It may frustrate experienced users who seek all the bells and whistles... It does make a great gift though, the picture quality is no different than if you where viewing them on your computer and it saves a ton of time printing photos.


Really Good Frame!
I bought this individual part which not really knowing to expect up to illustration quality. I slope to be considerable picky but the reports were good for this framework, therefore I preceded and bought him. Fair saying that I was not disappointed, leaves but extremely fallen also, how my digital photos looked! The screen is very bright and the illustrations is razor-sharp. It is a not large screen, but perfect size for a desk. I like also the fact that the framework has its own internal memory. Beside the illustration quality however, gives it some things, which should know customers before the purchase. They must hold in the understanding that these things are probably expenditures, which find you with each digital framework. First all must again be determined its photos the size, in order to fit the screen mass. If none is done resizing/cropping, terminate above with black staffs around the illustration. A large expenditure, but it really does not last some time to determine or harvest the pictures again the size, therefore you do not solve the picture sections, which wish you. If you have photoshop or other similar software, this should not be an expenditure. However if you cannot like, you not the fact that your illustrations do not fill the entire screen above. They to be able would like to again determine also the pictures (not grain) the size, so that memory on the internal the drive or drive assembly does not waste. There is no point, if one has a large illustration (lots pixels) set into the memory of the framework, since the dissolution of the framework is more limited. Another expenditure is that the framework does not have broad view an angle. Philips 6.5-Inch Digital Picture Frame
This has been an excellent purchase. Prior to getting this product, I had a subscription service for two years. I wanted instead to have the capacity to load a lot of pictures and change them at will. The SD memory card interface makes that easy. The screen resolution, brightness and clarity is also an improvement over the prior frame & service.

The timer allows us to have the picture frame turn on and shut off at preset times or with the power switch you can turn on and off at will. The time delay between pictures is easily modified to suit your needs or you can manually scroll through your picture show forwards & backwards at your own pace.


Best in class!
After a lot of research, bought this for my parents for Christmas. This frame is so superior to the competitors on the market! Picture quality is amazing, it's easy to use, and enormously compatible with everything.

My only complaint is the enclosed software...it's primitive and buggy. But, it's also unneccessary. Just plug it into your PC and treat it like a flash drive. Or stick in one of the many different memory stick formats it accepts.

I am a dad of the stay at home and bought this for my wife for Christmas. The first day took it it to the work, loved to everyone it and held to spaehen into their office in order to see the new illustration. It has a very attractive view regarding the framework. The illustration is bright and beautiful. The menus are to be steered simply with the keys on the back. They set graphic illustrations on the menu screen into appropriate position to the keys on the back. To use established in the software, around the illustrations to see can point confusing be. I have to work out, as one receives to explain the dia. demonstration, in order away from the central map to. It would like to always copy the illustrations too on board the memory. Unfortunately on board the memory can approximately 50 illustrations only hold, which is not enough for the average nut/mother of 3 children. Entirely, we love this framework. I think, while we receive with him failiar, we understand better, how one uses him. And you do not worry yourselves, it have not the large Philiips trade mark on him that you see into the illustrations.


Great Christmas Gift
I got this frame for my wife for Christmas. She loves being able to put up to 70 pictures on the frame for viewing. I would have given 5 stars expect for a few things:
1. The menu system takes a lot of getting used to. It's not always clear which button needs to be pressed depending on what your doing.
2. Vertical pictures do not always display correctly in the frame when using it horizontally. We tried the rotate picture option, but the results were inconstitent. After fighting with it for a while she just deleted the vertical pictures.
3. It's unclear how long you can run the frame on battery. It would be nice to have some indicator as to how long you have left. This is minor because we normally have it plugged in, but I thought I'd mention it.



Nice once you got it set up
I bought this photo frameworks for my father, who is 85yo and technologically illiterate. I provide it for him on (there is no way, to which someone, which is not comfortable with techy material, could do this in a way a within the prescribed period possibly -, which probably is, but why disturbance). I like really that she has a timer function: I am moveable it on each morning and adjusted him to turn off in order to show all photos on the sharp map after the coincidence one until twice during the daily and at night. I can set up a new sharp map for him and keep to snail post office he the map, which he can page out for the present and he new photos on the old schedule simple. Very skillfully. Good color!


Excellent photo quality compared to other Digital Photo Frames I tested
Philips has done a very good job with displaying high quality photos with this frame.
I would have given the product a 5 but the directions and controls in the back of the frame were a little confusing at first.
I bought this as a gift for my Mother who is 78 yrs old. She really enjoys it. She says it is definately better than a film photo album...much easier to show off your photos.

I would definately recommend this product to others. My wife and I are looking at purchasing s Philips 8x10 frame for ourselves.


Great machine, Terrible software
I researched many digital photo frames, compared features, quality, value for the cost etc. This machine is very well designed and built. The photo display is superb. The internal memory holds 67 JPEG photos. You can also use a memory unit to hold many more photos which can be displayed in sequence or randomly. The only serious complaint is the poor software and directions loaded on a CD which ships with the machine. It is nearly impossible to upload stored photos from your computer drives onto the machine. If the photo is stored on a CD or in your computer hard drive, it requires resizing the photo to megapixels which fit the photo frame( a real nuisance). However, it is extremely easy to upload pictures from a memory unit to the machine. It automatically resizes the photo as long as it was a JPEG shot. Finally, for this much money, it should offer a remote rather than searching for a very tiny switch on the back of the machine to turn it on. Perhaps the larger Philips unit corrects these problem areas. I gave this machine to a senior citizen and loaded it with family photos, candid shots etc. It brought her such joy that she cried when she viewed it. The quality of the photo display is the best I have seen. It is the small stuff which will bug you.

We got this frame for ourselves and then made sure each member of the immediate family had one, too! It's a wonderful way to view (review) photos -- put it on "slideshow" and glance over from time to time for a fresh photo. Great image clarity and ease of use.

Nice announcement. All the more inexpensive are tormented through very managing "screen door" effect. Illustration size is comparable with standard photos 4x3. For optimal announcement I to be recommended, 2 frameworks, to use one vertically loaded with the other one with horizonally existed illustrations.

Bought one two of these for Christmas for parents. To set up, and use was very simple. The screen is excellent. Very nice building quality. It feels very strong. Inserted memory is A plus. The only grasp, which I have, is that, in thumbnail the mode, which could be turned thumbnails to a landscape determining position. Once in the Slideshowmodus, shows pics in the correct determining position, then not confused by the turned thumbnail. Recomended in high of degrees.

Has a great image that is bright and very clear. Compared to others I have seen this seems to be one of the best.


Everything I expected!
The resolution of the pictures is excellent for the size of the frame. The best I found for this type of item. I was able to load 71 pictures onto the built-in memory, more than I expected! I love the ability to remove the frame from the cord and continue to view with the rechargable battery. My mother, over 80, is the recipient of the frame and is able to use the controls easily. Now she can view her grandchildren through the years, as she no longer travels. The only problem is that the CD and online software are not designed for Macs. I cannot use the USB cord to download and instead use the smart media card from the camera.

Wonderful Christmas gift. Gave this to my father and he loved it. With my memory card, he was able to view over 200 pictures. The stand that holds up the picture frame is quite heavy. No need to worry that the frame will fall down.

- MENUING system on the frame is easy. Allows to include or not, pics already desired in the memory. You can set to pics to flash randomly, or in order, can have the frame dim at set times [say at night] or brighten during sun shinning on it.

Great Product
I bought this for my husband for Xmas. I originally bought one from a dept store but was not happy with the quality plus I couldn't download the photos from my PC. I went onto Amazon and read the reviews on all of their digital photo frames and made my decision based on customer feedback. One of them said.......just buy the Phillips........that's what I did and have not regreted it. I read the instructions, loaded the software and downloaded all the photos within an hour. It was very simple. After downloading everything I repackaged the frame and wrapped it up and it was all ready for viewing on Christmas day. My husband loves it, he has it in his office at work and several co workers have been so impressed with it that they are purchasing the same product.



Crisp, bright pictures - Easy to use
I bought this Christmas to the Philips's digitally bilderrahmen for my wife. She loves it. It already got over two sets of the different photos. It was particularly nice to take the photos which we indicate fair taking to the tree and gift opening and them then to leave all week on the framework had. Now we have illustrations of the party of the new yearly, we too went. Large success with everyone. The pictures do not see a problem. They are brightly, sharp and simple to see from all angles to. Field can be programmed, around to go free area after certain hours of the night.


Bad idea
The unit only worked 5 minutes before the screen froze. All attempts to re-start, re-set and software upgrades were useless. Refund process with Amazon started. Very disappointing as this was a Christmas gift for my wife.


Glad I bought it!
These Amazon reviews were very helpful in selecting among all of the digital picture frames available. This frame is excellent. Following the tips from previous reviewers, I resized all the pics to 720x480 and they show up beautifully.
There are problems: the manual, on disk, is inadequate. There is alot of learning by experimentation to master all the features. When registering on Philips website I was told there is a software upgrade -- but you have to transfer it from your PC to one of the supported memory cards to get the upgrade into the frame -- you can use the USB cable to load photos but not the software! I don't have the ability to read or write photo cards on my computer, so I'm unable to upgrade the software.
In the manual you will find they talk about "past" when they mean "paste."

I told my wife I was giving two gifts: the photo display, and the effort to get it working. The later was the bigger gift. Now, after some hours of labor, the frame works well.


Stunning!
I really like this photo frame. I earlier purchased a much cheaper one at the day-after-thanksgiving sale. I was quiet dissapointing, so I returned it and spent the extra money on the philips. I am very glad I did.

Its bright and very sharp, which is the basics of what we want to display pictures yes? Sure the controls take a bit to get used to - but we are talking about a nice piece of electronics, I didnt buy it because it was a no-brainer. I deduct a half star for the controls, but I round it up to 5 ;-)


LOVE IT!!!!
My son just gave this item for Christmas. To make my life easier, as I am not that electronically savvy, he also gave me a gadget called SanDisk ImageMate 5 in 1 Reader. It has a slot for an SanDisk memory card. You place your memory card in the slot and then plug the reader into your USB port. I then copied any digital photos to the reader, popped out the memory card and put it into the frame, turned it on, and PRESTO, my pictures loaded and started a slideshow. I had to do nothing else. It was fantastic. I had read the quick start guide and found it a little confusing. But by doing it as described above, it could not have been easier. Well worth the additional cost. As for the frame itself...it has a beautiful picture. Crystal clear. I cannot wait to buy an even bigger memory card (I am using a 256mb and currently have over 100 pictures on it). One of my favorite gifts ever!!


Great Frame
I got this for my wife as a Christmas gift. Like some others have stated, the controls are a little confusing at 1st, but you will soon get it figured out. I placed nearly 100 pictures in the frame prior to Christmas morning (I thought about getting an external memory card, but 100 is a good # to start with).

The screen looks great. If someone didn't know it was a digital frame, they would probably think it was a back lit photo. We love the fact that you can set the frame to turn on and off when you would like.

You can't go wrong with this product. We like it so much, I just ordered one for my mom for her birthday!


An almost ideal execution.
Compared to the competition in this frame size, the Philips version is a bit on the pricey side. But if you're interested in the best you can get, this is it. Many of the frames in this size show a measly 480x234 resolution. The better ones will give you a 640x480 resolution which will match the 4:3 aspect ratio of consumer-grade point and shoot cameras. The nice part of the Philips frame (other than being brighter than the ones I've looked at) is that the 720x480 resolution matches the 3:2 aspect ratio of a standard 4x6 print and most higher-end digital cameras (i.e. most digital SLRs). If most of your digital photos are in a 4:3 aspect ratio, you may not like having the tops & bottoms cropped off or having to scale things so that they're shorter and fatter. But then if you printed snapshot size photos, you'd have that issue anyway. Also, if you're the "do it for me automatically" kind of person, you'll probably hate the bundled software. I don't use it and manually scale/crop the photos I want to display so that isn't an issue for me.

If you drop native, multi-megapixel JPEGs into the onboard memory, you'll only fit a handful if you're lucky. Do yourself a favor and pick up an extra SD or CF card. I got a 512MB SD card here on Amazon for just $11. With ~250 pictures on it so far, it takes up less than 50MB after scaling (even at the highest quality JPEG compression). This extrapolates to 2500-3000 images in rotation.

The control buttons aren't the most intuitive, that is until you figure out that the button functions change a little. If you follow the screen printed icons on the back, you'll just get confused. After you enter the menus, the actual button configuration is based on what's displayed on-screen. It has auto on/off and screen dimming functions based on time of day. That's nice, but I haven't had a chance to see them in action since I set it up so that it's running while I'm at my desk. It'd be nice if the picture duration was more customizable. The preset intervals don't work for me (I'd like to be able to specify something between 30 seconds and one minute).

Functionally, there are some minor caveats. The processor they settled on isn't quite up to the task. The transitions are a bit on the choppy side and some button presses take a split second to react. The color gamut of the LCD is also a bit lacking when compared to a laptop display, though it's still the best I've seen in a digital photo frame. If I look closely enough, I'd swear it was displaying 16-bit color because there is a very slight posterizing effect.


Great display once you get it working
Great christmas present for my parents once I got it setup. Took about an hour and I have more than trivial experience with other hardware and software designed for home use.

The frame almost looks like a real picture until it changes.

To agree with most other reviews, the software to upload pictures from a memory card is horrible. I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do. The best way I've found to upload was USB connection from my PC to the frame using the upload software. It was essentially drag and drop.

Loved the frames ability to automatically detect orientation and adjust and the fact that I could easily fit 100 images on it... when I reduced the resolution of the pictures.

Am considering buying one for myself and wall-mounting it. Once you get it setup, you'll love it.

Can't confirm, but several reviews running into problems uploading pictures from a Mac. Come on Philips. This is something that should have been designed for Apple users over PC users from the get-go. They're the first ones who'll buy this.


Great resolution; very pleased
The resolution and PQ is excellent. Good heft and quality build. Excellent feature set (time between pic changes in slideshow, on/off times, brightness settings with evening brightness separate, etc). I haven't tried a computer-to-frame transfer via USB; have used CF and SD cards to load them onto the frame, letting the frame take them from 10MP and 4MP down to its native resolution - they look great. The interface is very easy, but you do need to read the manual the first go-round). This frame is far superior to others I've had (like Digiframe) with great resolution, color depth, brightness, and viewing angle. Highly recommended.


disappointing
The illustration quality is rather good and the concept is large, but the coded map of my Sony camera did not fit the frameworks -- this was a bad surprise. Additionally you cannot turn photos (although it to say that you can), thus them all your photos either in a dia. demonstration vertical or horizontal to be to have. Thirdly the software is to bring to the photos from your PC to -- not user friendly simply miserably and in the characteristics lacking. I recommend you to influence away from the purchase of a framework like this, until they keep the loops prepared. I am very much disappointed.


GREAT digital photo frame, horrible software to use it
This framework is ehrfuerchtig. The illustration quality and the functions permitted particularly to make it to you let this buy a LARGE framework. My only objection is that the software, which comes with it -- Philips's photo manager -- TERRIBLE is. I am regarding a very technical person and can normally go without even, the instructions. However even after, the instructions reading and trying to receive the software, I can to work over correctly say that the photo manager is a worthless piece of software. I could not it even receive, in order to show me the booklets correctly on my non removable disk drive assembly. I became up the Uninstalling the software finished and instead of with the Microsoft XP PowerToy called ImageResizer, in order my photos at the right size to arrive (in the row) and then high-loaded the straight photos from my computer, as if the framework a USB drive were. If you did not understand, what I wrote straight, you expect, to spend at the telephone with Philips's customer service much time in order to receive all possible photos away from your computer on the frameworks. If it on a coded map (CompactFlash, SmartMedia, etc..) straight do not use plan, should you problems have. Everything, which -- now there I finally my wedding photo on the digital framework had -- said I love it.


NOT user friendly!
After I had spent way too much time to work my mother-in-law started I tried then, to set up won. It did not freeze during the illustration transmission and now functioned. The user manual is worthless. Now I most probably spend the remainder of my holiday with customs or fair return it. Nicely however royal pain looks!


Ruined Christmas
I purchased the Phillips Digital frame and out of the box it worked for about fifteen minutes. After that the screen went dark and could not be restarted. I checked out the support page online and followed all the tips including using the reset button. No Luck. I suppose I wouldn't have been as upset if this was an ordinary present for an ordinary occasion. But this was a Christmas present for my wife. In preparation for this I had gone through all of the photographs and slides I have taken throughout the thirty-five years of our marriage and digitized them so that she could see them at work. Now all of that work is wasted. It took months to do when my wife wasn't at home. (I suppose I'll transfer them to DVD's.)

Anyway I ran into another problem that caused some concern. The Philips online service states that you have to put the pictures in the top directory of the media card that you are using. But compact flash cards only allow a maximum of 128 files in that directory. I found out that this is due to a FAT (File Allocation Table) error. Evidently some media cards are formatted to work with both Macs and PC and since both of those platforms were originally DOS based many cards are formatted in MS-DOS (FAT or FAT16 on PC). The downside to this is that DOS has a limited file directory depth. An analogy might be appropriate here, as sent to me by Andrew G. of San DISK Technical support. Think of it this way. If you have a 2000 square foot home, you cannot fit 2000 square feet of merchandise in any single room, as your room is built in sections. The FAT file system, too is built in sections. Therefore in order to utilize the full capacity of a FAT formatted device, it is sometimes necessary to separate your information into directories. Bottom line, you need to check with your media card's producer before you start to transfer pictures onto your cars. If you are limited to FAT constrictions the most pictures you'll be able to put on the card will be 128.

Although the above FAT restricitions are not really a problem of the Philips unit, it would be nice if Philips would alert its potential buyers to the problem. Given the 128 file limitation buying a 1 gig card is simply a waste. You are much better off purchasing some small cards ie. 128 mg or less and creating a series of slideshows.


The Digital Frame comes of Age
Do you remember early days of the digital photography of the consumer? In 1998 people it asked whether printers could be like "material" pressures so well at all. Nobody asks this question more, because the answer became ", obviously" approximately 2002. This photoframes are now in the transition: this is so good * nearly *, as a pressure is, it a really high quality unit: quietly, heavily and pleasantly. The screen has the bright, closely space pixels, which are visible by broad view an angle. But the main thing is that it looks like an elegant desktop bilderrahmen, even close-up. It is not to the illustration changes, which carry out people and say them always "wows, I, which was an illustration". I loaded 300 illustrations, after I had again intended her for the pixels 720x480 on a memory stick the size, and they run flawlessly. This framework (the six tariff of one, not the eight Zoll)IST the money worth and is a calmly spoken joy on the desk, well getanes Philips. Expecting a wall size, you model for usual money....


Great little digital photo display
I'm very happy with the display. Thanks very much to the earlier reviewer who included the 3:2 and 4:3 aspect ratio facts and 720x480 pixel size information! This was helpful and probably facilitated my speed and ease in my having no problem in getting the unit up and going in a short time. I used pictures both from a Canon camera with its 3:2 ratio and pictures from an Olympus camera with its 4:3 ratio. The Canon pictures filled the frame perfectly. The display left small black border with the Olympus 4:3 ratio, not quite as perfect looking as the Canon pictures, but fine none the less.

I gathered a collection of pictures, then used Photoshop to batch re-size them to 720x480 (72dpi). I then copied that folder of pictures onto a CF card wich was plugged into a card reader. From there it was a simple matter of removing the card from the reader and plugging it into the display and powering on. I used two lower resolution levels when re-sizing. I couldn't tell any difference in display quality.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the display. The owner's manual did a good job of describing how to operate the unit. I turned the brightness down one notch. A good choice of options are available with the slide show mode. I didn't utilize the copy from card function, but it seemed very intuitive. It's simply faster for me to plug a card into the back of the display. The slot for a Kensington lock is a very nice feature. The included color frame borders are also nice touch.



Great Product; poor software
As noted in other reviews, the picture quality is great but using PC software is terrible. All the software does is let you copy pictures to the frame, but there are no editing features.
When plugged in, the frame shows up as a USB drive - it's easier to size and edit your pictures on the PC and then just drag them to the frame.


Frustrating and disappointing
This wanted to give my nut/mother for Christmas. I have two days trying to receive it over to work spent (and I are a computer geek). At the telephone with Philips three times - you installed uninstalled, again, microprogram list ascending - tried four different USB of gates - it fair level does not bring illustrations. It is a BEAUTIFUL individual part - terrific the dissolution, but I would not like to regard their Beispielpix - I would like my to regard: -) Philips sends - however are only worth. As soon as the loops are prepared, this is supposed a wonderful individual part, but for me and it EXPENSIVE is too late.


Huge Disappointment
- the NOT Mac, that compatibly is (however I tried to our PC in addition and was less than impressed) - that user friendly "automobile runs calm" program was hopelessly difficult - "snaps initial leader" closes, but no manual....that's on the disk also in, which is not the compatible Mac
