Reviews:

starsTime is Money
Seem like the love of people or hates this service. I guess that it all depends on the way in which the valuable article your time is. Is him so stupid to take your car with a lava-car (donot can you wages the next door of teenager do it?) The same thing here. We have people clean our houses, cars, make our laundry, taxes, etc. etc. because good number among us have better things to make and can allow it. I just read a review about a type with 5000 CDs. A professional company of treatment as Riptopia can do that in week. Let us see the next neighbor of door do that!

starsUseless Service
If you have an mp3-Player, the assumption is you know at least how to connect your player to a PC and use software like iTunes to load mp3 files to your device. Thus you already know more than necessary to also rip your CDs with easy-to-use, free-of-charge ripping software such as audiograbber, winamp etc.. My son does it everyday, he is 8! Ripping 1 CD takes him about 1 minute, so 100 CDs will take a bit over 1-1/2 hours. So why would anyone need Riptopia, pay $120 and go through the hassle of packaging & shiping off his/her CD collection, waiting for weeks just to receive back ROM-discs with mp3s encoded at unknown/random bitrates which in turn have to be transfered back from DVD to PC. What a useless service!

starsRip-off-topia!
I can see how attraction saving a certain hour would be... I to have more than 5.000 CD' S and to tear them took years... But $100 per 100 CD is a crime, considering the low transfers of Riptopia of binary rate to You could rent the kid in bottom of the street to do the same work for a quarter of the money. To save your $100 and spend-the with your local store independent of music for 8 additional CD' S! !

starsAmazing how one decision can make life so simple
Before I employed Riptopia, I tore 20 CD' S myself. That took approximately 4 minutes by CD. Let be clear, that was right for me time when it took the computer to change the music into figures after I struck the "tear-button" the player of media of the window. Thus, you must add the cumulative time which it takes to open each CD, put him in the computer the still going process, then you in the office rest obtain or go put at death ten minutes. Completely, two hours of wasted time. Only the problem, I HAVE really 200 CDs! ! Another thing, my wife has music that the player of media of Windows did not identify. Thus, it asked me to seize the CD title and the songs myself! Guess what, riptopia must have done that for me because it all returned perfect. Thus, considering that I can blow 100 males on a nice dinner with my wife outside downtown, I do not think that the expenditure 100 males to have to have it and me appreciate each one of our CD' S on a I-thimble or on our system of sound systems (to have us both) is expensive. Now it listens to its music in the room to be laid down and I listen to mine in the alive room. Oh... and I force add that it is much happier when it listens to its preferred songs. A husband can REALLY appreciate that! Now we listen to the music which we bought years ago, we throw parts with all our preferred music (and the CD' S is fastened far for always). Part of cocktail? Collection of jazz; Harms of play? ? collection of rock of the Eighties and the Nineties; Development? House-music; Kids of fight? ? Sound track of Lego-Bionicles! ! I say to you that the numerical music and Riptopia are one of the some combinations of technology which really make with the life more recreation for us. Oh... another thing, after reading the stating of review that the players at end high do not require for this, I would have gone to the cause of Web page of Riptopia my speakers and of the cables are very at end high. They offer a group of other formats and rate for higher prices. When I invited to request it from wbout, the type with the telephone said to me that they had a customer with 16.000 CD' S in the past. It was too enough picky!

starsEncoding data rate may be too low for discerning listeners
Like owner of a collection of 600 CD, I had examined services of tear in order to save time. Unfortunately, the basic technical details miss in the description of the product of Riptopia, namely the flow of coding. "up to 100 CDs mentioned on a DVD" that I conclude it is 192 kbit/s around. It can be enough when you play your music by a iPod or Sound systems, but with a device of high fidelity as Squeezebox which a loss of quality is audible with the enlightened ears compared with same CD coded in the format lossless (like FLAC or ALAC).

starsI was clueless
Sonos ZonePlayer ZP80 Add-On Player

My husband and I bought a Sonos and were so excited until we discovered how much time it took to get all 5oo of our CD's on it. I have no idea how to rip Cd's and really do not care to learn. We shipped them all to Riptopia and we get them back so quick. Now our parties have gone up a level thanks to all our music being digital. Definitely worth it.

starsFinally! A Great Idea
I have had my iPod now for a couple years and all my old CDs sitting in a drawer collecting dust. I tried Riptopia and now my collection is one! I forgot how much I loved Smash Mouth and Alanis Morssette; now I am singing my old favorites wherever I go. Riptopia seems like such a obvious idea and it worked very simply; I recommend this product to anyone who has more CDs then the time to upload.

starsBig time savings
I used the Riptopia service about 6 months ago. I really saved alot of time. It was taking me 15 minutes per CD to convert to digital. They did 300 CDs in about 7 days turn around. Thank goodness.

starsThis ain't no iTunes collection
I feel as I came late to the digital part of music, but when I do something I want to do it made goods iTunes no direction with me... I have more than 500 CDs and I do not buy them yet. The tear of them at the house was going to take weeks, and I was not happy with the quality of the metadata which I obtained when I made a couple of the tests on a certain older traditional substance. Thank a god for Riptopia... that the number of the revolutions is a thing but the key for me obtained such a back of music of high quality and with information and the drawing-model rights of album on top. All was organized and standardized thus I could easily find the substance. Running all by a system of Sound systems which I have Re-A found the music I forgotten I had. This service is not for the kids... I do not know any kid which has CDs... but for us older people with large collections, any time and a palate lit for Riptopia quality are the only manner of going.

starsIn the land of the blind....
... the one-eyed man is king. Riptopia has helped this technologically-blind, musically-progressive CD collector compile his 20 year, 400 album collection into something easy and accessible. Ipod's are a wonderful thing - especially for us boomers! Riptopia will help you re-live your life in music in no time.

starsRiptopia is PHENOMENAL!!!
I love Riptopia. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't utilize this service. I bought a new iPod and had Riptopia rip my entire CD collection (over 300 CDs) onto my new iPod. It was ripped, archived and back to me in no time. I've heard of people who buy an iPod and then end up listening to the same 5 discs because they don't have the time to rip their CDs - what a waste of an iPod purchase!

I liken it to the time I spent an entire weekend painting my first daughter's room. It took me two days, was a pain and didn't look all that great at the end of the weekend (per my wife's critique). The next time we had a boy and I had to change the room from pink to blue. This time I hired someone to paint the room for $150 bucks. It was done in no time, looked great and I was able to enjoy my entire weekend. The painter did what Riptopia does: a great job, quickly and effectively, allowing me to enjoy my life, not having to sit around ripping CD after CD into my iPod.

It's one of the best services money can buy.

stars$100 to rip your CD's? Ridiculous!!
The most basic media player can do this for you. Even if you have 100 CD's and that may take some time to complete, the $100 price tag is so not worth it. If you don't know how to convert your CD to mp3 format, try to learn it by asking someone or google it. It's really not that complicated at all. Spend your money on something else!

starsFast, accurate, friendly
Riptopia did a great job getting my cd collection put on my iPod. They were fast, the data was accurate, and they were easy to talk to when I had concerns. Even my rare and obscure classical cds came up organized and easy to find!
