Seinfeld - The Complete Series
Reviews:

starsJust go get it already!
So being the huge fan of Seinfeld that I am, this was simply a must buy. I never purchased an individual season as I knew that eventually a collectors one would arrive. Needless to say, this set is truly fantastic. For those who have allowed their frustration of not being able to purchase the book separately or having already purchased individual seasons influence their rating, don't be sour. Its not too difficult to sell your seasons and use the money for this item. For those of you who are trying to decide if this is worth the money, IT IS. The books, magnets, refrigerator, and of course all of the extra footage make this a must have for any fan of the greatest sitcom in television history. Five stars is simply not enough to describe it.

starsperfect for seinfeld fans
It has everything in it a Seinfeld fan would want. Totally met my expectations plus more. The coffee table book was a great addition and there are great bonus videos. Definitley a great gift.

starsAwesome
I just wanted to add my 5 personally hold the first role the review to countermand a part of that hold the first role of the reviews. The system of estimate on the Amazon east to evaluate the product, not to be evaluated, that you one hold the first role of the people. Nobody will boycott this unit because it is better and cheeper which buying each unit individually. If you bought each unit, sell them and buy this unit, the Amazon makes it very easy to sell your dvds. used Sony will not release the book one or the other because they want that you buy this unit. Its office plurality of pension and treatment and its called summers around during years. Do I have to mention Tiens the first role of the wars? They will continue to also make it because they know that that functions. You must know when to rent and know when to buy. This unit is impressive and I doubt truely of them upconvert of will to the blue ray, is so much now the hour to buy this unit!

starsUnbelievable...
I decided that I wanted to obtain this unit, thinks at least that. Come to find of the 4 to hold the first role the estimate for this whole of box. I was astonished, since I feel that it is of the 5 hold the first role of the series. I thought, perhaps the unit defective or not is made well or some thing, thus I read the reviews, to only discover differently of the 5 to hold the first role the average is tiny room in reason of the idiotic winers complaining on the subject to have bought the whole series for already or some thing. I am happy to thus see some others which noted this nonsense, I will add my two hundreds as well... If you buy all the series separately, I would think that you would evaluate these 4 or 5 holds the first role. he give one hold the first role because you feel in a way or of other that cheated idiotic and unjust. That does not have anything to make with an examination of this unit. Because of others specified, you pays your money, takes your choice to you. You obtained to observe the latter while they left. Are you sincerely astonished that the price is less maintaining for the whole series? You awake! Almost each DVD that I know of is expensive when it leaves (other than the sales). You see yourselves, in a company of the open market, when you sell something, fixed your price at the commercial value. While the request drops, you lower the price. I think that this is called the free company, and is the base of American marketing. I bought Tiens the first role of the wars when it left the first time, and now that it Re- is released as do it a whole of box, I give him one hold the first role because it is less than I paid? Not! This marks absoulutely no direction. There is no reason that this whole of box should not be less than 5 holds the first role, thus I had to add my 5 holds the first role to avoid these idiots. What a group of winers! Review the unit the nearest time, not your decision!

starsGreat gift!
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he just liked it! I am very happy with this unit. Each one should have it.

starsWhat a hoot!
Fun-knee stuff. It's very nice to have the whole run in one box. My eyes hurt...

starsSeinfeld
Hours and hours of the recreation, if your wife is not a ventilator of Seinfeld it could carry out to the offs divorse or of trade.

starsWorth the Wait!
Hey, it's Seinfeld; what's not to like? Brilliantly boxed set with wonderful extras that make having waited to get the complete series well worth it. Clearly deserves a spot on the finest coffee tables. Unfortunately for me, this was a Christmas gift for my son, so my turn next. . . Completely understand why those who built their collection as the seasons were individually released are a bit put off. Would serve Sony public relations well (and likely their pocket book too) to offer a series completion kit for their loyal customers so they can proudly display their collection in all its glory.

starsGiddy Up !
Along with M*A*S*H* Seinfeld surely ranks as one of the truly great comedy series ever. And now to have every fun filled episode together in one collection means you can enjoy this ground breaking show about nothing anytime you like ,Although it seems cable t.v has never let it go!
This collection is a s good as it gets ,You can choose to watch shows with introductions by the cast or commentary by Larry David and Jerry himself but I do find this distracting and prefer to go for the straight episodes. Every episode is cataloged and the coffee table book (not about cofee tables !)is a great bonus and along with the superb packaging makes it a must for fans. Gold! Jerry ,Gold!
Cheers,
Dave Smith Melbourne Australia

starsSEINFELD, The Complete Series on DVD with Book
My DVDs arrived reaal fast, prior to Christmas. They were wrapped in cardboard and plastic wrap for protection. I haven't found a bad DVD yet, and my son and I have been watching the series one after another and laughing all the way through the series! I'm happy I purchased the series thru Amazon.com; I've trusted them with a lot of my past purchases too, and never had a problem.

starsComedy writing at its finest
Seasons four and five are the peaks. Larry is the key to this show, and as good as Curb can get, George is a better Larry than Larry himself could ever be. There are probably 100 lines from Seinfeld that are instantly recognizable to millions...not that there's anything wrong with that.
I guess I've seen every episode of this show at least ten times. When my parents were dying and there was not a damn thing I could do about it, I watched my vhs copies over and over all night, every night, just to remind me that life was still worth laughing at. Sometimes I would get so sad I'd start crying and then something would happen on screen that was so classic that the tears would become tears of laughter as I thought of all the laughs we had as a family. That pretty much defines the power of art to me. For those moments I will always love everything about this show. It is the absurdity of life writ small.
The writing is so good, so tight, so funny! The real stars here are the writers, which is as it should be. At first I loved Kramer most, but as time went by I realized that it was all about George. Who hasn't been that egotistical and yet insecure at some point? Making all of the characters selfish and egocentric and yet lovable says it all about modern America. We are a consumerist nightmare that refuses to step back and see how it is destroying itself and the rest of the world, all in the name of...what?
Still, you gotta laugh at it while trying to live your own version of a healthy, sane life. That these four goofballs can never quite get it right and yet still laugh so much is always heartening. The consistency is also amazing. There really isn't one bad show, just a few weak ones out of 180. Pretty fine batting average.
This is perhaps the best tv series that will ever exist. Not that that will keep Shakespeare and Da Vinci up at night! But it has made many of my nights most pleasant indeed.

starsThe BEST-EVER gift I bought myself, and to all the whiners, quit complaining, sheesh!!
I mean, it has gotten old...OK then, where do I start?? I agree with the prior reviewer who compared Seinfeld to Monty Python...the show is brilliantly-written commentary on New York urban life (more than a bit Jewish, yes, but that only adds to the show's realness), and sublime, anarchic silliness. Each of the show's 180 episodes are timeless slices of minutae (what the show referred to as "nothing") which were relatable at the time of broadcast, can be relatable today and will be 20 years from now, guaranteed.

The show's 4 main characters: Jerry, George, Kramer and Elaine blended together perfectly, yet each was his/her own distinct person. I loved how each episode had different subplots that crashed together in unexpected ways at show's end that was both hilarious and satisfying. Each story was perfectly written and timeless that you can watch again and again without tiring of any...and there are 180 of these...pure gold, seriously. I don't want to get into each episode because, otherwise, this review would be a "coffee table book", if you get my drift.

Now, I, like, many others here, started buying all the different seasons...I had the FIRST boxset, of seasons 1-3 ("the giftset you won't re-give/re-wrap", I forgot the exact wording) with the replica of a script, deck of cool Seinfeld cards, and replicas of the diner's napkin dispenser and ketchup/mustard as salt shakers, all very cool, as well as Season 4 (sold by itself). The reason why I didn't go further (I almost did) was because I couldn't find the SECOND boxset of seasons 5 & 6 with the replica "Puffy Shirt" for a reasonable price, and I didn't want to buy them separately because of the "puffy shirt"...then I saw 7 & 8 come out separately, with no special box, then Season 9 was about to come out, so I inquired about the possibility of a complete series boxset, thinking, as the individual seasons were a bit pricey, it might not or would be too expensive...

Wahey!!! One did, it looked cool (based on early pics), but the price was like almost $300, so I waited for sales...lo and behold, BestBuy's version was on sale $169.99 (I missed the sale, couldn't afford it that first week), and that FRIDGE REPLICA BOX!!!! Wow, I couldn't resist, but it sold out everywhere. What had me concerned was, was it BestBuy's standard but special packaging (like, would they ALL be like that, forever???) or was it strictly limited edition, gone by the new year, 2008??? Plus, once they got copies in, they would all go, with the holidays here, now gone??? So, when I had the cash, and I saw a copy at a BestBuy, I would pounce...I saw one, and had the cash, so I did...one of the best decisions I ever made...I made a slight sacrifice and I am recovering OK.

Since I had Seasons 1-4 before, I am watching them over, as a refresher course before I hit seasons 5-9, which I had never seen in full before...all awesome...I love the Fridge box, it just looks cool, standing upright, a nice attention-grabber...but the magnets don't work on it...so I'm keeping them inside the "Coffee Table Book"...I love the book, full of cool trivia...the bonus disc was nice...cool for a 1-hour fun viewing.

All in all, just GREAT...tight, compact, space-saving, classy, worth the $179.99...I received a coupon a week after I bought this box, where I was able to get back the $22 I would have saved at the time...NICE!!!

One last thing, do what I did...sell your prior-watched seasons, and put the cash towards this box...that's what I did, and I kept the earlier extras, like the salt dispensers and deck of cards, so I have those too, NICE!!!

starsWorth the wait!
Every episode of Seinfeld. Well transferred. Good extras. Nice box set.

To the others angry about this set coming out AFTER they had purchased each season individually... tough luck, you should know better by now that studios do this ALL THE TIME. Next time hold out for an awesome box set like this. Not like Fox and TBS reruns couldn't have kept you occupied in the meantime.

starsFINALLY, THE COMPLETE SEINFELD
This is without question the definative Seinfeld collection. It has all the episodes, plus extras like an anthology book, cleaverly called the coffee table book: nice touch. I always loved this show, the cast was perfect and I thought the show got stronger and stronger as the seasons went on, unlike shows like Friends and Frasier that got worse and worse. I especially liked the episodes featuring George's parents and of course any appearance by Newman. I think my favorite episode was the one in which George acts like he's a fifties high school stud and at the end Mr. Costanza asks Elaine if she wants a peice of him..it is so classic Seinfeld...that and the episode of an arrogant George getting a hairpiece, which Elaine for some reason hates; uh, she always hated it when George was happy. Frankly, I cant imagine this show working with any other cast, it's such a uniquely odd show of vacuous, eccentric New Yorkers. I highly recommend this box set, its a must have for any fan of the series.

starsworth every penny!
this is a wonderful collection of the complete seinfeld collection.
anyone who loves seinfeld should get this (if they can afford it).
it would also be a wonderful gift to any seinfeld fan.

is it worth the $200 ?? i think so. not only do you get all
the episodes but you get a beautiful book, videos of interviews
with the seinfeld book, all contained within a beautifully designed
hardback black gift book box.

this is the best present i've given myself in a long time! :)

buy and enjoy!

btw: no, i am not getting royalties from this reivew! ;)

starsThe Ultimate Package
As anybody who was just introduced at Seinfeld recently, it was the ideal package for me, where each element of the exposure was collected upwards and packed up together in a convenient package. The book of coffee table of Seinfeld is a great accompaniment in DVDs.

starsGreat Compilation
MUST HAVE for any ventilator of Seinfeld and in value the label of prices $200. Great comment and scenes removed for almost each episode. Better of all... aucuns advertising films! You can observe 2 episodes in 40 minutes. Best compilation DVD than I saw.

stars9 Seasons about nothin'
The ultimate in TV comedy box sets. The coffee table book only enhances the "Seinfeldian" experience. This is a must.

starsAbsolute Seinfeld Gold
This product was amazing with all the special features that came along with the set, the full-length reunion was awesome and the coffee table book was cool. I love Seinfeld alot and if you are a fan this is for you, except I thought the Seinfeld coffee table book was going to be like the one Kramer invented that actually turned into a coffee table in the Puffy Shirt episode. If you are expecting a coffee-table DONT BUY IT, but everything else is flawless.

starsGreat Item
Seinfeld - The Complete Series

This is my sons favorite show on TV. He watches re-runs daily so I decided to get him the complete series........... and he LOVES IT!

starsWhat about those who bought all the edited seasons?
I bought all season 9 of Seinfeld and now SONY releases this edition! And those which bought any season when they released in the past? At least they could include a certain kind of good in the 9th season regulated to achieve this astonishing series with these box and delivers. Like ventilator and as a customer, I am very disappointed.

starsSell your old season boxes and get this--it's WORTH IT!
The packaging is very handsome indeed, but disc holders on the inside seem like they're on the cheap. The outer black material used definitely looks and feels expensive and lavish, nicely accented with gold ink. And the picture quality isn't always the greatest (especially on the pilot). Still, to have the complete season in one attractive space-saving box and a bonus hardbound book with bonus disc (an entertaining reunion w/cast and Larry David) in an inside back cover pocket is worth the money. To those who bought the seasons separately, I'd recommend you take a small loss on them and sell them and put the money toward this. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

Man, if The Simpsons ended and came up with a box set...I can hear the complaints coming...

stars9 Years of Living Haphazardly
This box set (and by the way the TV show behind it) deserves every star it can possibly get. Offering us the long view on "Seinfeld," from day one to day last, it allows us to see the scope of this greatest of all television shows, transmogrifying itself from Jerry-In-Red-Sweatpants at the beginning to Jerry-In-Lear-Jet at the end, like the old drawing of Darwin's "ape-caveman-upright man" progression.

And we see that the ape era wasn't so bad, after all; in fact, looked at as part of the show's evolution, the first two seasons, while the writers and actors were finding their voices, were the truest period of all for the show. Scrambling (sometimes raging) to find something, ANYthing to make a show about, Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld plumbed the best of their depths, offering a crash course in late-20th century survival of the un-fittest. Even at its 4th-season artistic zenith, the show would never be this real.

With the whole thing here in one place, we can even see that there are periods to this show as with any longterm work. The first period (Seasons 1-2) is the most grounded in reality; the second period (Seasons 3-5) is the most artistically rich, where the show has truly found its niche and explores it like a kid in a Toys R Us with an unlimited charge account; the third period (Seasons 6-7) is the wheels-are-off-the-wagon period, where anything goes as long as it's funny, no idea is too insane; the fourth and final period (Seasons 8-9) is just as anything-goes but it gets just a bit too manic at times, and you occasionally lose the suspension of disbelief you need to enjoy any work of fiction. Still, there is no "bad" season of this show, and no single episode is completely devoid of that brilliant "Seinfeld" wit that made this one of the most popular television shows of all time.

But scope is not all this set offers. It offers, simply, EVERYTHING. Confident that you have every episode at your fingertips, you can flip through the set for a show like you'd flip through the Bible for a quote (that's not going too far, is it?). Pick "The Red Dot," then pick "The Limo," then pick "The Puffy Shirt," then pick "The Finale." On and on it goes, until you've seen so many you forget which ones you've seen and you start again. It's all there. And all the extras from all the box sets, from the feature-length documentary on the creation of the show to the great "Inside Looks" and the (frankly kind of useless) commentaries.

New for this box set is a Seinfeld Coffee Table Book, which is kind of the trivia-rich "Notes About Nothing" segments rolled into a single volume. Also included is an hour-long special recorded in 2007 featuring the original four cast members and Larry David watching and commenting on various clips from the show's nine-year run. It's fun and interesting, but it probably won't be watched more than once or twice. The "Inside Looks" are better for tidbits and insight into the show's workings. Finally, the packaging simply couldn't be better: tight, durable, compact. As always, they've cared enough to think of everything.

I love this show, I can watch it again and again, and it bugs me every time I hear people (even Seinfeld and co. themselves) talking about the characters as unredeemable or even vaguely sociopathic. The characters in "Seinfeld" are not anything like that. I think this misinterpretation, which is widespread even among the show's fans, is the fault of the actors and producers themselves, who have famously said that "Seinfeld" is a "no-learning, no-hugging" show. They themselves sold the characters as unredeemable; but the fact is that the 4-way friendship portrayed in this show is the strongest friendship ever portrayed on television. To me, that's what makes "Seinfeld" so great. What that show is REALLY about is people living in a massive, overwhelming urban environment (which, in our society of computers and malls and digital cable is everyone, even those living in small towns) who create and maintain a small outpost of human closeness, of love, in the face of that industrial anonymity we all feel closing in every day. That's certainly why I react to it, and why I've watched it so often. Not just the dialogue and the unorthodox structure of the show, which is brilliant, and not just the dead-on satire of modern American culture, but the relationships. "Seinfeld" is deeper than it ever sold itself.

All in all the complete box set is everything you could ask for, assuming you already like "Seinfeld." If you don't, come on, you're not plunking down two hundred bucks for this thing anyway.

starsGreat DVD set for great TV show
Packing up Nice if you seek the compact design for every season. There is a sheet of episode which is included in the book of coffee table which enumerates all the episodes for every season, because the discs are by themselves. The book nice-fact of coffee table gives the good trivia and the facts about it each episode and does not have legs to transform into coffee table. There is a documentary good on the disc of season 9 about the way in which they came to agree on the end the exposure of Seinfeld after 9 years, when it was more popular than ever. Did you know? The dialogue at the beginning of the very first episode in season 1 with Jerry speaking about the button on the shirt of George is exact the same dialogue as the last scene in the final of series when they are in prison. Good manners to finish the series... talking about nothing!

starsSEINFELD GOES OUT WITH A BANG. AMAZING JOB!
I in the beginning bought of seasons 1-8 knowing that all along SONY would release the complete series with an additional disc of material of allowance and a certain fresh book or something. I was torn if I should be aspired by the large machine of money corporation Re-to buy the already bought products. However, after having bought the series and to have looked at it I must give the credit rating where the credit rating is due. SONY, Castle rock'n'roll, Jerry Seinfeld, that which composed the book of coffee Table and the whole provision of the box was placed really did one to hold to the top of work (no pun envisaged) they seem not to have saved any expenditure: The book, the box, and the cases of DVD are made in extremely nice leather-like the material which seems large and extremely professional. This very good work should be congratulated and not humiliated. We all knew that they were going to release a complete whole of box. Here with them to release it while season 9 thus I should not have bought that and then to buy this. It is a perfect manner to show with your support of an astonishing series... a way of living astonishing. Thank you Seinfeld for all the laughter. A MUST BUY!

starsNot that there's anything wrong with it...
What an amazing body of work... I think they did a pretty good job with this release, although the option to play the "Notes on Nothing" (really just line after line of green factoids splashed across the screen) feature didn't really add any eggs to an already nicely-filled basket. When all is said and done it's the genius of the actors and writers that shines through - as it should be! By the way... I bought my set at Best Buy for $169.95. It was, by far, the "best buy".

starsQuit complaining. This DVD set is awesome!
i had seasons 1-8 already. a couple of them i bought, but the others i asked for and received as gifts for christmas, birthdays, and even father's day. once i saw other shows releasing complete series sets, i assumed the same thing would be done with seinfeld, and i was right. i wanted this complete series set for the book, the packaging, and the bonus disc, so today i went to best buy and bought it for $169.99 and it even came in a limited fridge pack with magnets....so to me it was worth it. i enjoyed the first eight season dvd sets, but now i'm really happy with this complete series set. however, instead of complaining like so many people seem to be doing, i'll just put my first eight seasons on eBay, get what i can for them, and consider it as money going towards this set. i really don't see why people are getting so worked up over this.

starsSeinfeld pushed the boundaries of TV.
I have always thought there were two truly great moments in postmodern television history: Monty Python and Seinfeld. Monty Python arguably influenced Seinfeld. Both shows pushed the boundaries of television in terms of style and content. Both shows were brilliant. So when The Complete Monty Python's Flying Circus 16-Ton Megaset was released a few years ago, I promptly purchased it for around $100. Waiting for the recent release of this Complete Collection of Seinfeld again proves that patience is a virtue. From its first episode on July 5, 1989 to its final episode on May 14, 1998, the Seinfeld series (a "show about nothing") was television at its best. The series was created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. David later went on to create Curb Your Enthusiasm. Seinfeld was set primarily on New York City's Upper West Side, and featured a memorable cast of characters including a fictionalized version of Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza--a "short, stocky, slow-witted, bald man"--(Jason Alexander), Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and Cosmo Kramer--a "hipster doofus"--(Michael Richards). Minor eccentric characters included Newman (Wayne Knight), Susan Ross (Heidi Swedberg), Morty (Phil Bruns, Barney Martin) and Helen Seinfeld (Liz Sheridan), Frank (John Randolph, Jerry Stiller) and Estelle Costanza (Estelle Harris), David Puddy (Patrick Warburton), and J. Peterman (John O'Hurley). Individual episodes involved coping with the pointless minutiae of everyday life (waiting in line, relationships and breaking up, going out for lunch). The end result was always hilarious.

Recently, on the November 1, 2007 episode of Jon Stewart's Daily Show, Jerry Seinfeld hinted there is a possibility the cast would reunite for "one last scene." The Complete Collection of Seinfeld features 32 DVDs with all 180 episodes, extras including "The Official Coffee Table Book," a bonus disc featuring the reunion of the cast plus Larry David on the ninth anniversary of the series finale.

starsSeinfeld is RICH
Man, I like to obtain things in one fell attacks surprised, and it is the answer which I sought. Like the complete remote side, or complete Calvin

starsDiscs and great, but Coffee Table Book is lacking
DVDs are large. They have very that you would envisage and all the others criticize noted. Thus, I will not harcellerai this review with a ton of repeated information. There is a thing to note. This unit is announced with the mythical book of coffee Table that Kramer created which becomes its own coffee table. The book included in the package does not become a coffee table. They could have/should have added the legs out which can yield, as the book of Kramer. Otherwise, this a fantastic product!

starsSeinfeld is RICH
Man, I like to get things in one fell swoop, and this is the answer I was looking for. Like the complete Far Side, or the complete Calvin & Hobbes. Oh sure, I could be a blithering fanboy and talk about how "true fans" bought the DVDs season by season, and then I could cry about how a business is looking to maximize its profits, but I'm not a cry-baby. Someday they'll probably release a complete Simpsons, but I won't care because after season 10 that show became a huge steaming turd. But this is a great deal. Buy it if you don't have all the other DVDs, and if you DO have the other DVDs, quit crying about it. Wah! Sony is evil! I will cleverly replace the "S" in their name with a dollar sign!

starsTo all the one star Wine'rs
I love the show and love the DVD's. Any one that is a Seinfeld fan then you need to get this.
I bought all the single season DVD's and I got this for all the extras.
You buy the DVD's because you like the program or movie. If later it gets cheaper don't wine about it. What you go and wine to your car dealership because your car looses $4,000 just pulling it off the lot. You people remind me of the people that spent days standing out in front of the Apple store to get an iPhone and are now complaining because they dropped the price. Stop wine'ing if you don't like the show then don't buy it. What you going to wine in a few years when they come out with like a anniversary special edition too and it has even more special features.
I wasn't going to write a review but all of the people that gave this one star are not doing it because they didn't like something of it. They are just upset and gave it a single star because they paid $35 or what not per a season episode DVD.

starsIt's what's inside that counts....
I bought the whole of box of Seinfeld, but I must say that the box itself is at a cheap rate made. It resembles it could fall independently of handling day labourer and any grease/sweat/fingerprints will tacherera the external paperboard. You would think for the money spent that it would be leather-leap. The book and the presentation of DVD more than compensate for it.

starsAwesome Collectible!!
I just purchased this new Complete Series box Set and it is awesome and very well made. I decided to wait because I knew that, eventually, a "Complete Box Set" was going to be released. It was inevitable that this was going to come out because of how HUGE Seinfeld was and still is. Only instead of me having 8 separate box sets cluttering my bookcase, I have one, nice Collector set taking up one quarter of the space. This set is about the thickness of a Telephone Directory and about as tall as one as well. It comes in a hard case with 3 separate slots, 2 for the DVD's and 1 for a very nice Hardcover "Coffee Table Book" the gives you a brief description of every episode and small facts about each episode. It also comes with a bonus DVd on the back cover of the book. The Dvd sets are split into 2 Smaller books that are also very well made with Seasons 1 thru 5 in one book and Seasons 6 thru 9 in the other book This set was very well worth it for me to get as a huge Seinfeld fan and not to mention the bargain price of $175 Dollars I paid for it as opposed to the original $280 suggested retail price. If I would have bought these separate, it would have cost me over 350 Dollars, so I'm very happy I waited. If you are a Seinfeld fan, casual or not, I highly recommend this set to everyone, especially if you never purchased the prior sets before. This would also make a great gift for the upcoming holidays.

starswhat the hell, i'll just eat some trash.
yes, I am an ENORMOUS ventilator of the exposure, you could say a little haunted with him, and once that season 7 left, and season 8 then was released, kind of I illustrated of them would release thereafter a whole whole of series along the manner that I bought seasons of each individual and I rather frequently observe them, and they rest proudly on my rack of DVD with much of films and DVDs. exposure of the some other t.v. the only thing I did not make was to pay the full price any of the various seasons. I found on sale some share or selected some exhausted those. I currently think I paid more than $30.00 none of them, I need only season 3 and naturally, the season 9, which I could just jump and buys the box of regulated series which I could not be more enthralling than approximately they could release all the additional expenses and delivers seperately one day, they could not, but I want all these articles, I want the series whole in one, the small ordered box, than still... will rest proudly on my rack of DVD. I do not feel that it is a tear of the whole the price of this unit is extinct a flight in my opinion, and if you are honest with a god, the true ventilator of the limit of exposure... perhaps psychopathe to the subject of him as I am, then of this is a very welcome addition with your collection I also have each season available of edge your enthusiasm, and will continue to buy them while they become available, and when L.D. decides to put the kibosh on this exposure, and if they release a box of regulated series, I am first in the line to buy that also well. with each the his clean ones I guess.

starsGreat for a new fan =P
Yay! I did not observe it when it was on the TV! I am rewarded not to be a ventilator! I hated Seinfeld and the ventilators of Seinfeld when it was MUST SEE! I obtain the whole series for less than the paid ventilators! ! There are you happy? Clearly each great exposure of TV releases the seasons initially, then the whole series. CEASE THE PLEURNICHERIE. You obtained to observe each season years ago. Is this what you paid. Just like obtaining a plasma TV 5 years ago, you obtained it before each one, you appreciated it, you PAID are you upset to him now that the TV entered the price downwards? It is how that functions and really, shame on YOU. You should have paid the attention to the life and noted this occurs. You should have made a choice when season 1 left. Do I appreciate it now and do not obtain the large box regulated in 10 years? Yes, I will appreciate it now and will not feel sorry for me later when there is an additional disc (which will probably separately be released!!!!!, they are in that to make as much money like possible after all.) Want thus. You obtained to appreciate it, are happy now. The BTW that I do not buy the whole of box, I can handle to observe million re-executions on the TV =)

starsI think not...
I like Seinfeld. I bought each season and patiently waited beside left. Wells they are outside and there is this. Instead of rewarding the patient ventilator which bought each season as I made with a disc of allowance, we are greeted with a regulated box which rewards the sucker who buy it with a ooooohhh allowance dvd. "expenses additional", I spent ~35$ for each whole of box. Seven sets times 35$ (place 1 on top A 2 seasons) equalizes more than the price of this box thus of my reward to be the patient and to give them that my money is less material in general. Buy this if you want. If you buy the others, do not waste your money. Are the scenes of allowance right a group of moments of art of car-portrait-to congratulations where each one of the exposure rests just known as around, "us did not make an impressive exposure? ??" Good Yea you. Thank you for the swindle.

starsOne of the best ever
It will be simply one of the best sets of DVD ever released. Perhaps I include/understand some of the people out from there who it feeling betrayed, but, as some others said, you chose to buy or not to buy. It is sale 101; as they say, "they come cheaper by the dozen". It is not illogical whole to find this kind of marketing. The cold right, rest behind, and never appreciate one of the most intelligent sitcoms.

starsGreed factor
Yeah, I'm another resentful person who has been buying the individual seasons throughout the past few years at $50+ per season. Luckily I can afford this new all-inclusive set so I will buy it too, but it doesn't make me any less annoyed.

Like others have said, I won't be buying TV series ever again. There are other ways. One more TV series customer gone.

starsWhat did you expect?
Im is extremely confused top why people insane that they release a whole of box? What did you wait? They do not have any reason with any release this unit. You bought the dvds early and it was your choice knowing that this would leave once that they all were released. Each exposure simple of TV to come outside on the dvd did this. You individually release each season then once that they are made to you make a whole of box. Which of you people was really enough ignorant not to see this occurring? Obtain a certain good direction and the stop complaining about something which you knew would produce. Punishing "the true ventilators"? Why? It was your choice to be waited. There was no manner that they would release this box regulated years ago, I guess because they could not "deceive you" people to really buy the permanent deformations thinking rather then and waiting to buy the whole of box.

starsWhat about the High Definition DVDS
Look I for one never bought the seinfeld box sets as they came out but would have liked to. Look if you bought them you have been enjoying them this box set isnt even out yet so you have had these dvds for a while probably so you shouldnt be too upset. I am glad they put it all together for people that waited but who knows I might not buy this one either because then I would be mad when they re release all these 32 dvds into like 10 Blu Ray discs. I think people should just accept new versions of things yes I know it sucks my computer gets outdated ever few years but look enjoy it while it lasts. Im the seinfeld and curb your enthusiasm fan to the max though. Im just sad that Jerry will stop going on Letterman and Leno now that he has no product or movie to hawk.

starsBad form
The producers of the series of DVD of the need for Seinfeld to be punished for the relative underhand policy packing up the whole series any ventilator of Seinfeld in value its salt already bought the seasons as they were released. No matter who who awaited this money grabing the unit locked up in a box of the whole series is not any ventilator, to buy them too cheap in the original form or ing just of b.s that they knew future plans which a whole series would be available. Those responsible for this underhand production must be burned with the pile, tar and to be varied the step, or to be whipped whipped, or worst from all, spend time with the nut of existentialist of armchair.

starsKeep the piece
I frankly am surprised anyone buying TV show DVD sets doesn't understand how this works by now. The best example I know of is the series Six Feet Under from HBO. The complete series DVD came with some wonderful bonus items only found in that set. Anyone care to guess if the same thing will happen with The Sapranos or Deadwood?

People this is what they do. Like or not, buy it or not, buy this or never buy anything again, who really cares, but learn your lessons and move on.

For me I rented them from Netflix and am thrilled to get this brilliant set that speaks to the love, care and effort that Jerry and David clearly have for this show.

As noted before and by others, if you don't like it so be it, but for a true fan who can afford it, the extra goodies clearly make this worthwhile.

Life is too short people, be thrilled we even had the opportunity to watch this show and now have the opportunity to see it released in this manner. Move on, enjoy and God Speed. Everyone you know will be happier for it, you can trust us on that much.

starsPremature question. But for those who actually picks this set up on 11/06/07, please answer. Thanks.
THIS IS NOT A REVIEW ON THE PRODUCT ITSELF. BUT 5 STARS INITIALLY FOR AN AWESOME, INCREDIBLE SITCOM. I obviously know this post will not be helping any individual, but I think it's important to pose the question. :)

Know that this is a premature question, but for those who actually do pick up the Seinfeld boxset when it comes out on 11/06/07, please answer. Appreciative. Please use Amazon's "COMMENT" function under this post to answer. THANKS.

I would like to know whether the Seinfeld Boxset DVDs will be housed in flimsy sleeve or cardboard protectors, which in fact do not do the job of protecting DVDs from surface scratches all that well.

Anytime two objects slide across each other, friction automatically creates microscopic "scratches" even if they're not heavily noticeable to the naked eye. However, they can be noticeable if you actually use the disk often. Seinfeld is classic memorable TV, and I can imagine re-watching the entire series many, many times over.

Normal plastic DVD cases found with individual boxset always seem to provide better protection to each disk because you are "separating" the disk from the case holder in a vertical manner without having to slide the disk back and forth from potential scratch inducing flimsy sleeves.

Scratches automatically devalues the DVD product. I have the first two Seinfeld volumes (so technically season 1, 2, and 3). I like to keep my DVDs scratch free, and if the COMPLETE SERIES boxset comes equipped with flimsy sleeve protectors, I might have to pass and pick up the individual sets instead.

starsAmazon...more info is needed...

starsCome on people.....
It is completely ridiculous that so many people are plaintiffs and speaking "boycotting" this unit. It is laughable really. Any person who is a ventilator of TV or films knows that it is how that functions. Yes, it sucks you but made honestly not to think that it would occur with Seinfeld? As somebody of other said, if you want this unit, buy-the and sell your other problem of DVD' S. solved completely easily if you cease feeling sorry for you and think of the way of doing the work for you to him.

starsAwesome! You can buy all seasons in one set!
All you what are annoyed about releasing this box regulated now should just obtain above him. If you bought each season like it left, you appreciated them this full time. Be thus happy. It is not as you are absent outside on much N not obtaining the complete whole of box. Seinfeld is astonishing and if you give him one holds the first role out of anger; You are not a genuine ventilator of Seinfeld!

starsseinfeld is amazing and you should have known they would make a boxed set!!!!
I like seinfeld. that I probably saw as 90% of the episodes but I buy a simple dvd when they started to release them? NOT! naturally not I knew that in approximately 5 years they all in an ordered way packed concerned would have locked up them in a box and here it is, as I envisaged last year, just for the holidays. I cannot consider you of people which is pissed with far because "the studios still did it." EACH series has a unit locked up in a box at the end and the weather is usually really fresh (IE six feet below with grass and very which). so right waiting and if you cannot await them and want to buy one, then I guess that you do not need to buy a unit locked up in a box you make now? BUT you also obtained with all the these recreation of additional bank charges as the inflated shirt and the manuscript and all that which I do not think come with this unit locked up in a box thus look at it only manner and yea that you spent much on different, but just sell to them behind if you must will be made enough to buy these overall people seriously, it is not the end of the world and if you pay Any attention to the exposures in the manner TV is not released on the dvd, would have carried you out that there are the ages that this were going to occur that this unit locked up in glory) descended the line. I cannot wait until it goes on sale until I had waited many years this...

starsthe studio has done it again (last time was James Bond)
I bought the first 7 seasons of seinfeld and I feel so stupid now as other reviewers. This sucks big time. Last time I bought something called James Bone ultimate collection with 7 James Bond movie in a box, and later on, I think they released at least 3 different versions of different combinations of James Bond movies and I have no idea what to buy to complete my collection because the titles are all overlap with each other in each version. It is so obvious the studio just want more moeny. I end up getting my collection from "you-know-what" souce. They are doing the same with Harry Potter movie now (first 6 movies in the so call "collector's edition"), and I believe they will release another "collection's edition" when all the movies are released. To all fans, you are just a tool for us (the studios) to generate revenue.

starsGreat, but Sony should have warned us first
I know this set will be awesome, that's why I rated it five stars. The series was in a class of itself. Few sitcoms from today can really match the quality and staying power that Seinfeld has enjoyed over the years.

Now my complaints.I was one of those loyal fans who bought the previous seasons as they were released.I spent over $120.00 in the collector's edition from season 1-3.And bought season 4 and 5 seperately. And I stopped because of economic reason (but was tempted to buy them as they were released). But all in all I ended spending nealy $200 in five seasons, whereas this new collection will cost at least the same price, and will include all nine seasons. I knew this was going to happen. I feel now as if I was robbed the last few years. What kind of world are we living?

I'll probably end up selling seasons four and five and keep the collector's edition.Maybe I won't buy it at all.But I have learned my lesson. That's one of the reason I have never bought a Smallville DVD.
It may take years (as the series is still on air), but I'll wait for a box set that includes all seasons.

starsGlad I waited.
Well, I never bought this cause of seasons when I knew that they would do this. Cannot wait to obtain it. This will be the perfect gift of Christmas for my hubby this year.

starsDon't fall for the Double Dip
Here the sad fact: the studios want -- not, request -- the jets fresh of income each quarter. This is why they sell sets of simple-season. Then the bearings of the fourth quarter around and they remballent what is already available, jet in a book, or some new devices of allowance and, "glance, what a great idea of gift! More, there we can make a cargo of $$$$$>from XX% of the people that to already have the individual seasons!!" The costumes have even a name for this marketing strategy: The double immersion (how by the way for this unit in particular)! "thus the unconditional ventilators will be pi

starsLighten up people...This is capitalism in action
The ok thus bought all the sets of season to you while they were released. And now you made tic TAC that it "still plunges". The well there is something which you can do that I have excercised with my sets of X-Files which I bought as they came out of like my buffy, stargate, and various hold the first role the travelling outfits. Sell them. Often periods you can make money selling enough the sets which you bought while they were released that you can primarily take the complete whole for free. In the case of Buffy I sold only the five seasons when I had and could take the complete series and always made take a certain change more with the firefly. There is MANY OF MANY great means of thus selling products does not blame the large studios so that to test makes another male, make a certain amount of money yourself. Just an opinion of the types...

starsYup. This blows.
I agree obviously with the ridiculous situation here. The joining of it with the faithful ventilators just is not very smart, thus.... why not release an alternate package which includes the season nine, the book

starsI love Seinfeld
I, for one, cannot wait for this box set to come out; and to those who are complaining, I don't believe you are honestly surprised by this...they ALWAYS release a big box set with every season and a crap load of extra stuff. It never fails. And you'll buy it, and you'll love it; because it's Seinfeld, and it rocks.

starsObviously Good
c'mon now, you knew this was going to happen. The very moment season one was released you knew there was a very good chance they'd package the complete series at a later date, and I'm very happy they did. Seinfeld was a great show.

Sure, I bought a few of the individual seasons, and I'm going to buy the complete series set too, just so I can have all of them together, nice and neat. What's wrong with giving consumers more options? It would have been nice if the complete series was available for purchase when season one was released, but you know that wasn't going to happen.

I imagine they'll make more money this way, releasing each season one at a time, but to think this was some evil plan purposely kept hidden to everyone is nuts.

Again, Seinfeld was a great show. Either buy each season one at a time or the complete series ... but either way, you'll enjoy them.

starsI agree with everyone else
This kind of BS is exaclty the reason that I stopped buying new DVDs months ago. I bought Friends, The X-Files, Fraiser, Mash, and now Seinfeld, all the hard way. At least with Friends, I had the option to pick up the cool box.

starsStop buying Sony products!
This is exactly why you should not buy ANYTHING with the Sony name on it.
-Sony is obsessed with DRM and forcing it on customers.
-Sony installs illegal rootkits on their customer's computers without their consent.
-Sony is one of four major funding agents of the RIAA (this is the conglomerate of record cartels that sue single mom's, disabled people, dead people and children for downloading music).
-Most of their products are proprietary.

No one should be surprised that a company like Sony would do this.

Speak with your wallet and don't buy anything from Sony! And be sure to inform you friends, family, neighbors and co-workers about Sony's practices as well.

starsI'm not buying it.
I do not buy the whole of box. I hate that the studios do this with the customers and the faithful ventilators. I currently do not have any Seinfeld DVDs, but I am approximately ready to buy seasons 1 to 3 (this evening, really). And when I, not only will I buy DVDs used, but in aucunes circumstances the faithful ventilators of screws of I which buy sets of DVD because they are (as I do it) released purchase buying a box of compilation to place. It is nonexact simply. I hope that EACH ONE boycotts this release. They is simply false. Does I want to say, how much money cost enough? ! ? !

starsHere's a thought ... don't buy this!
So, obviously this is a huge rip off for us loyal fans who purchased each Seinfeld season as it came out. So ... here's my brilliant idea. BOYCOTT! We, as consumers, have a choice. We do not need to buy it. If we don't buy it, Sony makes no money. Hence, they'll have to release the special 200-page book with Jerry's observations and an hour long discussion DVD with the cast and Larry David separately in order to make money ... right?

So ... I repeat ... DO NOT BUY THIS!!! (Unless, of course, you're one of the patient ones whose been waiting for this - in that case, you win.)

starsanother box set!!!
Agree with the others criticize. I have the purch the 5 1st seasons of Seinfeld, 8 of the king of the queens and 8 of Raymond. Maintaining low and see all come in a small ordered package. The same thing arrived at me with friends! Live and learn. You have to however give it to the studios, they know that the ventilator and the collector truths will obtain the various seasons and then will have to also make place the final box and supplements, like me. I will be rolled up to the top selling the seasons of individual or with a sale of odds and ends or ebay, take my pieces on the price and probably then employs that to buy all in a unit!.. Fortunately, it do not have there any more series which I really appreciate most interesting to buy and if there were, I would await certainly the end to do one purchase. The only reason that I give these 3 holds the first role is because of the fact this product leaves now after all the only seasons. Destruction right and not a comment on the exposure itself

starsMichael Richards' Stand-Up Comedy Even Funnier Than This Lameness
Let me be the innocent child in "The Emperor's New Clothes," and proclaim:

Jerry Seinfeld is not funny!

Oh, I know what you're thinking: Here's a guy who thinks Seinfeld was unfunny, but his cast was hilarious.

No. At best the rest of the cast was mildly amusing (although Jason Alexander is a talented actor, he is not necessarily hilarious, hence the two stars).

Because, when it comes down to brass tacks, "Seinfeld" *was* a "show about nothing" -- in every sense of the word:

The contrived semi-plots, with choppy one-liner segments.

The cloying, annoying, ejaculatory bass riffs between shots.

Jerry Seinfeld posing as this hipster: Yeah, right, a hipster with a ridiculous bushy mullet. At best, Seinfeld was an Upper West Side Jewish version of Jeff Foxworthy. You want to know why people think Jewish men are smug, metrosexual wimpish know-it-alls? I submit Jerry Seinfeld as "Exhibit A." If a WASP played a Jew such as Seinfeld, he'd be accused of bigoted racial slurs against the Jewish people. Grating, like fingernails down a chalkboard.

Oh, and speaking of freakish hair-do's: Is there anyone alive who thinks that Michael Richards as Kramer would even inspire a single chuckle if shorn of that ridiculous Brillo-pad hair? Within three episodes, he'd have been out of the door, after having been reduced to haranguing black hecklers in the studio audience: He's a [n-word]! He's a [n-word]!

Pathetic.

And, "Elaine"?

Puleeze! She makes Gwyneth Paltrow look like Kate Winslet, she is so flat.

Yawn.

starsWhat a Disgrace!
First of all let me mention that the 32 DVD set looks fabulous. Especially with the book and bonus disk. Presentation is A+. And i would recommend buying it for all Seinfeld fans who did not purchase Seasons 1 through 8 when they came out. Price of just above $200 is excellent price as well.

Now, for the rest of us, who already own all 8 seasons: SONY Studios SUCKS. That's how they repay true fans that bought every set every 6 months it came out. I will not repeat what other reviewers already mentioned, but there is NO WAY IN HELL, I (and i am sure many others will join me) will make any effort to support SONY dvd franchises by re-purchasing dvd sets and selling something that took me years to put together. (SONY is doing the same thing to James Bond - 42 DVD set; and i am positive they will do the same to ROCKY 6 dvd set since they purhased MGM). The least they could do for Seinfeld Season 9 is to put it as a Gift set which would include usual 4 DVDs and the book that will be offered in the set.

And the last point: Amazon was pretty good with pricing for Seinfeld DVDs. Up to this upcoming Season. What's the deal with $49.99 ? What happend to regular $32.50 as for previous seasons? Even other online competitors offer this set for $37. And I am sure Best Buy chain will do something like they did before Season 8 came out - they sold Season 8 for $30 ($32.50 with tax) while dropping prices of all previous DVD sets to $16.50 (50% off regular price).

To summarize: SONY DVD Studious - start respecting us! Stop re-doing DVDs and DVD Sets unless there are drastic improvements in audio and video quality! Amazon - get to your senses! Set the real prices for the DVDs!
All Seinfeld fans who already own previous seasons on DVDs - keep these DVDs and treasure the moments you got each of those sets! Forget about this new upcoming bundle. Let it be a gift for new Seinfeld fans who grew up to understand the significance of the show and it's relevance to everyday life!

starsWhy would anyone ever buy a season of a TV show again
I should have learnt after M*A*S*H

A true fan buys every season as they come out.

A true fan pays a premium to buy it the day it comes out.

Then, the pr!cks at the studios release a complete box, penalsing every true fan of a show who buys the episodes on the way through, in this case, offering a "coffee table book" for those that buy this box set

If the studios had any morals, they would provide this book to everyone who bought all nine seasons along the way, but we know their morals

Problem is, this will backfire, people wont buy box sets along the way, waiting for the bumper all season offer, but the studios will summise, because no-one is buying on the way through, that there is no demand.

So we all lose

starsOne of the cleverest TV shows ever made now in one boxed set
With me, Seinfeld can basically be broken in three shares - seasons one and two where the series is right being, seasons three to seven in which absolutely all clicks because of the great report/ratio of the on-screen of the cast iron and the genius of Larry David, and at the two last seasons after the departure of Larry David in which the hearth slightly shifted satirical glance on the uglier side of the human nature to the comedy insane. Usually each episode was autonomous. In fact, some of the episodes early are so autonomous as for have the wonder of assistances what occurred. In the season two "the business", Elaine and Jerry decide to try to combine their current friendship ("this") with their past while sleeping together ("which"). Because George predicts however, it is pretty much impossible to mix "this and that" without losing both thereafter. The end of the episode shows that Jerry and Elaine arranging rather much in "this that and the other" - a romantic report/ratio - and then the series right drops the subject as the whole episode never occurred. From time to time Seinfeld would have an arc of history of the kinds. For example, in the season four the exposure pushed the recreation with the executives of television of network and their decision-making process when George and the wind of Jerry to the top of launching the idea for "an exposure of TV about nothing" to NBC. The offer two to the top of what is primarily the manuscript of the episode largely acclaimed of Seinfeld "the Chinese restaurant". The costumes of network are unimpressed. As alternate George and present of Jerry a ridiculous piece of ground in which a judge condemns somebody who ran up against the car of Jerry to be his Master of hotel. This time the costumes are reversed. Seinfeld also really had a gift to amuse while pushing the assistances at the edge of offence. "the boy of bubble" presents the assistances with a coarse and unpleasant individual as a victim of a disease of insufficiency immunized against the patient angels which play usually this part. "the walk" presented the expression "not that there is something badly with that" in the American culture of noise and highly also satirized political exactitude. "Coining junior" shows George in familiar form when it speaks in favour with Jerry not to intervene to save the life of an artist because it would devaluate paintings of the artist whom it bought in preparation for the death of this same artist. Exposure is often absurd, and although it seems impossible that such a group of people of art of the car-portrait-absorbed could continue even the pretense of a friendship of multi-year, something about it is curiously well-known with the majority among us. It is at least partly because of the great interaction between the principal characters in which they have comic functions and of right-man according to the situation, submitting their reports/ratios seem true well that exaggerated. Until the details on the unit, it is a 32-disc, together of two-volume offering each 180 episode of the exposure with "the official book of Table of coffee," a 226-page, an attached anthology filled with photographs, quotations, a trivia starting from each episode, and of the personal reflexions starting from Jerry. The collectable book also includes a disc of allowance comprising "Roundtable," a hour-long discussion of round table among the four moulded and creative Larry David remembering about the race award-winning exposure on the air.
